Since this place is very close to my job i figured i try it out. The place was ok. nothing special. The name is decieving bc u think its just a mexican restaurant~NEGATIVE. they offered a variety of foods from breakfast, luch and dinner. so u can order pancakes, mexican food and burgers at the same time! The tacos were overpriced $ 2.75/taco but they put lettuce, cheese, guacamole n salsa in it. It wasn’t very appetizing. i’d rather go to El Farolito’s on Mission and Onandaga(my fav place) or a taco truck for $ 1 tacos. I’ll give it 2 stars for cleanliness and friendliness =) i’ll have to try their burgers next time around

A new cook, it seems. Burritos have suffered noticeably. Their burgers are still decent, but after two burritos-gone-wrong(as in, «what the hell is that I’m tasting in here?») I’ve found a new lunch place.

Mama told me to never trust three things: Strangers with candy, politicians and restaurants that serve two different types of food(e.g. donuts and Chinese food). So you can imagine my trepidation when I walked into Tortilla Flats, who served Mexican food, breakfast and burgers/sandwiches. I comforted myself with the thought that neither is that difficult to make in the same kitchen with the same skill sets. What could go wrong? So to help decide which cuisine I would try, I looked at who was running the place — Mexican people — so I went for a burrito. Carnitas of course, to fulfill my month-long pork binge. This was perhaps the most disappointing meal I’ve had in a while. The pork was overcooked and unflavorful, the rice and beans bland, and the guacamole hardly could be tasted. It wasn’t very warm either, so the cheese never fully melted. It wasn’t awful though, certainly edible, but there are better options in the area. The staff was pretty nice though, I’ll give them that. Perhaps I’ll give the sandwiches and breakfast a try.

I woke up late for work this morning. I love my job, and I hate when I suck at it. I get really stressed out. So anyways, I make it to work ten minutes after waking up and still burping up the taste of whiskey. Delightful! Maybe it was the stress or maybe it was the hangover, but the contents of my stomach decided to exit my body by way of my mouth. My day keeps getting better! By my lunch break I was starving for some hangover food, and the breakfast burrito here delivered it magnificently. At the time I was more than pleased, but in retrospect it was actually pretty bland. It wouldn’t have been good without all the ketchup I smothered it in.

The crappiest Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. I believe I’ve eaten better at possibly… CHIPOTLE or BAJAFRESH(this is not a compliment because I hate both chains). Anyway, I got the Carne Asada Super Burrito. Around 5 something dollars; it had the usual cheese, beans, rice, sour cream, guacomole, and I think I saw some carrots in there too. Weird. It was not tasty. And after my meal I felt a bit sick to my stomach like I had just eaten the worst quality beef out there. I wanted to puke. It was more like boiled beef than real carne asada too. Ewwwwww. Tortilla chips were not to my liking. They thicker than I prefer. Credit cards for orders over $ 7. ANDTHEYDON’T HAVEHORCHATAORAGUAFRESCAS! For better quality Mexican in the area, walk just a few blocks over between 22nd and 23rd to get some horchata and burritos at El Metate. Much more authentic. OR, if you really want something tasty, go to El Farolito on 24th between Alabama and Harrison(but their horchata isn’t as good).

If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for a quick lunch that is very basic, will fill you up and will make only a small dent in your wallet then Tortilla Flats just might be a good match for you. I wandered in one afternoon to find a huge space with gigantic yellow top tables. The overhead menu seamed very basic with breakfast items posted on one half and lunch items the other. There’s also one of those erasable marker boards with a bunch of lunch combinations written on. I selected the # 4 which was 2 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans for $ 6.25. After ordering and paying, the nice Asian lady asked me to take a seat, and I’d say in about two minutes she brought me my lunch selection(pictured). The Spanish rice had little chunks of carrots and peppers throughout. The beans were whole pintos with melted cheese on top but a bit too much liquid on the bottom. The enchiladas were made up of braised chicken rolled up in flour tortillas and topped with a mild red sauce and melted cheese. The tortilla chips were of the store-bought, mass-produced variety. The rice and the enchiladas were as another reviewer noted decent but not exciting in any way. They also serve burgers and sandwiches. It seems to be only open for breakfast and lunch, but I couldn’t find any hours posted anywhere.

Consistent and Fast. Affordable amongst RIDICULOUSLY priced neighbors… get nicely filled up for about 5 bucks. Less if you make it there for breakfast. Veggie breakfast burrito, no rice and beans, add salsa and avacado. thank you for saving my butt so many times and letting me get it on my 10 min am break, allowing me 2 mins to eat half of it hot before getting back to work. Also love the tuna melt with perfect fries and the salami sammy(um, $ 3.99, thank you very much.) It’s a no-frills joint and EVERY time i go it is always the SAME. Inconsistency bothers me. And the salmon steak with rice and salad? SOGOOD. and CHEAP. Order something similar in the neighborhood, the ambience might be better but you wallet will be way lighter.

This place is Dece. It’s quick convenient and always seems to have a plethora of cute boys eating here. The burritto was pretty uneventful, but I have a had a good enchilada here before. Plus they have wide array of different lunching options, if you don’t feel like having mexican.

Just as others have written, very average. I give them credit for reducing the price of my vegetarian burrito when I asked for no cheese, sour cream and guac, as well as offering black beans, but overall was an uninspired experience.

What’s with all the empty refrigerator space??? I feel like I am in a communist grocery store with a small restaurant attached. Tables are minimal if not falling apart… Burrito area is right next to the sushi area. Something about that just grosses me out… Burritos, sushi and a kitchen all in the same place… This place needs to take an inner look at itself and re-organize. Save some energy and combine your 4 half empty refrigerators into 1 or 2 full ones! Food is ok from what I’ve had… the breakfast sandwich is good… but how can you screw up sourdough bread with an egg, cheese and ham.

totally disagree with the foodie snobs who’ve flamed this neighborhood sandwich shop… The place is not at all gross… in fact what attracted me after walking by so many times was the fact that its tables were always so shiny and spotless… The food here is basic, reliable and the price can’t be beat. i usually get the salmon dinner — a tasty piece of salmon served on sticky rice with iceberg lettuce for $ 5.99! The mexican food is not at all authentic, but it’s cheap … the tacos are decent … also we love the fact that the korean owner speaks spanish to her staff…

We went to a Tortilla Flats on Divisadero & Bush. What we had in mind was a kid-friendly environment where my husband and I could enjoy a couple of margaritas and some decent mexican food. What we got was weak, overly sweet margaritas(at $ 9 a pop, shelf), crappy food(miniscule portions) and some crayons. We won’t be back.

Wow! I am so surprised by the poor reviews. I went there for dinner and loved it. In fact, I am craving it right now. All I had was a salad with steak, and it was so good and filling for only $ 8. I could have gotten the small for $ 5 and been satisfied. The salsa was so good! My only complaint is the dim lighting where I can’t see what I am eating and that the music was too loud for normal dinner conversations. Why does everyone hate it? Do I have bad taste?

My super veggie burrito was supposed to come with guac, salsa, and sour cream… I’m pretty sure it was missing the last two and was incredibly dry. It was a big burrito and the price was right, but I wouldn’t go back.

Let me start by saying I’ve never had any mexican food here, so I can’t talk about it. But I have had a couple of sandwiches here at lunch and they’ve been perfect for the price. Anytime I can get a sandwich and fries for under $ 5, I’m excited. But when it’s a solid sandwich to boot, well it’s worth writing about. Expect no frills.

WARNING: A Lot of these reviews are for the WRONG establishment. They seem to be referring to Tortilla HEIGHTS, which is on Divisadero. ORIGINALREVIEW: Gross, gross, gross. Prepare to be grossed out. I found myself in Potrero Hill right around lunch-time… was feeling hungry and didn’t really want to go to the Potrero Center for the ol’ standby, a Pete’s Coffee and Noah’s Bagels, so I stopped in for a «super burrito» at «Tortilla Flats»… with a name like that, could I go wrong? OH, yes. $ 5.07 later, a soggy, lumpy burrito arrived, with no discernible guacamole inside, along with some tasteless rubbery chicken and gummy beans. As one other writer said, WHERE was the guacamole??? seriously. I highly, highly, advise against it.
