All Heating & Air Conditioning Repair

The furnace in our 5 year old KB home stopped working on X-​mas Eve of all days! It was absolutely freezing in the house. I called around on the 26^th and had All Heating come out to take a look. Alberto went up into the attic and was up there for maybe 2 minutes when he calls me up there and tells me that the furnace motor was broken. Luckily he advised me that the furnace should still be under warranty. I called Carrier and was told that indeed the motor had a 10 year warranty and that we would just have to pay for installation. So I called back All Heating and was told by the female dispatcher that she didn’t think they did Carrier warranty work but that she would check and get back to me. Well she never did. So I called another company, (Excel Heating) and they found a motor in Concord so I told them to have it overnighted since I had made an appointment for the following day.
Excel’s technicians show up and are in my attic for about an hour. The furnace comes back on and I ask them how everything went. He tells me the motor was fine. The problem was that a squirrel or something had shoved a walnut into our furnace’s collector box! Once the guy fished the walnut out everything was fine. So I paid Excel $ 155, ($ 110 for the service call and $ 45 for the overnight freight charge and restocking fee for the motor). Add to that the $ 45 for All Heating’s call and I ended up paying $ 200 and having no heat for a week in the dead of winter over a walnut!
Needless to say I was pretty unhappy about the misdiagnosis. So I call All Heating back to complain about having to pay the extra $ 155 when if Alberto had just been a little more thorough he would have found the walnut like the Excel guy did. I asked to speak to a manager or owner and the scheduler lady said he was out of the country until February!!! You better believe I’ll be calling them back on Feb 1^st to give Victor, (the owner according to the scheduler) a piece of my mind.
Stay away from these crooks people!

Carlos has a TERRIBLE attitude. It was obvious he didn’t want to work on my heater. He kept interrupting me when I was explaining the problem. He was told to bring a ladder since the unit is in the attic. But when he arrived, he asked where the unit was and then asked if I had a ladder. He seemed too lazy to pull out his ladder. Then he didn’t seem to want to talk to me about the problem and possible solution.
He spent 15 minutes replacing the pressure switch, a $ 32 part, and wanted to charge $ 300. After much complaining, he eventually reduced the price to $ 250. So that’s about $ 800 an hour for labor!
English is not his first language, and his accent is very thick. If you speak Spanish, you will have an easier time understanding him and his attitude might be better if you are Hispanic, instead of white like me.
That was my TERRIBLE experience.

I just want to say these people are awesome! I called for an issue with the furnace around 10:30am, and they showed up at 1:30pm the same day! I don’t know why so many companies are full or booked up-​but I went through 5 different businesses and had to leave a message or email to even request a return call.
The guy diagnosed the issue to be with the thermostat, and no repair work was needed on the furnace. Hooray for me!

Ready to have a new AC unit installed due to lack of air flow and cooling deficiencies that the original installer failed to acknowledge while under warranty, I called All Heating and Air Conditioning Repair and spoke with Victor. Victor listened to my issues, asked questions and came out to evaluate my unit. Upon doing a thorough evaluation, he presented me with the best solutions to make my existing AC unit cool effectively and more efficient.
I appreciated talking to a technician who showed concern and took the time to diagnose what the problems were. After Victors work, the system now cools to a comfortable level and we have efficient air flow. Victor and his co-​workers are punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Great service on my heater/​furnace. He replaced a blower six months ago and today I had to call back as the heater fan wouldn’t engage. I let the filter totally get clogged and then the blower fuse shutoff. He climbed up into the crawl space, reset the fuse, and reminded me again to be better at replacing the filters. He was on time, courteous, professional, and didn’t even charge me for this follow up visit. Very happy with the service.

I called a plumber out to see why water was coming through the ceilings of both the levels of my house and they went into the attic and told me it was an HVAC problem. So we call these guys and they send a guy who walks into my house, diagnoses the problem sight unseen from my foyer, and then states that there is no way he is going into the attic. He said that it is probably 130 degrees up there even though he still hasn’t left the entryway and he was not going up there no way no how. Then he just picks up his tools and lets himself back out. Seriously? These guys are schmucks.

Victor came out to fix our air conditioner. He was able to fix that real quick. Then he quickly changed my thermostat on the heater, and that was fixed. Then casually I asked him to take a look at my gas fireplace. I told him I had another company set to come out to fix the gas fireplace in a few days. (the company that sold the unit to my contractor) I asked Victor to look at it, not expecting him to be able to fix it. It had been broken for 2 years. The other heating company that I had called a year before charged me $ 150 for the visit and told me that, «It could be $ 200, or it could be over $ 1000. He wouldn’t know until he took the whole unit out and figured out the problem. Some estimate. Then the contractor that put the unit in came in and said it was a simple problem and to call this other company to come out and fix it but they were scheduling 2 weeks out. Victor from All Heating tells me he is not familiar with this unit/​brand, he quickly figures out that a few wires are crossed and without any extra parts, now my fireplace is working. Victor was a no-​nonsense, efficient guy that really seems to have a good sense of assessing problems. Definitely, I would ask Victor to come out again!

I know that finding honest, fair HVAC repair can be a crap shoot, but I had great luck, as a result of cold calling these guys for an emergency repair on my 20-​year old Trane furnace (no heat). I had an excellent service experience with their tech Alberto.
I am engineer, so I was able to diagnose the furnace’s exact problem before they came out (it needed a new valve — more gas plumbing than I’d want to do myself). They would not give me the advertised «free estimate over the phone» — they said that applies only to installations, not repairs. However, they would come out and look at it for $ 45, which would be waived if they did the repair. Other shops charge a minimum of $ 100-​$ 120 for a service call, so I figured these guys were sure to try to upsell me a new furnace once they got in the door. But I figured I’d risk the $ 45 to get my own diagnosis confirmed, and maybe luck into a good tech and company.
Alberto arrived promptly, less than 2 hours after my early-​morning phone call, and I told him the symptoms and my diagnosis. Within 60 seconds he had confirmed the problem. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a compatible valve on the truck, but he said he could go to the «Trane store» and get the correct one. Before agreeing to this, I asked for a quote, which he gave me and subsequently stuck to. For this sort of repair, they charge for parts plus a fixed labor charge (not hourly) which depends on the type of repair. This one was $ 198 for the valve (minus a 15% senior discount) and $ 190 for labor. Overall, this was very fair and reasonable, considering the part is available on Ebay for $ 75 – 125 and retails for $ 150 – 200, and the total time on the job was 2.5 hrs including the travel time to San Jose in rush hour to get the part. Before calling them, I had already figured that a fair price would be $ 200 for the valve and a couple hours labor (typically $ 100/​hr or more). So, $ 358 plus tax on the valve was quite reasonable.
The job was completed to my satisfaction, and included a thorough check for gas leaks using an electronic gas sniffer — better than my nose!

Called to make an appointment because my furnace was blowing cold air not hot.
Victor came out the next day, diagnosed the problem and had the heater working again. Turns out lack of maintenance was a big issue which previous repair tech from other company never mentioned.
I will be using these guys again.

I am very impressed with the service offered by All Heating and Air Conditioning. On 29^th June at 6pm our AC compressor failed and in typical fashion the outside temperature was north of 85 degrees. I spent a fruitless hour checking the system to no avail. We found this company online and called them and they sent a technician around at 8PM THAT SAME EVENING. He gave us an estimate for the repair in writing, which we accepted and he had it fixed in about an hour. Total bill was $ 160 for labor plus one part. They included a 90-​day warranty on the work performed. It has been working perfectly ever since.
This is one very happy customer. I highly recommend this company.

The technicians were nice enough at first, but how many trips out does it take to fix the same problem? I described over and over what is happening, oh it’s a panel. I replaced that knowing it wasn’t and it wasn’t. Came back out got the a/​c working somewhat but hardly cooling. They left after hours, I have no idea what they did. I called to ask and report that is was better but not cooling enough, they told me to go away and call someone else. I have no problem replacing the entire unit if that’s what it takes!

Diagnosed and fixed two separate units, each with difficult air conditioning issues. Showed up on Saturday and Sunday! On time, polite and very professional. Alberto was our technician. While he was there, we had him fix our wine cellar cooling system. Would recommend him to anyone.

‘We don’t fix those”. So much for ALL heating and a/​c huh?

Victor and his team were fantastic! We had him put in an additional climate zone in our home. It involved putting in a dual climate controller, duct actuators to separate the downstairs and upstairs of the home, and installing two Nest Thermostats. The entire experience was professional. Victor showed up when he said he would from the estimate down to the actual installation. He also completed the job in the time he estimated. Their communication was great and professionalism was top notch!

I had heater issue and called around to get competitive prices. All Heating had a great price — $ 35 for service visit. Some other companies were ranging between $ 60 and to $ 120.
Seemed like a great deal. Service person showed up and check heater. Speaking on the phone with me told me that one thing can help is to bring heating system up he can reset it for $ 120.
Knowing nothing about heaters and facing the fact of finding someone else to come out (will cost me another service visit) I agreed.
Guy spends literally 2 seconds pressing a button and ask my wife (I was not home) to pay $ 120. Ignoring my wife’s questions and requests for explanations he just was in the hurry to leave. Spending whole 12 minutes at my place he was on the way to another novices to take advantage of…
Just want everyone to know about their practices and costing structure. Will not do a business again.

Our furnace went out in the middle of the night during the recent cold snap. Brrr! I called and spoke to Victor and he was able to come out same day, even showing up 30 minutes early. Had it all fixed and my house heating in less than an hour! Very professional, knowledgeable, and fair priced. I would use him again if the need arises (which it may since our furnace is very old!)

I wish Unilocal had a zero star option … I had the worst experience dealing with this guy today. Bad attitude, lack of customer service skills and gave me a completely incorrect diagnosis of my freezer problem on top of all that!
I own a bakery with several freezers and refrigerators and I have dealt with a lot of HVAC guys in the past. There are some great professionals out there, and then there are some terrible repair guys who don’t care about what kind of customer service and professionalism they display. This guy Victor takes the cake for the worst customer service I have seen in a long time. I called and booked him to come and check a freezer that was warming up. Fair enough he did show up the next day. He tried to program my Traulsen microprocessor display unsuccessfully, then called somebody else and still was unsuccessful until I told him that I have downloaded the freezer manual and can show him how to do that!
After I programmed the display, he made a quick but inaccurate diagnosis. He said I have to order the complete microprocessor control unit which would cost me about $ 550 in total and I had to change it myself. As he was about to leave I told him: «since we are paying you for your time and this took less than 10 minutes, can you have a look at another freezer that has some problem» His reaction was as if I had insulted him completely. He grunted and sarcastically chuckled saying that my charge was to look at one freezer and nothing else. I determine what my charge is, and you have to pay multiple fees for each freezer…
For me this was the first time in a long time that somebody treated his profession and his customer so rudely.
Anyway after a few nasty comments he left and I called another person who luckily was both courteous and knowledgeable. The new repair guy took his time for a thorough diagnosis and finally found the faulty component which was a simple relay. He went out and got the part for $ 55.95 instead of a 5 minute b.s. diagnosis that would have cost me $ 550. The freezer is working perfectly now.
Not impressed.

Very prompt service, professional and honest. Called today to schedule an appointment and technician came same day to diagnose the problem. Gave me a quote to fix furnace or replace. I said to fix today. He was straight forward with me and gave the option to fix while he was there or the next day. I said same day and the furnace was fixed and working perfectly. Call All heating & Air Conditioning, you will not be disappointed.

I had a problem with an AC unit that my last contractor left disconnected and disappeared shortly thereafter. I called victor through a reference and he was at my place an hour after calling him.
Victor was very professional, inspected the work, gave me good advice on the choices (fix or replace) and an excellent price on both. I decided to go with the replacement and he scheduled an appointment. He was on time to the minute. He worked through the day in the heat. He replaced the old condenser coils, installed new piping, covered it neatly with sheet metal housing, moved the cutoff switch, ran the wiring through hard pipe, drilled neat holes and caulked and patched the stucco.
He then adjusted the blower, checked all the vents, and now we have a quiet AC that actually cools, for half the power that the old system used to chow down.
I did not have to tell victor what to do at any step in the process. It was as painless as it gets. This is rare and I for one am very glad to give him as high a rating as possible.

My AC wasn’t working these past few days. I was thinking maybe I can get by with the fan going. With the high heat in the 90s outside and in the house with high 80s, I was sweating buckets. I called several (10) companies in San Jose today and finally reached All Heating & Air Conditioning in Mountain View. Yup, all the way in Mountain View. They were the only ones that offered to come today (Saturday) then Monday. Their hours in the day are longer too. They said they they would be at my place from 4 – 6 pm. They were prompt and provided great service. Compressor and controller had to be replaced. Cost of parts and labor was $ 395. 1 year warranty is provided as well. Thanks for saving me from the heat! I can say I’m a lot COOLER!
