Whole Body Chiropractic & Massage

First time getting a massage so I didn’t know what to expect. The people were nice and professional, the lemongrass aromatherapy was very pleasant and the massage was relaxing. My favorite part was the neck and head massage… amazing!

CHIRO:
Went there for chiropractic after a car accident and was impressed with Dr. Russell’s care. Only saw Dr. Drew once, but he seemed good too. The actual treatments were great, with massaging the muscles before adjustments (which really helps when you’re so tight & sore) and using the traction table or nerve stimulation as needed.
I felt the prices were a bit high, but when lowered by insurance payments in the end, it was OK. I also had concerns about their legal referral process, but that was minor, I was here for treatment not legal advice and my concussion may have affected my understanding of some conversations. Overall, great chiropractors.
FACIAL:
I also bought a mini-​facial at an open house event they had, but it took me months to redeem it because I now live in Oakland and was never in Sa Jose. I was very happy to see Mimi. Mimi did a great job with the extractions, but because of the short time (I shoulda gotten the full hour facial!) I wasn’t able to experience the regular massaging neck and arms/​hands that accompany facials. She did rub my neck/​top of chest some though.
Never got a massage nor used a Groupon, so can’t speak to other users issues, but will say the chiropractors & Mimi were great.

Paid groupon for one hour. Received about 40min of service.
Emily with the coconut oil and lemongrass was the masseuse and was not good. I asked for deep tissue and she didn’t.
DID NOT do my butt, thighs or lower back at all. Didn’t even touch it. And when I asked she bluntly said” I did it in the beginning”. It was my first massage in 5 years.
After a massage was over, I came out and heard her mocking to the receptionist about how I asked for things and she didn’t do it — on that line. Saw me and just stopped. UGH! Awful attitude, bad service. To show her I tipped 20% I.e. $ 10 for $ 49 massage for an hour– but got only 40 mins of it.
I do NOT recommend this place or at least stay away from Emily with coconut oil.

Found this great deal on Groupon. My masseuse was very attentive and attended to my very tight muscles. Really had the knots of a lifetime! The front desk receptionist was very nice as well. Clean place, nice staff. As a note, it’s definitely best to arrive about 15 minutes early (as I didn’t, but usually do arrive early to places) to avoid Valley Fair traffic. But because I was late, my massage was cut off by about 7 – 10 mins early from my 90-​minute Swedish. :(But I guess to make it up, I got a little aromatherapy and warm towel included for no extra charge, which was nice. Thank youuu :)

I’ve been seeing Dr Drew for about a year and a half. He always takes his time and make sure he addresses all of my concerns. I walk away feeling brand new after every visit. I also bring my son to him. He is so patient and caring with him. I never feel like he just tries to hurry appointments along like I have with other chiropractors.
I have also seen Dr Russell. He really helped me when I had an emergency. I was in so much pain and after our session I was almost 100% again. These guys are awesome and I highly recommend them both.
I have had a massage with Emily. She had me so relaxed but yet I felt like my muscles got the work that they needed!
Bottom line is this office is the real deal!

CHIRO: I’ve been a patient of Dr. Russell’s for 4+ years now! I never had chiropractic treatments before him but quickly became a fan after my first adjustment. Since my first adjustment I’ve seen more then 5 chiropractors and Dr. Russell still remains to be one of my favs. His style is very very UNCOMMON among chiropractors. He spends more time with you then most! He gives a little massage, physical therapy and at the end gives an amazing adjustment. I’ve referred him to any/​all my clients and they all love him.
Dr. Drew is another fav. His style is different from Dr. Russell but his adjustments are amazing! He has a soft but powerful technique. Also, I have TMJ problems time to time and I never meet a Chiro who was comfortable adjusting the jaw. But Dr. Drew has given me multiple jaw adjustments that have helped my tooth pain & TMJ. I see both chiropractors on a regular basis.
MASSAGE: Now I am a massage therapist and I have the wonderful benefit of trading massages with other therapist! I’ve traded with most therapist at this office and there are two that are my favs.
Juliana has been a MT for 2+ years and she specializes in trigger point therapy. Most MT’s say they know how to do TPT but very few actually do it correctly. She is amazing! Anytime I need some true trigger point work I go to her.
Next up is Jacklyn! She is another amazing therapist! She gives some really great sports massage with some awesome stretches. Anytime I need to be tortured & stretched out I go to her!
Both therapist have helped my leg/​ankle issues. Both are extremely passionate about their work. They actually care!

After a great first few experiences with chiropractic and massage at this place, a customer service issue ruined it for me.
The follow up where I was apologized to about one aspect, but then asked to amend my Unilocal review for another, definitely made me feel that the office as a whole cares more about their reputation than about earning it. Had I just been apologized to, and not been asked to amend my review (and then told that I can see their records and evidence for myself showing they were in the right for that part of my review), I may have returned and felt they actually cared about customer service and experience.

OUR PROCESS/​OVERALL EXPERIENCE:
— my boyfriend and I arrived 15 – 20 minutes early, as requested, to complete the paperwork and to show proof we are 21+ (since our Groupon deal was for a 90-​minute couples’ massage with champagne and strawberries)
— while we were completing our paperwork our massage therapists greeted us in the lobby to introduce themselves to us and for us to voice any bodily concerns or requests we had
— after submitting our paperwork and told that our massage room wasn’t ready yet, we were given our champagne in the lobby
— some time after we were taken to the massage room and left to finish drinking our champagne, to eat our strawberries, and to undress up to our comfort level, before notifying our massage therapists we were ready for our massage
— I apologize for not catching their names, but I chose my massage therapist out of the 2 brought to us because she said she uses coconut oil, which I was really looking forward to vs. the massage lotion
— when my boyfriend and I were ready for our massages our massage therapists came in; to my disappointment, my original massage therapist went on lunch, and I was given a stand-​in, who didn’t use coconut oil
— I noticed that during our massage the traffic on Stevens Creek Blvd (i.e. horns honking, etc.) was easily heard in our massage room; there was no thick insulation/​soundproofing to make the room as quiet as possible
— I was also disappointed with my massage table because I was COLD throughout the duration of my massage! After our massages were over and we were left to redress, I checked underneath the table of my boyfriend’s and mine to find out his blanket warmer was on and mine was off, which I’m assuming was this way during our whole massage
— I felt weird that there was no tip envelope in the room itself or one given to us at the receptionist counter, so none was given
— another thing that was disappointing was the fact that the massage was not even 90 minutes! It was barely even 60 minutes! I feel that it shouldn’t have been advertised as a 90-​minute couples massage with champagne and strawberries if the actual massage time is decreased due to filling out the paperwork and taking the time to actually consume the champagne and strawberries. Also, we thought we’d be given a bottle of champagne, not just a glass (although we were told we were given 2 glasses each because of the wait time we experienced)

I have scoliosis & suffer from chronic back pain. My cousin told me about Chiropractic & went to Whole Body & met Dr. Russell. He adjusted & massaged my pain away. I also got the best massage & facial for almost free with my insuraance.

Ferdinand is by far the best massage therapist I have ever been to he customizes your massage to your needs and is extremely knowledgeable of the body I’ve gone twice and I will be coming back regularly.

Small mis alignments can cause long term chronic pain, even long after you think the injury had healed.

My back fell out of alignment about a month ago while I was working out doing deadlifts. I’ve had some back issues before when I was younger, so I’ve had some previous experience with a chiropractor. I was referred to Dr. Russell through a friend, and Gee Gosh Willikers is my back back to brand new! I will be coming back here for all my back needs. Maybe even my neck. Yeah. My neck and my back! This place is awesome.

Amazing experience!!! I had the pleasure of getting a 90mins couples massage with Giovanna and Ferdinand… my boyfriend and I had our best massage EVER! they were constantly making sure we were comfortable with the pressure and position. Definitely coming back!
Pro: Great ambience and friendly staff. Easy to make reservations. hands down the best massage ever!
cons: Tiny location next to busy street of Santana row and vallyfair… sometime you can hear the street noise

Purchased a groupon and I was able to get a slot within the same week which was great! I arrived about 20 mins early to fill out the paperwork and such. I was brought in to the room at the exact time of my appt. Megan wasn’t too friendly but explained the process well. At first the massage was great however, as it went on I could feel her just fading away and not really trying or caring. Her constant yawning also didn’t help. The part that really ticked me off is that by the time she finished the massage, I changed, spoke to the receptionist and began to walk to my car I noticed it was barely 2:45 meaning I had around 20 mins cut short of my appt. Beware that they advertise a full hour and I probably got 30 mins at best of actual massage.
Three stars only because the massage at first wasn’t awful and the receptionist was a complete doll and very helpful.
Overall: I wouldn’t come back here but I wouldn’t dam the place to hell.

I rarely ever write a review but I had to share my horrible experience!
When I saw Groupon deal for a couples massage for dirt cheap at Whole Body Chiro & Massage, I thought there’s gotta be a catch. When I called them, I learned that anything too good to be true usually is…
Let me preface this review with a couple of past experiences. I’ve purchased Groupons before where I called to make an appointment AFTER the purchase just to find that they couldn’t fit me in until months out. Trying to avoid that experience altogether, I thought I’d call and see if they can fit me in THIS MONTH before I purchased the Groupon.
The girl who answered the phone kept asking if I’d purchased the Groupon yet. By the third query, I was thinking WTF?! I’ll purchase it as soon as you book the appointment and I get off the damned phone. When I told her my plan, she said that they could take payment now and will honor the Groupon. Again… WTF with the money hungry grubbiness?! I understand it’s a business but jeez!
Needless to say, this narrow minded greediness has soured me on this company. They should consider learning a little customer service and then maybe a Groupon wouldn’t be necessary. It’s a shame bcuz the place looked kinda cool.

I’ve been here twice now for a massage both times with Aurora. Aurora is awesome. She takes her time and really knows what she is doing. Whole Body has the best prices for massages and the quality is great! I would definitely recommend coming here.
Areas of improvement: Parking can be a bit difficult and the building needs to be updated, but the Whole Body space is nice on the inside.

I came here today with my boyfriend using the 90 min couples massage deal. I think that the actual massage was pretty good (4 star), but the facility can definitely use some improvements!
When we walked in, the whole place just felt kind of sketchy. The girl at the front desk was nice. There was 1 double sided form to fill out asking about general health, what body parts we want to have massaged, etc. We thought it was weird how there was a paragraph at the bottom about how there’s a $ 500 cleaning fee if you have sex in there. lol. After we filled out the forms, they put us in a small room with the strawberries and champagne. I didn’t think this felt romantic at all! The room was near a large window near the street so we heard a lot of cars. We’ve also had better couple massage treats.
I felt a lot better when I met Julianna! She was super nice and seemed really knowledgeable. She asked us what we needed and explained everything clearly. I got a massage from her and my bf got one from Niyati. Julianna checked in with me a few times to make sure everything was okay. There was pain at times, but nothing to the point where i needed to tell her to stop. She didnt make much noise (like the squishy sound when they rub the oil in between their hands, or heavy breathing etc) which was a plus! I would recommend her.
Cons:
–place needs an upgrade. Seems like each room had curtains in weird places hiding things lol.
–massage room was too bright! When I had to turn onto my back during the massage, I was blinded by the light. Julianna noticed right away and put a cloth on my eyes, but I don’t know why they don’t put curtains there.
–I told them about my problem areas, but I did not feel like there was emphasis on those areas during my massage.
Overall, I thought the massage was good! It was much better than the one I had at massage envy a couple weeks ago. I appreciated Julianna and her advice on how to care for my problem areas at home. Main thing is that I wouldn’t consider this a luxurious spa. Reg price for couples massage is $ 320 & you could definitely go to a higher end spa with that price!

A first impression is important, which is why it is great that this place has great customer service over the phone while scheduling. We called to schedule massages decently at the last minute and asked them to contact us in case there was a cancellation. Within no time there were cancellations and we headed over.
They provided a nice, comfortable environment (that didn’t feel tiny and dark) and the absolute best massages we’ve ever had (I personally had Danielle)!
They spoke to us about possibly getting our health insurance to cover future massages as additive therapy to chiropractic and we were very excited about that possibility. Unfortunately, they really dropped the ball on getting back to us about this. Our appointment was in February and it wasn’t until the end of May that they followed up with us to let us know our insurance would cover future massages. The most unfortunate part about that is that we switched health insurance provider this month. We’re bummed that we missed out! :(

This place was great! My husband and I booked a 90min couple’s massage with champagne and strawberries (we had a groupon for $ 139 which made it a steal). We left feeling relaxed and like it was money well spent. Hands down our new favorite place.
Pros: our massage therapists (Kyna and Aurora) were AMAZING! The atmosphere was welcoming from the moment we walked through the door.
Cons: took us THREE different phone calls to get a Thursday afternoon appt. I almost requested a refund because they were booked 1−2wks out. The biggest complaint I had was the TRAFFIC! The office is right on Stevens Creek across from Valley Fair so while I’m supposed to be relaxing, all I hear is cars driving by. Maybe they should turn the music up? My suggestion is don’t book an appt during rush hour. You may regret it.

Got the couple’s massage off groupon here. Everything was a pleasant experience from start to finish.
Massage therapist Megan was EXCELLENT. Normally I prefer harder massages, but there is a difference between a painful hard massage and a ‘hurts so good’ massage, and Megan was able to expertly tread on the latter. I ended up going home and conking out for an hour, despite a decent night’s rest, which is (for me) usually a great indication of a relaxing tissue massage.
