Good spot for breakfast and brunch fare. Things to try: loco moco and biscuits & gravy. Quirky, fun atmosphere. It took a long time to be seated. My server was great though.

Ordered the benedict eggs and bloody mary. Also ordered a side cesar salad. The service was great and our server was super sweet! I enjoyed every bite of my dish and sip of my drink. The cesar dressing is super garlicy and strong so beware

Arrived in Seattle 12 pm and we were eager to explore and start eating. Luckily, my boyfriends aunt and uncle love Seattle and told us to go here one of the days. The staff was so friendly and we got seated it right away.
Grilled cheese is the best thing ever !

We have been there several times before. But last night was not a good night. A family member ordered the clam linguine and the serving size was very small. We asked for extra noodles and the waitress was hesitant on bringing out what we asked for. I ordered the honey fried chicken for my daughter and the chicken was practically burnt and the carrots were cold. It was obviously a bad night for the restaurant and we definitely aren’t coming back.

Spicy hash browns, FTW! The portions were huge and filling for a full day of Seattle adventures.
A good brunch option for the gluten free folk. They have GF oatmeal and many egg dishes where the bread options can be omitted.
They serve Stumptown coffee, which was a welcome surprise when I sipped that misleading diner cup of joe — strong and delicious!
I ate a standard breakfast — eggs over easy, with hash browns, a biscuit, and two slices of bacon. What makes this better than the average breakfast? The jam for the biscuit. Might have been my favorite part of the meal. Then, there’s that bacon. Thick cut, hearty slices of real tasty meat. Oh, and those hash browns! Would have loved them a touch crispier, but the flavor was top notch — just the right amount of heat to make ‘em interesting.
We didn’t have to wait long for a table. There’s a definite Hawaiian vibe with the décor and certain themed dishes + some love for Seattle too. There’s a full bar and it was busy that day with brunch drinkers watching football.

Came here craving the kind of brunch only a down-​home diner can offer. We picked this place based entirely on its appearance from the street, and I have to say, 5 Spot is a little more shi-​shi than I expected. The menu is a nice mix of southwestern influence (huevos rancheros), Vermont (real maple syrup and short stacks, polenta with ragout) and Grandma’s (hashes and scrambles). Prices are around 10 – 15 bucks for breakfast entrees, not including beverages.
I opted for the red pepper corn cakes and have to say, those griddle cakes are somethin’ else! So much so that I took one bite and immediately cut pieces for my tablemates, saying «HRmmHM YOUMHGOTTA TRY THITHmm» and then they joined in happy chewing approval. So definitely get the corn cakes. My companions had the chicken fried steak (classic, and enormous, and yummy) and the breakfast polenta (also tasty, but third in the rankings that day).
Service was a little slow, but it was a fairly busy weekend morning, so I’ll give that to ‘em. I’d still absolutely come back for those cakes.

Damn, is this place popular! I give it four stars for fun atmosphere and a fun menu. I deduct a star for the following:
1) Not the friendliest service– these servers are there to take your order and get it to you– that’s it! However I have only been there during breakfast rushes.
2) The biscuits are so freaking delicious, but last time something was terribly wrong with them. Not sure what ingredient they missed, but it tasted rubbery and lacking flakiness.
3) Either you will love the hashbrowns, or hate them. If you love rosemary, you’ll love them. If you hate rosemary… don’t order them!
I usually get a goat cheese omelet and a bloody mary. Be prepared to wait at least 20−25+ minutes on weekend mornings (or shall I say, late mornings, because I never get there before 10:30 or 11AM).
Overall, a fun Queen Anne spot. I’ll be back (because I personally like rosemary).

Solid institutional restaurant in Queen Anne. I love how they update the place and menu regularly – the themes are amazing. The food is good and the portions are great! It’s definitely worth visiting a few times a year (or more) just to check out what’s tasty and new.

Edit: After reading the Unilocal reviews, I learned that the restaurant changes its theme. I was under the impression that the «Vermont» theme was permanent. The more you know, huh?

The 5 Spot is up at the tippy top of Queen Anne hill. I didn’t realize until I got there that the place is «Vermont» themed. Being a native New Englander, I almost immediately became very skeptical. Our server was quick and friendly. I didn’t realize that there was extensive seating in the «back» area… this place is bigger than it appears. I counted my lucky stars that we weren’t seating beneath the model cows suspended from the ceiling. I had a stack of blueberry pancakes, a side of bacon, and freshly squeezed OJ. The maple syrup was definitely REAL VT maple syrup. I thought the pancakes were perfect… just like ones I’ve had in Vermont Cafes. «Bacon was nice and thick, cooked just right, and the OJ was delightful.

Took our group of 9 out-​of-​towners here on a Sunday AM. It was packed out the door, but didn’t end up waiting more than 15 – 20 minutes for a table! Every single person loved their food. Warm and cozy atmosphere — really great option for when you want to treat yourself to a fancier brunch.

This place has not changed over the years! I had not been here since before Unilocal was invented. They still have the same great service and rotating menu. We were here for brunch and although they do not take reservations, our group was able to be seated immediately. They have quite a bit of space although it is a wildly popular spot.
Vermont was the theme when we went and it was hard to imagine what that might entail. I had the egg sandwich and it hit the «spot.» There was a fried egg and the bun was so soft it melted in your mouth. The vibe here is cool and I hope you have the same experience we had!

My last meal would have to be from 5 spot. The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly. The hash browns were cooked in chorizo oil. It’s like I died and had breakfast in heaven.

This place is a fun little diner at the top of Queen Anne that is worth a visit. It’s a glorified Diner with a rotating menu (based on different regions of the US) that helps put it above places like Denny’s and IHOP.
When I went, the menu was Hawaiian, with the restaurant decorated similarly with pictures of volcanoes and tropical fish. I thought that was a nice touch. I’d like to go back and see it when they’ve changed the menu. I’m not sure how often that happens, although I’d venture a guess that it’s only a few times a year since they re-​do the look of entire restaurant based on the menu theme.
The food was alright. I don’t think there was anything about it that really made me say, «oh man, I can’t wait to go back for the _​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​». But it’s pleasant, if unremarkable.
Service was a little slow. It was busy, but not so horribly busy that it should have taken 20 minutes to get someone to give us the check.
All in all, you could do a lot worse for brunch in Seattle. I’m not clamoring to go back this weekend or anything, but I will return in the future. I would recommend finding another option if the wait for a table is going to be more than 10 – 15 minutes.

My boyfriend and I were searching for a good breakfast/​brunch place to go and 5 Spot kept coming up in all of our searches so we decided to check it out. This place had a cool atmosphere and really friendly staff.
We ordered the special of the day, which was a smoked salmon eggs benedict and also the cinnamon swirl French toast w caramel sauce. And of course we ordered two mimosas to complete the perfect Sunday brunch.
The food came out in good time and it was delicious! I was thoroughly surprised with the French toast because it was not overpoweringly sweet like it sounds. The hash browns that came with the eggs benedict were perfectly seasoned as well.
As non-​Seattle dwellers, I’m glad we followed our instincts to check out this place that we kept coming across! So next time you’re in Seattle, don’t miss out on a great brunch here!

The menu has so many options, it might be hardest decision you have to make all day. Sometimes you go to a place that sets the bar so high it ruins other dinning experiences for a while. This is one of those places.
I got the 5 spot, it is the signature dish.
I opted for the pork chop. So so good, one of the best pork chops I’ve had this year. It was not only seasoned to perfection, it was cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns at 5 spot are something else. The hashbrowns were amazing, they have more flavor and more depth than average hashbrowns. Even after they had sat on the plate for a while they held in their heat and were steaming. Very moist and very savory.
I can’t wait to go back to this place, everything was amazing.

How have I not written about 5 Spot earlier? I love this place — one part diner, one part bar, décor changing to keep things lively and fresh (not as funny when you’re inebriated and very confused as to why nothing is the same as before!) But no matter the season, the décor, or the menu this place doesn’t fail to satisfy the hunger you enter with.
The last time I was here was for Easter brunch when the menu was southern, and the décor western-​y. I loved everything about the place as soon as I walked in. The wait times for brunch are reasonable and service is really good. This time I came in after a few drinks and the Hawaiian theme was just what I needed after a fall Hawaiian vacation! I had the salmon lomi lomi cakes and my friend had the chicken fried steak special with smashed potatoes. The food isn’t prepared in a new or special way, it’s just done normally, but well. And it tastes exactly like the comfort food you’re looking for when coming here. On a weeknight after 9pm parking and service abound!

Great place! They had a Hawaiian theme when we went, which was cool. I got the Kalua pork hash, which was good but they should have called it the Kalua potato and cabbage hash because there wasn’t very much pork in it. My boyfriend for the 5 points breakfast with a pork chop and it was delicious. I definitely had some entrée envy. Coffee was strong, service was fast. I would recommend.

I came into Queen Anne for brunch and this was one of the most highly rated places – I was glad I stopped by! We came at 930 on Sunday and I didn’t have to wait at all for a table for 2 people. The waiter was super nice and seated me right away and was quick with our order. The ambiance was pretty lively but it was not too loud so you could still have a conversation. We were in and out within 1 hour– the service was great and attentive!
We got the Val Verde scramble and the cinnamon swirl French toast – both were amazing! I don’t eat meat and they were nice enough to replace the chorizo with roasted red potatoes and those potatoes are probably the best potatoes I’ve ever had – they were actually roasted to perfection. The scramble was well done with plenty of avocado (my favorite!) and the cinnamon French toast was just as good – their caramel sauce they put on it really takes it to another level. Their red pepper corn cakes were a bit dry so I didn’t finish it, but the scramble, potatoes, and French toast were more than enough to keep us satisfied.

My hubby got his sandwich that he always gets and LOVES… This time, I got the ranch hand eggs… On the menu the concept sounded amazing as I love all of the things in it. Eggs, black beans, cheese, tortilla… But the taste wasn’t for my palette. The cheese was melted in the tortilla so it was tough and the chile sauce was overwhelming, so much so that its all I really tasted. I’ll stick to the goat in the garden next time.
Service was impeccable as always and the server went out of her way to bring my husband extra bacon :) he’s a happy Man!

This place has consistently been great food with top notch service for the last 10 years I have been coming here. I think whatever you order will be good, lines in the weekend so be prepared to wait.
