David was simply fantastic. He captured all of the special moments of our wedding and was an absolute pleasure to work with. During our initial phone call, he patiently walked us through the entire videography process and how he and his team would capture our special day. His timely follow up and prompt response to questions made us feel confident and he had our 100% trust during the wedding. Lastly, he worked very well with our photographer and was able to delicately balance the needs of photography and videography in a short time frame. David was great. Had called him just a few days prior to the event and he fit me in. The event was a proposal to my gf disguised as a anniversary photoshoot. Met up with David and explained to him what my intentions were and he went beyond what I had originally asked for. The pictures came out good and the video was great.

David and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with and our wedding movie was amazing! From the beginning, David made sure my fiancée and I felt comfortable and he provided a really fun and relaxed atmosphere where we could be ourselves. He took us to this beautiful and remote beach near Santa Cruz and it was the best surprise for us! He really wanted to capture us as a couple, being in the moment and not stage unrealistic scenes. Right away, my fiancée and I felt like we were on a date and it just so happens that it was caught on film, that’s how at ease David makes you feel.
Moving on to the wedding, David and his team not only met our expectations, they went above and beyond. My fiancée and I both felt that his team did an excellent job! We received so many compliments from our guests that David and his team were filming everywhere, making sure not to miss a thing! They were so professional and even stayed past the negotiated time we had in our contract. Once we viewed our wedding video, my wife and I felt like we were celebrities! The quality of his work was outstanding and we loved watching the video, made us relieve the whole day all over. We put our trust in David with our wedding and he did not let us down. Thank you for such an exceptional experience!

I had the pleasure of working with David Ethridge of AVR Films during my July wedding. At my very first meeting with David, he welcomed us into his home and put on a beautiful presentation. We instantly fell in love with David’s work and ability and could not wait to book him for our July wedding. Once we booked with David, his constant communication assured us that we had made the right decision. Even though we went with a different photographer David does offer a photography package as well. David was willing and able to work hand-​in-​hand with our photographer to get some amazing video and pictures. When we sat down with David to talk about video packages, he mentioned that we would not even notice they were there. After watching our beautiful wedding video I can honestly say I never saw David or his AVR team. They also captured more of my wedding then I was able to see myself. I am so incredibly thankful that I was able to have David and the AVR team film my wedding. He truly was one of the best vendors I used. I highly recommend David and the AVR team for all of your filming and video needs. He truly was a joy to work with and I am so thankful that I will always have my beautiful wedding video to cherish.

We hired David and team for our son’s wedding this last July, and it was the BEST decision we made, hands down! Worth every penny! He was professional, courteous and very easy to work with. We had 3 cameramen there at our large outdoor wedding, and the hotel beforehand, and they were never in the way nor really «seen». They captured the wedding beautifully, and we all loved the final movie put together with music and different pieces from the day. Our son and daughter-​in-​law are seeing things they didn’t really get to see that day. Together with his expert editing and music choices, it’s truly a video masterpiece! We can’t stop watching it. When I got engaged I had no idea what I would need or be looking for in a photographer/​videographer. When we found David & AVR Films he was so nice & gave us all the info we would need, even if we were going to go with someone else. David wanted to make sure we were well educated about what goes into a photographer/​videographer for a wedding. He was so kind & helpful.
When it came close to the rehearsal I surprised to find out David wanted to come to get well acquainted with the wedding party & the venue. Everyone loved how excited he was to shoot our wedding and they all loved his great ideas.
Our wedding day came & my husband & hardly noticed David & his team. They were so nice & seemed to never get in the way. It seemed as though they paid such attention to detail. I had no clue how many of them there were until some of our family & friends mentioned there were so many of them & they were all so nice & must have gotten great pictures & video.
David & his team were all so professional & kind to myself, my husband and all of our guests. I can’t rave about him & his team enough, they were the best. I highly recommend AVR Films for any special day you have coming up. He was a pleasure to work with & never added to the madness to our wedding planning. THANK YOU AVR FILMS! I can’t wait to see our pictures.

AVR are pricey but I was not worried about the cost as much as getting the best quality. In fact after choosing the 6k package I was told I’d get a discount, and honestly I would have rather paid the whole thing than receive the discounted job I got.
David was very persuasive initially and told us we would be getting a 30 – 40 min video, a slide show, selected photos on a disc, along with the archives of our photos and footage on our choice of Mac or Windows.
All in all I feel AVR is most interested in creating videos they can call their own work of art to the point of practically refusing to add more footage to the initial video (we had to really pressure him to extend it to the promised 30 minutes, and refusing to use the music requested by the bride and groom! And when the photos were ready we had to friend him on fb to view our own PERSONAL photos. Then he actually unfriended me when I tried to discuss one of the many problems, as well as hung up on me a number of times. He blamed me more than once, or simply stated «I guess my camera wasn’t working; or I ran out of film on that». Regardless of how understanding one is, for a 6k package one does not expect ANYTHING to go wrong. He also involved the bride on many occasions rather than trying to resolve things with me, even after I requested that he keep the business end between him and I. If you’re a parent and want to be able to keep business separate from the gift, be advised that such simple respect has not been afforded me here.
We did get many wonderful photos and the wedding was amazing, guests have called it a Disney fairy tale. But the point is that what we got is not what was promised. And David has made it difficult to discuss anything.
My only intention here is to simply relate my experience. When hiring a «wedding photographer» one requires a knowledgeable professional to capture all the important photos. Why do we spend thousands of dollars and invite hundreds of people? Because they are a huge part of the event! But AVR captured relatively few of the guests except those on the dance floor and those who grabbed one of the photographers on their own. We have no photos of virtually one entire side of the ballroom; none of the appetizers and bar pre-​reception; and none of the guests enjoying their $ 90/​plate meals; few of the mothers and fathers of the couple, and their toasts were not captured at all, and none of the traditional guest arrival, and not ONE SINGLE sweep of the audience.
I’ve asked the opinion of other professional photographers and most would have sent at least one of their photographers to the reception to begin capturing there whether or not the wedding ran late which David admitted to me he did not do, and perhaps stopped posing the wedding party after the 10^th time in the same pose. They controlled the bride and groom’s time to the extent they had to let their limo go because they ran out of time. I’m told that if the ceremony goes over the photographers should compensate rather than try to fit in all the shoots they had in mind.
So yes, some great photos and footage of the bride and groom and wedding party, but not enough of the event itself and the guests.
Finally, when we received the package the archives were all on Macintosh and we still haven’t been able to view it.
Had I known I would have hired an additional crew to actually capture the wedding, reception, and guests.
Bottom line: Great at fantasy posed photos but not good at wedding photography as a whole, and AVR’s customer relations need a lot of work.
Note: Despite the well-​done aspect of his work, which prompted me to give 3 stars initially, his immaturity is exhausting. To prove my point, please read his response to my review. And note I did NOT ask for a discount. I had no reason to request a discount on what I thought was going to be a Hollywood style keepsake. I’m also not in the broadcast business and have not suggested that anywhere, but I do know that PRIVATE home videos are not the focus of lawsuits by the music industry. Perhaps his desire to use his own music stems from his desire to use our PRIVATE film for his personal marketing. Then maybe he should pay us. He also did not offer any compensation of any kind; and although he seems to think he’s privy to the why and how of who is really to blame and review our private ups and downs for his personal benefit, the bottom line is he is now not only unprofessional privately but publicly at his own hand! Cheers!

If your deciding on a videographer for your special day, David Ethridge & AVR Films is your BEST choice! He is so professional yet beyond easy to work with. Knowing that we were working with someone that has so much experience and true passion for what they do sure put my mind at ease. My husband and I got married on May, 23^rd in a beautiful outdoor wonderland and we were so confident and happy the AVR film crew were there to capture such a magical day! We are still waiting on the final video, and are so anxious to see how it turned out!

Awesome awesome awesome awesome David is the best of the best … We were 3 weeks before the weeding and still didn’t have videographer. I started calling different people from Unilocal.Some didn’t return call and others took 1 week to call back. David called me back in less than 30 min he said he was available for our day so we booked appointment with him. Since this was our first wedding having in the family I was unaware of the procedures. David helped me organize a timeline that would be helpful that day he gave me different tips of how to so thing and at the end we both agreed. He is in your event walking you thru steps since day 1. His photos were awesome love all the help he have us and the amazing work he did. He did more than what was in the agreement. Love his personality and effort in helping us keep in track. Even with so short notice we were able to make everything work perfectly. I am greatful that I was able to find David for our special moment since this is going to be a memory of our lifetime and wanted to have it to rember it in years from now. AVR Films made my wedding dreams come true. Dave Ethridge is such a kind hearted spirit. Our initial meeting he sat down with me (nervous bride) and walked me through the whole process of videography. When I left, I realized I was no longer nervous but instead felt educated and informed… which put my mind at ease. Its worth noting that he LISTENED to my concerns and utmost priorities for my wedding and my video.
What stands out about Dave Ethridge and his company AVR Films is that they are truly team players. They made every effort to familiarize themselves with every part of my event, and all vendors involved even if it wasn’t directly related to their job. He was in contact with our wedding planner, photographers, and updated his team and myself on questions or updates. Looking back, I see the truth in «hire wedding professionals that are TEAM PLAYERS», it will only make your wedding a harmonious success.
At our Rehearsal, one of the first people I saw was Dave! I felt a surge of happiness rush through me because he made the effort to drive 1 hour just to attend our Rehearsal. He met each of our bridal party members, officiant, and walked around our venue. He felt it was that important to ensure he was fully prepared prior to our event, even when we didn’t expect him to – He definitely goes the extra mile for his clients!
Come the day of the wedding, his team executed their plan of attack seamlessly. They we’re prompt, on time, and assumed their rightful positions! Amidst all of the chaos, they were our constant level of peace, balancing the scales. We truly felt they were FRIENDS not just vendors. Any time an inkling of doubt or worry crossed our minds, Dave and Billy we’re making us laugh or smile. They were such a comfort and happy light surrounding us.
Brides– Your wedding is the happiest, most joyous occasion in your life that you will experience. And looking back on that most beautiful day of mine, a month later… All I can remember is the look on Dave and Billy’s face: they were as happy as we were to capture our event. David Ethridge is without a doubt one of the most talented cinematographers. This is a huge compliment coming from me seeing that I studied film and looked at over 25 wedding videographers before deciding to hire David (I even considered flying one in from out of state). Once I saw David’s work, I feel in love… I knew that I couldn’t have any other videographer film my wedding.
David and his team went above and beyond to ensure that my wedding video was flawless. David came the day before to my rehearsal at no additional charge. He familiarized himself every detail of my wedding and was beyond prepared.
The day of the wedding I felt 100% confident and comfortable with David and his team. They showed up 2 hours early to film the bridal party getting ready and every little detail at the venue. David’s warm personality is a HUGE bonus. What bride doesn’t want a videographer that makes you smile and can get along with anyone?
AVR films worked great with the photographers that I hired and they were careful about not being in each others shots.
David, knowing that I am passionate about editing, offered to give me the raw footage in addition to the 2 wedding videos he edited for me. Being the impatient person that I am, David let me see the 17 minute video that he created (the disk with everything on it is being mailed). I WAS BLOWN AWAY and could not have asked for a better video. David created a beautiful montage of my wedding day. He intercut the ceremony with the reception and it truly is the work of a talented artist.
Now, let’s talk business… Unlike most photographers and videographers David stays until he gets all of the shots that he needs. He is not focused on getting paid over time but rather providing amazing videos for his clients. I hired David based on his work, and had not even seen his pricing before I knew I wanted to hire him. That being said, I was very surprised/​pleased to see an above average (the best, in fact) videographer with average pricing. Because David is so wonderful he is in high demand so book him early! David will take the time to make your video perfect. He does not follow a formula and every video is unique. I was BEYOND impressed that he was able to finish everything 2 months earlier then expected and I could see the countless hours that he put into the film.

We chose AVR Films to be our wedding videographer after seeing his work on Vimeo. We loved his style of editing. On the day of our wedding the crew was there and already set up before I even arrived. All the camera men were really easy to work with and got every detail of the day. One thing I loved and appreciated about David is that he wants to capture things that the bride doesn’t get to see, like things going on in the beginning of the ceremony. We love our final video and can’t wait to watch all the footage of our perfect day!

I am a television producer in San Francisco so not being able to control the video shoot for one of the most important days of my life was extremely difficult for me. AVR Films was so professional and produced such quality material that I was completely comfortable letting go and knew that in David’s hands everything would turn out AMAZING!!!
He and I had many conversations prior to the big day and explained to me all that he was going to do and took time to find out what I was looking for (he even gave me some ideas on what could enhance my wedding video like the reading of letters my husband and I wrote to each other before the wedding). With his multiple cameras and high quality equipment AVL Films is top of the line however what makes them more than just a production company is how much they care about each of their couples. David genuinely wanted to know about my husband and I and wanted to help make our day special and memorable.
On the day of the wedding he was so calm and he made me relax and feel confident that everything was going to work out. He brought his video team along with the most wonderful and sweet photographer, Rachel Capil! They were all so on top of everything I felt like I didn’t need to worry about a thing, I didn’t need to give any direction they just did it :)!!! I feel like I may have been a very difficult bride to please in this area but AVL Films exceeded all of my expectations and I couldn’t be happier :)!

First off let me say, if you come across AVR Films and are in need of a fabulous videographer… there is no need to look any further. Dave & AVR Films are absolutely AMAZING! We couldn’t have selected a better vendor! His kind-​spirited professional manner is exactly what EVERY woman needs on her special day. He is extremely talented at filming /​photography but his editing skills are nothing short of being extraordinarily amazing. If anyone knows Dave, he is a fanatic of state-​of-​the-​art equipment =) Every time we show a family member /​close friend our wedding video they are blown away by how fabulous it is and ALWAYS comment on the quality of the video. David & his team are absolutely amazing! I first came across AVR Films as I was browsing our wedding Venue’s website. They had a wedding video produced by David of AVR Films & it was so sweet & romantic, exactly what I wanted my wedding video to be like. I showed my husband (fiancé at the time) the video and he was blown away. Let me tell you that he is extremely picky when it comes to the clarity and quality of photo/​video, so for him to be blown away with a small clip was a great sign! I was so excited and couldn’t want to speak with David. To have a peace of mind, I kept researching other videographers & photographers, watching videos and looking at their photos. For some reason I kept finding myself going back to AVR Films website and watching their videos over and over again. No matter how many times I watch the wedding videos, tears still come to my eyes, it’s as if I am living in that moment with the happy couple.
After months of comparing photographers/​videographers, it was crystal clear that AVR Films was the perfect match for us. After meeting with David, my husband and I were so excited to work with him. The day of our wedding we were super excited to have David and his team there with us. They were so fun to work with, our bridal party loved them as they kept us laughing the whole time! They are so creative with their shots and you can see their passion and love for what they do, and that is what makes his work absolutely amazing. David and his team were dressed very nice but they will were getting down in the middle of the street to get amazing shots of me and my girls. They don’t care about getting a little dirty.
David gave me a sneak peak of some wedding photos and I was blown away. They are so beautiful, I get compliments all the time. I know editing video and the thousands of pictures they took that day takes time, but we cannot wait to see the end results! I cannot stress enough how important photo/​video is for a wedding, but going with AVR Films, you definitely will not be disappointed!

Hiring Dave & AVR Films was the BEST wedding decision that I made. He and his team were an absolute dream to work with. Dave worked directly with me on the wedding day (prior to our ceremony). My bridesmaids adored him and we were all impressed by his ability to fade into the background, while still capturing the memorable, special, and sentimental moments.
Dave and his team were professional, spirited, kind hearted and accommodating. Looking back at the whole wedding experience, there was never a moment when I felt his cameras were intruding on my day. In fact, there were actually many times when I didn’t even notice him and his talented team doing their stellar work.
My husband and I often reflect on our entire wedding day and one moment always sticks out in our mind. After our ceremony, our photographer and Dave took pictures of us inside and around the church. They suggested that we take some photos in front of a brightly painted red wall (which ended up looking AMAZING). My husband and I were doing different poses against the wall and we looked down and saw Dave — - lying on his side IN a street gutter, legs spread out, one arm propping him up, fully within the dirty San Francisco gutter— taking the most BEAUTIFUL VIDEO and PHOTOS ever! That is true commitment. My husband and I still laugh about that to this day.
Dave also has the ability to take screen shots from his video to supplement the photographers work. In fact, just ONE day after our wedding Dave e-​mailed us several photographs he had taken from his video and posted them to Facebook for all of our family & friends to view. It was so thoughtful and kind of Dave to share those moments with us right after the wedding. We were expecting to wait months for the first glimpses of our special day. It was such a thoughtful touch!
Although we haven’t seen the final wedding movie yet (it’s only been 1 month since our wedding), Dave has sent us numerous e-​mail updates about the progress of our wedding video. We appreciate the commitment, open communication and professionalism in letting us know how the video comes together.
I have several friends getting married this summer and they asked me, «what’s the most important advice you have?» I always tell them right away— HIRE a videographer!!! The whole days flies by! There are so many people and moments that you might not get much time to take in and, before you know it, you’re just left with memories.
If you’re lucky— you will have Dave’s creative work to watch time and time again. My only regret is that I don’t have an occasion to hire him again, because he was and continues to be a truly fantastic wedding vendor.

We booked AVR for our wedding back in 2010. We fell in love with his work during our consultation. It was a stretch for us to fit him into our budget, but we made it work, even if it was the cheapest package.
The wedding day David and his son were great. They were on time and you couldn’t even tell that they were filming. The AVR team was very professional.
Now, in the contract, they had up to either 10 or 11 months to get your video to you. We didn’t get the video until AFTER our 1 year anniversary. We were sending emails and had phone calls in between. But it was taking forever to get the preview and then the video itself. When we finally received it, the picture insert on the DVD’s had the wrong names on it! It took him awhile to send us new ones and when he did it wasn’t even a picture that was really nice. I have yet to play the DVD’s because it’s been such a pain trying to get our videos on time.
I will say that the slideshow they did was wonderful and we were pleasantly surrprised that they had coverage of the dancing part of our reception. I thought for sure they were already gone by that time because it was over the hours we booked them for.
I think they cater to and prefer high-​end brides/​weddings. At least that was the feeling I got. I subscribed to their FB page and would always see their posts about their weddings and whatnot. Their FB page was always updated and the site to where you view your video was always updated as well. Which was hard for me to understand why it took so darn long to get our video. I just felt like they paid more attention to the couture brides.
I would have loved to give more stars because they do good work, but it was a nightmare getting our wedding DVD. They said it was a programming problem with their software, but I just have this gut feeling that it wasn’t.
