My wife an I were in town for Thanksgiving and thus our experience may not be the norm. Issac’s had a special Thanksgiving menu. I didnt want to slip into a tryptophan coma, so I ordered the steak with mashed potatoes. While Issac’s was about ¾th full, it took about 35 minutes or so to receive our meal. We ordered from the bar and i think the bartenders were embarrassed for our wait. The steak was very tasty and in size it was truely fit for Fred Flintstone. The mashed potatoes were average, not particularly noteworthy in any regard. I tried my best, but i could barely eat half the meal and i gave the rest of it to a homeless gentleman as I walked to my car. Not bad, but not a foodies paradise.

We stopped by here twice during our long weekend in Savannah, and both times we left with good feelings about this place. Quick note: we didn’t order food, our only experience was at the bar. We never saw much of a crowd, but both of the bartenders we met were extremely friendly. We had a great time sitting at the bar and yammering on about whatever the current topic of conversation was. If you’re looking for a huge beer selection, you won’t find that here, but there are some lesser-known beers to try, definitely more than some of the other places we stopped in during our trip.

I stopped at this bar on a ghost pub crawl tour. I had the Knock Out Punch which is one of the best drinks I’ve ever had in Savannah! If you have a chance definitely stop by to try this drink and hear the ghost story behind it!

I got crab nachos it took 30 mins for us to get our food which was not complicated. It was stale and soggy chips, diced lettuces and crab that was probably from a can. There was only 4 other people in the restaurant. Seriously don’t bother stopping here!

Just OK at best… it wasn’t crowded, but the service was still slow. And the back half of the bar was odd, kinda like they needed the extra space but didn’t want to spend anything on it.

Came here as part of a haunted pub crawl. The bar was empty before we got there, yet the bartender seemed almost annoyed by our presence. I’ve experienced nothing but delightful service in town, so his attitude really soured the experience. Didn’t try the food, but the specials did sound good. However, due to this server’s disposition, I won’t be back.

Wow, so almost nearly good, but not. So Saturday ended up going here with my partner and a female friend. Ran into another couple we are friendly with, so they invited us to join them on their table they had reserved on the terrace. Who knew they had a terrace! Ordered Mojito, meh Ordered house pinot with dinner, meh, but half the price of the mojito Dinner for me was the crab stuffed grouper with seasonal sides. The grouper/crab was great. GREAT! The sides(of which you had no choice) were mashed potatoes and steamed mixed vegetables, which I swear on a stack of phone books were prechopped frozen store brand mixed vegetables, all stems and ends. Just wholly inedible. $ 26.00… Service was friendly and efficient. So in the end, loved the terrace, the service, the experience(half way through dinner the large group sharing the terrace with us asked if we were a band, then ended up joining our table, love Savannah!) and the protein part of the entrée’, but just not quite worth the $$$

Slow service, food was mediocre at best. At the end of my meal the waitress added a burger to my check that I did not order or receive. When I asked her to correct the bill she said that she had already entered it into the system and that someone would have to pay for it. When a manager came out, he did not offer to fix the bill. Instead he threatened to call the police if someone in my party did not pay for the order. Who does that?

We passed the chain restaurants looking for local flavor. We saw the menu in the window & decided to give it a try. The entres were reasonably priced, but special sounded delicious(chicken breast stuffed with spinach, roasted red peppers & feta cheese topped with a creamy lemon sauce — $ 14.99) so that’s what we had. It was beautifully presented & delicious. The service was good & everyone was friendly. This(February) is definitely the slow season. C’mon in.

This place is kinda cool and has some history. Word on the streets is that it used to be a boxing ring back during the Civil War, there was a bare fist match between two men to the death. The man that killed the other, supposedly not intentionally, was hung outside the ring and then buried in the basement. People that work there say it’s haunted, esp. near the bathroom upstairs… buuuut I didn’t stick around to find out. No way Jose.

St Patrick’s Day is not the best time to base a review of a place in Savannah. That being said, I’ll try to be fair. Because of the holiday, they had three menu options: fried, fried, and grilled. I went with the cheeseburger, and it was pretty good. A little on the well done side but not dry. It was still pretty good meat served nice and hot. After the parade and a bit of walking in the rain, it hit the spot. The place is a large rectangular room with maybe a dozen tables and a short(maybe six stool) bar. There’s a decent selection at the tap. I could see locals making this their hangout to avoid the meat market and tourist bars nearby.
