History

Established in 1994.

Bobbie and Dennis Everett, owners of The Wood Connection, are both high-​tech refugees — Bobbie had a 15-​year career with Motorola, Dennis 20 years with Hewlett-​Packard.

The business was created after Bobbie was «downsized» out of her position at Motorola. Having an interest in building things (although her medium of choice was fabric at the time), Bobbie stepped in to help a young cabinet maker organize his business affairs. One thing led to another, and soon Bobbie was helping streamline the shop’s production and quality processes. Bobbie’s «apprenticeship» ended a year-​and-​a-​half later and she decided to take the plunge into her own business.

Fast forward 20 years…

The Wood Connection is housed in a 13,400 sq. ft. facility with some of the most sophisticated woodworking technology available. We take pride in producing high-​quality woodwork with an emphasis on personal contact with our clients.

The wood connection made our cabinets and vanity for our laundry room/​master bathroom combo. Bobbie and Dennis were great to work with. Dennis did a great job taking all of our ideas into consideration and also giving some advice in certain areas where we were unsure what to do. Bobbie was easy to talk to and very responsive to emails and questions we had. The cabinets and vanity are absolutely beautiful, well made and sturdy. The price was very reasonable compared to other places we looked into.

I love the vanity that was built for our bathroom. Dennis and Bobbie were great to work with during this process. We discovered during the bathroom remodel that the walls surrounding the vanity were not square. Dennis was able to come up with a solution to accommodate the different widths. I had my heart set on a cabinet with all drawers. In hindsight, a cabinet with all doors would have been easier. Dennis was able to provide a solution on how I could still get the drawers I wanted, but cut them in ways to accommodate the pipes and sink. I can’t wait to start the next bathroom remodel as it will require custom vanity as well.

Love the cabinets we purchased from The Wood Connection. They worked with us on a remodel a few years ago and we’re coming back to get a new built-​in in our bedroom (plus they work with the closet guy we’re using). Dennis has been great to work with, the quality of the cabinets were great, and they went right in. They also have great suggestions about various types of uses for each cabinet/​drawer.

Dennis and Bobbie were so easy to work with. We were redoing a kitchen remodel and decide on The Wood Connection for making the cabinets. Their quote was less than others but with higher quality including things like soft close drawers as standard. Dennis also provided great guidance on customization features such as fold out drawer in front of the sink, sliding drawer for garbage can, lazy susan design, etc.

Bobbie from The Wood Connection has made my list of Top Five Best Customer Service Experiences. Even though all I needed was a small cabinet to install over our fridge and match the style of our existing cabinets, her understanding of my needs and her excellent communication timing and skills meant that I never had to do anything other than email until the day I picked up my cabinet. A day later, I installed the cabinet (very well made, by the way) in the awkward space above the fridge, and it fit perfectly! I highly recommend The Wood Connection, especially Bobbie!

We contracted with the Wood Connection to do custom cherry cabinets for our kitchen, Audio Visual cabinets for our family room, and a window bench seat with flanking cabinets for our living room (both stained). Our neighbors were floored when they saw the finished product and we are so thrilled w/​the final result!
(It’s worth pointing out that they *manufacture* cabinets, but do not *install* them, so you will need to find a contractor to do that for you, or be pretty handy yourself. In my case, we were doing a large remodel, so I already had a great contractor to work with.)
Where do I start? Dennis and Bobbie are wonderful! They listen to the customer, madke multiple on site visits to make sure the measurements (and installation) were *exactly* right, and worked around my contractor’s shifting schedules. Their prices are also very reasonable.
We have more cabinetry to do for our study remodel (never ends, does it??) and you can be sure we will continue to use the Wood Connection. I recommend them unreservedly.

When we started our kitchen remodel project I spoke with a rep from another cabinet shop. Needless to say my head was spinning with all of the new terminology and choices to make in choosing cabinets. I didn’t know what the guy was talking about and he didn’t seem to care. I was so frustrated. Then a friend recommended Dennis and Bobbie at The Wood Connection. Dennis’ calm demeanor, knowledge and ability to listen took away all of the frustration and resulted in a very positive experience. We love our cabinets, which are perfect in every way. The whole team is very impressive.

Ordered doors from these guys for a set of cabinets I built, which actually come from a wholesaler in Gilroy (
). Wood Connection builds all the bases and drawers, then they get the doors from Cal Door.
Their price on the doors was the most reasonable I could find and they didn’t charge shipping as they bundled it with another order they were getting from Cal Door. Souther Lumber wanted to charge me for this even though I was only ordering 4 doors.
I can’t speak for their cabinet bases, but their customer service and owner are very informative and easy to work with. I’d definitely consider them when doing a complete kitchen, bathroom etc.

Dennis at the wood connection built new cabinets for my laundry room and built kitchen bences for my kitchen. I asked him to match exactly the kitchen cabinets that were already in my kitchen. Dennis did a fantastic job! The cabinets were a perfect match, and they were completed on time. I had constant communication with them (which is rare for any contractors), and I ended up with exactly what I wanted. I would recommend Dennis and the Wood Connection to anyone looking for new kitchen cabinets or other cabinetry work!
