Michael W. Cluck MD, PhD is the owner of Bay Area Spine Care as well as a Board Certified Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon. He currently owns and practices at Bay Area Spine Care in San Jose, California. Dr. Cluck treats all aspects of spinal disease including degenerative and traumatic conditions of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine-herniated disc disease, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, and scoliosis, both children and adults. He has extensive training in cervical spine surgery including decompression and complex reconstruction for disorders such as cervical myelopathy and radiculopathy.

Dr. Cluck is an expert in minimally invasive spine surgery. He has extensive training in motion preservation surgery including artificial disc replacement. Dr. Cluck is actively involved in medical research and technology development. Dr. Cluck takes an individual approach to patient care. He uses state-of-the-art technology to precisely diagnose the location of pain in each patient. Only then does he offer surgical and non-surgical treatment options to relieve pain and improve function. In fact, Dr. Cluck has a special interest in pain management and understands through better pain control patients are more comfortable and functional after surgery allowing them to regain better long term function in a more timely fashion. Dr. Cluck was born and raised in Northern California. He attended the University of California Santa Barbara for his undergraduate education. He earned his MD/PhD at the Creighton University School of Medicine and graduated in the top of his class.
