Chris Caprino is in charge of all Almaden RV operations. It is one of the few family owned and operated RV Service and Repair shops in the Nation that is actually owned and run by the family. For many years Almaden RV has also been employing members of the Caprino family including a grandson.

I have my RV had $ 23,000 worth of damage, body work was good, but when it come to windshields
terrible, that had no idea what they where, doing.
Almaden Rv fixed the front windshield twice .
still didn’t get it right,
had to take it to glass shop
to get it fixed for third time.
Last time I was at almaden rv the owner yeld at me and said would not honor the work if it failed again
well it did.
like I said went to a glass shop and got it done correctly.
I have been Rving for over 37 years and our family has had 7 rvs.

After calling around business after business (including the one we bought our toy hauler from) Almaden RV was the only one who told us we could drop off our Toy Hauler that same day. All the other companies were booked for long periods of time. They had to repair our fuel station box after a blowout on the freeway that took it out. It did take awhile because some parts were back ordered, but they were always able to update us. Our trailer looked brand new after getting it back. We will definitely come back for any other repairs and maitenence down the road.

worst service I have ever had, 2 small repairs and my rv sat for months, and everytime I called it was a lame excuse, or just a we forgot. And to make it worse, I was getting it fixed to sell it and the dealer who is selling it states on there web page that any rv’s have to have at least half a tank of gas, so when I dropped it of at Almaden rv I had just under ¾s of a tank. When I got it back I was on E, They stole my gas !!!

This is my go to place for my RV’s! I have questions all the time and I just call these bad boys up and they’ve got answers! I’m learning to become a do-​it-​yourselfer, which isn’t good for the repair business generally speaking, but these folks have the parts I need, as WELL as the answers! There aren’t many places to go in the Bay Area, but I’d recommend this place over See Grins any day. See grins was rude over the phone the few times I’ve called and answering a question is like solving a riddle, pulling teeth. Peace!

I am giving Alamaden RV a 5 Star rating simply because they deserve it.
We returned from a 7 week RV trip to the South and experienced tremendous weather on the way back. During the last few days of the trip we discovered that our roof did not withstand the constant pounding of wind and objects flying around and it needed to be replaced. After finding out that our insurance adjuster and Alamaden RV were not on the same level Chris took over. He worked with AAA and this week picked up our rig. Not only did they do a great job on the rig it was pleasant to work with them. Thank you, Chris and also Larry.
We were referred to Alamaden by the manufacturer of our refrigerator. After almost one year of dealing with Camping World on a refer replacement that was not working we are glad that hopefully all is finally taken care of.
Camping World lost a customer, Alamaden gained a «Happy Camper»

Great customer service and excellent repair work. Chris and his crew are trustworthy and very knowledgable. This is a one-​stop shop to get everything done correctly the first time. From installing tow packages, motorcycle lifts to building shelves in our motorhome, we have not needed to take it anywhere else. It’s a pleasure doing business with Almaden RV Service & Repair.

Almaden RV Service and Repair is a very professional shop. Great Customer Service. Chris, the owner is great to work We needed an emergency repair on our 22 month old class A Motorhome. Chris worked us into their busy schedule and resolved our problem. Everyone there is pleasant to work with and went out of their way to help us. The repair techs were knowledgeable and professional with a difficult repair. It is worth the drive to San Jose to have them do the repair or service. Highly recommend Almaden RV Repair and Service

I wanted to give this place a great review. By all accounts the place seems to do a bang up business. I searched reviews for about an hour before calling for a tow truck. Unfortunately I cannot give an OK or better rating because had we taken their recommendation we would have ended up spending $ 1200 on fix that wasn’t necessary.
In my opinion proper diagnosis was not followed to verify the problem before recommending the expensive route. The mechanic didn’t verify fuel flow, check a spark plug, check timing or anything required to find the real issue.
More time was spent commenting on how he was surprised we hadn’t gotten a bigger engine, how we haven’t changed out to different rims and how we could change the gear ratio?
Again, these guys service multi-​million dollar and very large rigs but the owners obviously have deeper pockets and can afford their rates. Our little RV gets maintained well but dropping a $ 1000+ for the hell of it didn’t make any sense to us.
In all fairness, they did try. I guess. It just wasn’t what we felt we were bargaining for when we got there and it might have been out of their field being old school and not all computerized diagnosis like more modern rigs.
Got an electric fuel pump for $ 45 a few days later and continued rolling down the road.

BY FAR Almaden is the highest quality RV maintenance facility in the area. Additionally, I have found Almaden to be the most ethical, reasonably priced and dependable (as compared to other facilities in Arizona and in the Bay Area). Over the past two years we’ve taken our 2006 Carriage Cameo to Almaden on two occassions for major repair and installation work. The treatment we received is unmateched in quality and cost. Additionally, all work was performed promptly and within agreed-​upon time constraints. I am pleased to give Almaden the highest rating.

I took a travel trailer there to get quite a bit of work done, including the roof, body work, and some interior work. Chris was polite and professional. As far as I can tell, all the things they did are working (I won’t know until it rains if the roof was repaired properly, but I am hopeful). Other things like the water heater and furnace work fine after they worked on them. They were also nice enough to show me how a few things worked because this is my first trailer and since it was a bit old it has been hard to find complete documentation.
My only complaints are the trailer was not done when promised, and on two occasions someone was supposed to call me but never did to discuss repairs.
Another complaint is that they did service that we did not discuss. I asked them to make sure the fridge, water heater and furnace worked off of gas, because I could not get them to work. They said the problem was electrical and replaced the batteries and 30 amp power cabled (both repairs I approved). What I didn’t approve was about $ 200 in service to the three devices. They were cleaned and calibrated, etc. and I would have likely approved the service, but I was never asked.
I did leave feeling confident with their service, and happy that my trailer had a good going over, it just would have been nice to get a call and discuss some of the repairs BEFORE they were performed.

These guys are awesome. They helped us two days getting us fixed up and back on the road. They could not have been more helpful or professional. And they knew what they where doing. Their shop rate is $ 120 an hour but that is how they keep the doors open. We were just thankful they where there and helped us right away.

I am writing this on behalf of my cousins. Every year they drive their Class A motor from Northern Oregon to Palm Desert, CA. They’ve dealt with a lot of different things and one cousin is a retired mechanic.
On their most recent visit, one of their stabilizers was stuck in the down position. Not only did Almaden RV get them in quickly, they fixed the problem, showed my cousins how to deal with this situation should it happen to any of the others, and got them back on the road quickly, but they changed MUCH less than expected.
They were honest, fair, and a true pleasure to work with.

I called and set up a appointment and gave details of what I needed done, the owner is arrogant and has no customer service skills at all. He quotes me $ 360 flat. My car ends up being there for 6hrs and try to charge me way over the quote plus 8 hrs of labor. This guy will take your money and treat you like garbage. horrible customer service! Don’t go there!!!

I’ve been reading the reviews calling these guys crooks and cons but have to disagree.
In my experience while dealing with them for about a year and a half when they were the only authorized warranty center for my RV I drew another conclusion.
The bottom line is their line employees do sloppy work and management does not have a system to check the quality before it leaves the shop. All it would take is for a senior employee to check each job before it left the shop.
I found metal shavings on the carpet of my brand new motorhome after they replaced a couch motor. Loose screws, bits of wood things like that. It’s as if the technician said «o.k. I’ve fixed the problem, time to move on.» No thought to picking up a hand vac and cleaning up.
Had a outside bracket replaced and they did not trim a rivet correctly not allowing the bracket to do it’s job. Had an exterior light sealed because of moisture inside, they sealed the light but left the existing moisture in the lens. It’s kind of like giving an eight year old a job to do but not teaching them how to follow through.
Well I sold that motorhome and now I don’t have to go here with my new rig. It would have been easy of them to nail down my business for future purchases but I decided once my warranty expired I’d never be back.
