I would put zero star for this business if I can.
Exactly the same scamming happened to me. James Ramos is a scammer and he simply did NOT pay his subconstractors and did not reply to any phone calls, emails.
Stay AWAY from this business.

BEWARE!!! Highly unprofessional. James took our initial deposit and then disappeared without arranging for rest of the work. He did not answer his phone calls or return emails. I contacted the subcontractor MIKE and he said that the company is tanked and he is no longer working with James anymore. But i still see the website up and running. Look at the Unilocal filtered reviews of this company. You will find similar customer complains. A BIG SCAM.

Be careful! James Ramos is a scammer. He did not pay his subcontractors who are threatening to put a lien on my house and he did not pay one of his employees, Mike, who sadly has been working for free, poor guy. On top of that he promised a rebate that still has never come and I was told that it would be for less than promised anyways. Now he wont answer any calls and seems to have disappeared.

Highly recommend that you guys should not go with these groups of people.
1. James was not very honest with pricing, he came to our place and told us about the services very professionally, and he said he have been doing this for a number of years. Then i thought if he have been doing his job for a period of time, he should be honest and tell us if certain things may have cost us extra money. And behold, Milpitas inspection required us to either make a bigger hole right by the water heater or moved the water heater out of the house. I had to paid $ 3000 outside of what I intend to paid for the services. $ 3000 isn’t a small amount of money. Lastly, i’ve been waiting for the rebate from PG&E, James kept on emailing me seem like every other day for the payment. i told them i will email him when the check arrives, yet he continue to email and even want to stop by to pick up the check… sound desperate.
2. Air plumping was Senergy Efficiency partnered group; I decided to go with Mark to get my water heater removed. Very little communication on their side when they want me to be at home. He charged me $ 2500 then after when we signed the contract. A couple of days later, he called and said I wouldn’t tell you this but you need a permit and also you need to pay me extra money because I would be driving back and forth to your house. I had to end up paying him $ 500 extra after signing the contract. Let alone, I told him to throw away my water heater and cover the exiting hole… he use tape — I told him I have tape too… he tried to argue with me that his tape was better. Taping a hole does not reduce airflow going into the house. Only when I threaten that I will write a bad Unilocal he decided to fix the hole by removing the pipe and cover it with wood. WOW I wonder if I should even consider this group professional or not.
3. James, partnered group also fixed my window, I had to email them twice to come and fix the lock twice. I wrote a review on Unilocal and James, kept on bothering me telling me I should remove the Unilocal because they had already gotten it fixed. I of course removed it. I bet there are so many other bad Unilocal out there that James, pressed people to delete.
4. I’ve been told by James that my house will feel warmer once we insulated. we insulated, but it feels like before.
5. Overall, please be aware when you deal with these people. They will surprise you with unexpected money to get something fixed. My unexpected surprise was fixing the water heater and under the crawlspace there’s a loose wire that need to be removed.

This company had helped me lower my PG&E bill. James has been a real help in improving my home took be more energy efficient.

This review is long overdue but a year ago we were dealing with extremely high energy bills and a cold house that felt like it had drafts everywhere. That’s when we did some research about what we could do to make our home more efficient. Senergy was recommended to us by a friend. They came promptly and did a thorough home evaluation complete with report and made important recommendations. They were not pushy or overbearing, just gave us the facts and let us decide on our own what we wanted to do and made us more aware of what rebates were available at the time. We then decided to have our entire house reinsulated since we live in a 35 yo home. Best decision we ever made! We are now saving about 30−40% in energy bills each month especially in the winter. Senergy connected us with reputable and reliable companies they work with who all came within a timely manner. And true to their word, we got the rebates that were due to us from the government within a few weeks. We are now much happier with our home and having gone through 4 seasons, we know that the energy efficiency update we did we had done to our home was well worth it. All thanks to Senergy.

I recently got an energy assessment from Senergy and I was very impressed. They pointed out a lot of things wrong with my house that I never knew. I upgraded my house and i am very pleased with the work. I got my rebate within a few weeks. I highly recommend this company.

We moved into a 50 yr old house that needed new insulation. PG&E was offering rebates and Senergy was on the list as an approved contractor. After contacting James from Senergy, he did a quick inspection of our house and recommended to air/​duct seal our house and insulation of the attic and walls; all of which we decided to go forward with. Its been almost 6 months since then and our house is much more comfortable. We’ve noticed that the house is a lot quieter, less drafty and the temperature inside our house doesn’t fluctuate as much as it used to (it doesn’t get too hot or too cold any more). He also helped with processing the PG&E rebate which made the process painless. Highly recommended.

We had this company come out to do an energy assessment on our 40 year old home. With the house being that old and having single paned windows, it seemed very cold and we were having to use our heater way more than seemed necessary. After our assessment we were given recommendations on how to better insulate our house and save $$. We went with their recommendations and glad we did because our PG&E bill has gone way down! I highly recommend SEnergy!

The Project Manager (James) is extremely responsive, is very honest and candid about everything !! You can count on him to provide a accurate assesment.
We bought our first home in 2010. Its not the best of homes, but it fit our budget. We have a few single pain windows and I noticed that we were paying quite a bit for our heating and cooling so I decided to have our house checked. Senergy came out to our residence and performed the evaluation in just a 2 hours. We recieved a detail report explaining what areas needed improvement. James also gave me additional information on the current rebates offered by PGE. What a savings !! We qualified for 5k worth of rebates so the Home Efficiency Upgrades we paid for were practically free.

Senergy is Great! My wife and I recently purchased a home in South San Jose and we were spending a bunch of money on our energy bill each month. We had Senergy come out and do a home energy assessment and they were great. They followed up with us very promptly to discuss the results and possible options. We decided to move forward with the work and they handled all of the scheduling for us. All of our old insulation was removed, house air sealed and then completely re-​insulated from top to bottom. We are very pleased with the work and in addition we have cut our energy bills in half!

I highly recommend this company. I initially called them because I had single pane windows, old furnace and hot /​cold rooms in my home. After an initial explanation over the phone they told me all of the potential problems and how I can fix them. They were very knowledgeable and friendly so I decided to scheduled an energy assessment. The next day they performed an energy assessment of my entire home. A few days later we went over the outcome of the energy evaluation and we discussed all of my option, cost and how much rebate I can get from PGE. From my initial phone call and the energy assessment report it only took 3 days for me to know and understand what my problems were and how to fix them. A few days later I decided to move forward with the retrofit. I upgraded my windows, insulation and furnace and I am very happy with the retrofits, my home is a lot more comfortable. They also submitted all the paper work to PGE and I got my rebate a few weeks later. I highly recommend this company to analyze your home, determine the problems and perform all the remediations.

Update: The company contacted me the day after this review was posted. They apologized after the fact when I mentioned we are not interested in their business and said it was due to lack of staffing. I shouldn’t have had to complain or take business away to receive the apology, however, and it does not excuse taking so long to hear back from them and to ignore our questions.
