Kyle Chan Architect’s focus is to serve new homeowners designing cost-​effective yet warm and modern solution to their home addition or new homes.

Most of Kyle’s clients are newbies to residential design and construction. Kyle earns their trust by educating them regarding the entire design and construction process as well as sharing his experience with different contractors.

History

Established in 2014.

Kyle Chan, AIA, LEED AP, has over 12 years of experience in the architectural field and has been a licensed architect since 2008. He has participated in and completed a wide range of projects including commercial shell buildings, retail, office tenant improvements, and new residential homes and remodels.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kyle moved to the US with his parents in 1996. He was educated at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-​ARC) and Cornell University. He travelled throughout Europe and stayed in Rome for half a year, learning about and sketching great buildings. In 2003, after graduating from Cornell with a professional degree in architecture, he moved to the Bay Area, practicing architecture with renowned firms in the Palo Alto area.

Kyle has worked with different municipalities, from the East Bay to peninsula cities.

Kyle’s philosophy is that a building should represent a client’s vision, lifestyle, and everyday needs. He believes that a great project requires clear communication between the client, the architect and the contractor. Besides designing great buildings, his mission is to guide and educate his clients through the entire construction process to minimize any miscommunications with the contractor.

Kyle also actively participates in local church planning projects, including his own church in Milpitas, CA. He is currently a consultant architect for a new church planting project in Pleasanton, CA, providing building evaluation and advisory services.

He is passionate about music and the arts, especially sketching. Kyle was a music leader and guitar player in his own church for ten years and is currently a guitar teacher and mentor for his church. He is also interested in travelling in order to learn from different culture and lifestyle.

Kyle is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
