Acorn Learning Center

We love you Ms. Dawn! Teachers are super friendly and they take really good care of our kids. We’ve been going to acorn for the past 6 years. Ms Mona and Ms Christina are soooo friendly. My kids love going to school. They do a really great job with safety and fun and they do teach them a thing or too also!
Keep it up!

My first child went through Acorn and now is in elementary school. She was in Ms. Dawn and Ms. Mona’s class. My child was particularly attached to both teachers and both teachers accommodated her needs to be close to them whenever there was a standby teacher around. I saw my child grow to trust the school environment and made many friends. I became familiar with alot of the parents and families of the friends and all seem very loving and caring — a positive influence for my child. I also saw my child grow educationally — from barely knowing how to write to learning her ABCs, numbers and spelling of simple words before she reached kindergarten. There are teacher/​parent conferences that show you the progression of the child’s education. My child and I loved all of the teachers there. I also love Ms. Colleen even though she was never a direct teacher of my child. My child would run up to her whenever she sees her and Ms. Colleen would pick her up and give her the most loving hugs you can imagine.
My second child is going through Acorn now and I look forward to see what she learn from school everyday. She was singing a Good Morning/​Buenos Dias at home one day. And I did not even know she knew how to sing Spanish!!!

My daughter has been attending Acorn for a year and a half now, and so far we are rather pleased. As a first time parent and a stay at home mom, sending my child «away from me» was terrifying for both me and my daughter. We tried our best to prepare her for the day she’s a «big girl» and goes to school. She was so excited, but of course on the day, she was scared and didn’t want to go. There were tears and screaming from both my daughter and myself. It was a very sad day. But the teachers, Ms. Mona and Ms. Dawn, were both super kind, supportive, gentle and understanding and made the transition very smooth. Fast forward a year and a half later and now my daughter LOVES school. She’s made many friends, who we have many playmates with and I even consider some of the teachers our friends.
Ms. Dawn now works in the office. We love her. She addresses our concerns, helps us and has a very open door policy. She keeps the school running smoothly and is always on top of things.
Now, I have 2 girls and I will be sending our little one there when she gets older. I am very happy with Acorn for the work they do and mostly for the love they’ve given my daughter. She has grown into a more confident child and I believe the encouragement and support she gets at Acorn plays a role in that.

We love this school! The teachers are great, the school is alway very clean and our kids love it. We used to take our kids to another daycare and drop offs were alway so hard — lots of tears. As soon as we came here we noticed an immediate difference. Our kids were happy. The school always has fun activities. Totally disagree with the few bad reviews.

Acorn learning center is ok over all. My daughter has been going there for 1.5 years now, and she has learned a lot. The director and asst director are very helpful overall. According to me, there is zero turnover of teachers now a days, which is a good thing. My daughter is only 4, but she can read almost every word she sees, and can write too.
The fees, in my opinion is way too high, I pay $ 1205 for full time, which is tooooo much. Even a $ 100 decrease would be great. I believe they have the location to their advantage.
Another con is, THE LOCATION IS NOT SAFE — MS SALLY/​MSKIM, PLEASE INSTALL TWO SPEED BUMPS IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL BEFORE ONE OF OUR KIDS/​PARENTS IS HIT BY A CAR. I have even thought about calling 911 many times when I see cars speeding (esp cars to and from the library).
