We Specialize in doing Daily Group Dog Walking (5 – 8 dogs at a time) Monday-​Friday on the trails of Marin. We also do Dog Boarding in our Home (Small & Medium Dogs) with a «Free Pet Massage» We Train and socialize all dogs using «Gentle Training & Dog Whispering Methods» We are licensed & Insured with Great References. History

Established in 1997.

I started Dog Trotters and have been serving Marin since 1997. We are located in San Rafael close to the central San Rafael exit. We walk groups of dogs (5 – 8 dogs) in San Rafael, Terra Linda, Kentfield, Ross and San Anselmo. We love giving all our Dogs T-​Touch, Free Pet Massage, Good Exercise and Playtime with other dogs. Don is amazing! He really makes you feel like your pet is being loved and cared for when you are away. I highly highly highly reccommend Dog Trotters! He takes care of our dog Layla when we leave for trips back East. I hate leaving her and he makes sure to keep me posted on how she is. He even sends me pictures of her. I feel she is always in safe hands. If you need someone to watch your pet overnight he is the man for the job!

My two chihuahua terrier dogs love their walks with Don David. They come home tired and happy which makes me a happy dog mom! Don pays special attention to one of my dogs who has anxiety, by giving her massage while they are in his truck I’m so grateful to have found reliable, caring dog lovers to walk my babies. I highly recommend!

Don David has been cat sitting for my 2 cats for the past year and I have been very happy with his service. It’s clear that he cares for animals and the cats are always happy to see him. No matter have long or short my vacation has been he is always accommodating and send lots of updates to let me know who the kitties are doing.

We have a chaotic work schedule, and we’re often out of town for work. Don has always been very accommodating, especially last min! He’ll take our dog out 3−4x a day when we’re gone, and I always get updates via text when our dog has been walked, usually accompanied by a picture of our dog having a great time with the other dogs. Its very refreshing compared to the service you get from a typical kennel, and far more personal. It’s those little details that make us feel a lot better about leaving our pup in someone else’s hands for a few days.

Don David has been taking care of our dog DeeDee for a few years now-​DeeDee loves him! Every time she is dropped off she is happy, tired from her adventure from that day. We have her walked twice a week while we are at work so DeeDee can play with her friends while there is still daylight. She is so much more energetic now having this routine. Don has been just fantastic with our energetic labrador puppy! He started visiting her twice a day on weekdays when she was just 10 weeks old. Don has worked on training and socializing her, and she now goes for long group walks and ADORES them. We are extremely pleased with Don’s responsiveness and professionalism, and our puppy LOVES Don and her new dog pack. Could not be happier, and we highly, highly recommend Dogtrotters.

Don was great! Couldn’t of asked for a better dog sitter. He just has a great aura about him. Super nice, friendly and understanding. Our dog, Moose, (maltese/​yorkie mix) stayed with him for a week while we were on vacation. My dog has some anxiety and Don always massaged his neck to relieve some of the anxiety and I could tell when Moose came home he was in a great mood. I will definitely be using Don again and I would recommend him to anyone.

What can I say about Don David? He is kind, loves animals and nature, an excellent communicator and he’s a professional. I am Don David’s biggest fan! He is a fabulous dog walker as he provides excellent care for my Shih Tzu on group walks. He takes the dogs on hikes and never unloads the dogs in a dog park for an hour. My small dog is in tip top shape from all his exercise. The socialization he provides for the dogs is excellent. Depending on the day he has small dog groups or a great mix of various sizes.
Best of all, Don David texts us dog owners, photos throughout the week of our dogs on their hike. It is so nice to know my dog is in a safe environment and playing with dogs of all sizes. I can see that he is happy!
I highly recommend Dog Trotters as your dog walking/​pet sitter service.

Don David is amazing! He has been walking our three year old terrier mutt, Mrs. Chips, for close to a year now and she’s never had it so good! Don is reliable, great with all types of dogs and people! (which isn’t true of all dog-​walkers.) He always has something positive to say when he greets us and pays careful attention to Mrs. Chips and the pack of pooches he takes on his daily hikes throughout the Marin trails. He often mixes it up with new places and makes sure the dogs are always well looked after, no matter the weather or conditions outside. I feel you can trust him with your keys and your four legged-​friends implicitly. We’ve even called him for last minute overnight pet sitting and he is very accommodating. We absolutely love Don — highly recommended!

We are so happy that we found Don. We have 2 big dogs and had to put one down about 6 months ago. Our girl dog was left sad and lonely, even with regular walks. We decided to get her involved with a group of dogs for hikes and came across Don on the internet. I found Don David on Unilocal when I suddenly lost my other dog walker and was in a pickle. He came over that day and started immediately. It was the best decision I’ve made for my dog Chili. He is kind, reliable, trustworthy, and a pleasure to deal with. He leaves a note for me each day with a recap of what they did. With my other Walker, I never knew if they showed up that day or not. Rest assured Don David always does. I don’t have to worry or feel guilty about my dog when I’m at work. I highly recommend him to anyone!

I have had a really good experience boarding and doing walks with Don David for my spirited little 10 year old Peke the last couple years. He really loves animals and is great with them. Very reliable and dependable and I am very grateful to have him in the area! Will tell you how big the groups walk is that your considering and take special requests for care. His heart is in the right place and is definitely not doing this just to make money– really caring and will take good care of your dog.

My wife and I, along with our GoldenDoodle and Standard Poodle were visiting the Bay Area, staying in Sausalito and needed a dog sitter for a couple of nights. We had not planned in advance.
I contacted Don through his
website and he agreed to dog-​sit at our rental house for two nights with only two day’s advance notice. Don came over to meet our dogs beforehand, and we immediately felt comfortable as did our dogs.
Don took excellent care of our dogs over those two nights. I can’t say enough about how kind and gentle he was with the dogs. His rates were very reasonable also.
I highly recommend Don to anyone seeking dog sitting, walking, pet massage, etc. We will gladly reach out to Don ion any future trips.

I had to go out of town for several days and was unacquainted with the local dog sitting providers. I called Don of Dog Trotters and was glad I did. He took excellent care of my 13-​year-​old chow chow. Don obviously has experience handling and caring for dogs, even protective and finicky types like my chow.
In addition, Don charges reasonable rates, keeps in touch via text, and gave me the feeling that he’d be able to handle any emergency should one arise. He is also very personable.
I definitely recommend Dog Trotters.
