Established in 1965.

Premier has been operated by Suzanne and Roth Schleck for more than 10 years. Roth is a graduate of West Point and a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot. With a diverse background in the business world, we endeavor to bring clean, modern business practices to a business that provides old world craftsmanship. Great service from start to finish. My BMW specialist referred me here when the rear window started coming detached from the convertible top. The owner, Barkley, took my first phone call and answered all my questions with detailed knowledge. He also provided a ballpark estimate. It was a good price, and Barkley explained exactly how he arrived at it. Now, anyone who knows anything about estimating work knows that you can’t be sure until you SEE it, but when I brought my car in Barkley reaffirmed the number he’d given me over the phone. That shows knowledge and character.

So I come in from SoCal, for a Niner game at nearby Levi Stadium, I have a rear window on the drop top open up on a 2002 vette, As I was not from there or planned on being in town long, I thought I would drop by and see if I could get some help/​hints for the trip home. The gentleman in the warehouse came right out and helped me and then the Manager Barkley showed up and helped immediately. Thanks for the help, great work top is still sealed without replacing but when I do get a new top, I plan on returning. Thanks Guys

I have had work done by Premier Auto on two of my cars a Porsche 911 and a Maserati Spyder. Both had problems with malfunctioning convertible tops. I have not had much success
with the dealerships being able to resolve these problems, costly and time consuming.
Premier Auto repaired both tops quickly and for what I consider to be very reasonable cost
wise. I would use their services again and highly recommend to others.

I brought my car here to get new carpet for my car. You see, a new battery I had in the back seat had fallen over and leaked all over the carpet floor. The battery acid was eating through the carpet quickly, so I had to get it fixed ASAP. Otherwise, The acid would have eaten right though the car’s metal floor. Luckily, premier auto was able to squeeze me in the same day! The owner was very friendly, straight forward, accommodating, and knowledgeable. He even gave me a very fair price. Only setback was the manufacture (Toyota) kept delaying the delivery date of new carpet. Only Toyota had the exact color I needed so there wasn’t much choice as to the vendor for the order. Instead of 2 weeks, it took about 4 weeks for Toyota to deliver the new carpet. Toyota kept giving owner excuses for the delay. The guys at premier auto worked quickly and got my new carpet installed same day they received new carpet. Talk about being efficient and excellent service! My new car carpet looks great. The layers below the carpet that were also damaged by the acid were also replaced. These guys are very thorough and sure know what they are doing. I highly recommend this place!

Awesome place. I stopped by to put a new leather on my armrests. I took it all apart already and just give the arm rests and raw material I ordered before. They did really good job with an reasonable price tag. We will see how it will work, but looks solid and nice so far.

Excellent service. We bought a new car recently where the front seat was too long for my very short (5′ tall) wife. The front of the seat itself was sort of cutting into her calf and under-​knee area. It was just something subtle she didn’t pick-​up on a test drive, but that became annoying during long commutes, etc. We presented this problem to Premier. The manager, Barkley, listened carefully and patiently and brought out his tech to see what could be done. They ended up shaving about an inch from the front of the seat and re-​attaching/​sewing it so no one would ever know we made the adjustment. It looks great and and my wife is far more comfortable now. Also, I asked them if I could make an appointment to do the work while I waited. Not only did they honor that appointment, but they also exceeded the time in which they promised to have the job done. Just solid, quality, professional service all around.

I am extremely pleased with the recent installation of a convertible top on my 350Z here at Premier.
Barkley, the new owner, demonstrated some of the best customer service I have ever received in the world of auto repair (or anywhere, really). He went the extra mile to work with me so that I would feel comfortable with my choices and with the quality of work being performed. He recommended I replace my old hybrid vinyl roof with a cloth version, and he was absolutely right… it looks awesome!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Premier to anyone I know. My hats off to your technicians, and to you Barkley… Keep up the good work!

I’ve no idea what a lot of people are writing about in the reviews here. The guy I spoke to exemplified what attentiveness to customer needs is. I’ll grant you, I just dropped in and didn’t call, but the owner of the place couldn’t have been more helpful.
I got a new rear window put into a Porsche Boxster S, and have been extremely impressed with the work. The owner took a lot of time to explain my options, explain exactly what they would do, then after the job was done he was really good showing me how to best «bed-​in» the new window. All in all I would be extremely happy to recommend the work this place does.

I have had a 1963 Ford Galaxie for about 8 – 9 years now. I have always wanted to get the interior done. I finally made a choice to bring it to these guys.
They are about half way done with it as of yesterday. It is turning out 100 times better than I imagined.
Roth, I think the owner, has been very involved and helpful during the whole process.
Can’t wait to get my car!!!

As others have posted, I’m extremely disappointed in the poor customer service I received over the phone. I was calling to get a ballpark estimate to replace my convertible top which had been slashed. I couldn’t even get the guy to even give me a quote without bringing the car in. I politely told him I worked in Los Altos and it would be inconvenient for me to drive down to Santa Clara. The response I got was that «it’s an easy drive straight down El Camino». Apparently this guy thinks I am a lady of leisure and have nothing else to do.
He told me there would be more to the job than just replacing the top, because they have to give a full inspection. Sorry, but the top is in great working condition other than the fact it has a hole in it from the idiot who slashed it. Two other shops were fine giving me either verbal or email quotes, so they will get my business.
Sorry Premier, you will lose more customers to competitors based on your poor phone customer service. Business must be good for you to afford to turn away potential business!

Like others, I was a bit annoyed that I could not get any information over the phone after talking to the first person and then to one of the mechanics. I wanted to get a ballpark estimate and some advice on the differences between a factory or an aftermarket top, neither of which they gave.
They kept telling me to bring the car in even after I said «I simply want to replace the top, how much would that cost?», they insisted that they wanted to talk to me face to face and see the damage themselves (as if they need to look at it to know how much it would cost to replace the top).
My suspicion is: every salesperson knows they have a better chance of making a sale if the customer makes the commitment to physically come to the store – at that point the customer already spent a lot of time to get there, so it’s easier to just get it done.
I can’t speak for the quality of their service, but it really annoys me they use that sale tactic, which is why I’m giving 2 stars.

I took my 1995 325i to get an estimate on repairing the top and leather seats. The stitching on the top had worn away, but the top itself was in great shape. I knew that there was plenty of life left in the top and I did not want to simply go for the new top option. I had previously taken my car to another place and all the salesman wanted to do was sell me a new top. He quoted an outrageous price for a 15 year old car and he tired to sell me on getting new seats when the only thing that was wrong was a little sun damage — no rips no tears.
Roth and his staff are great. Roth listens to what the customer wants and gives options to meet your budget. He is patient and answered my questions about how to get the best options for my money. I was happy to see array of cars that were at the repair shop — BMW’s to Honda’s — they do it all.
After going to Premier I now know what excellent customer service is and it is at Premier Auto Tops and Interiors! I have a 1990 XJS classic convertible and I will be getting the headliner repaired at Premier Auto Top & Interiors.

These folks are truly as good as it gets in their field. I first visited Premier in the mid-1990’s in search of interior work on my Buick Reatta. I moved away before getting the work done, but was impressed with the folks there. When the top on my 2007 SKY was cut, they replaced it quickly and did the job right. They were very helpful and educational about convertible tops, Roth and company put a personal touch on the work and that made a big difference. These folks care about you and want to give you their best.
My top recently needed a little TLC and I returned to visit them and they took care of the issue that very day without hesitation. Ron and Jacqueline and everyone there are the best. This team has earned their moniker «Premier». I wouldn’t go anywhere else for Convertible or interior upholstery/​leather work.

I’ve been trying to secure the part I needed to fix my broken top from the dealer for 4 months (I paid $ 220 up front for the part they were taking forever to send me… after that, they would charge more to install, etc) .
I finally found Premier Upholstery and they located a *set* of parts (left and right sides), for $ 209 in *minutes*. It’s moments like this that you realize it pays to go to a specialist. After four months of waiting on the dealer, Premier Upholstery turned it all around and my car was fixed in a day (with an overnight to let the glue dry) for *way* less than the dealer would have charged me –and it look brand spanking new!

(as for the other review where the guy complained they didn’t give a quote over the phone, there is nothing odd about them wanting to see the car and give the correct quote the first time instead of being locked into an off-​the-​kuff quote that they are not sure they can follow through on. Evaluating the situation and giving a well informed quote is just good business practice. If you just wanted a part quote, you should have called the parts place. Not the solid mechanic who didn’t want to steer you wrong.)

I liked the reviews for this shop, so I called regarding replacing my convertible top, which had been vandalized. The guy I spoke with asked me to bring my car in for an estimate.
I asked him about the price for the top itself, but he told me he wouldn’t quote a price over the phone. I clarified that I was not asking for the repair price, but was only asking for the price of the replacement top. He refused to tell me what they would charge for the part.
I have called dozens of shops over the years for their pricing on parts. This is the FIRST TIME EVER that someone has refused to tell me a part price. The next place I telephoned (Bill’s Auto & Boat Upholstery) not only told me the price of the top, but he also told me the price of a new liner (that I hadn’t even thought about), and further, he gave me a ballpark estimate for the full repair. While I don’t expect a repair estimate over the phone (since I understand their need to actually see your car), I do expect the courtesy of at least a ball-​park cost for a PART.

I came here to get the back cover (inboard engine cover) of my dad’s boat replaced after I left it partially open on 680, causing it to rip off completely. If you were driving behind me on that trip, im sorry
Premier did a great job fixing what was damaged, they replaced it in a couple weeks time, and designed a new one that perfectly matched the rest of the boat’s upholstry. They also delt with the insurance issues involved which was convenient. Roth, the owner, and the rest of his staff were very helpful along every step of the way. 100% recommended.

I took our Honda S2000 to Premier to replace the 8 year old convertible top. Roth and his team did a wonderful job and Roth really takes the time to walk you through all of the options, the pros/​cons of each. This business is an example of what customer service should always be!
We love our new top, it is higher quality than the original and more than $ 1000 less than if I had the dealer replace it with the same low quality materials!
