Chase Bank

Review is for this particular location, not all Chase banks in general.
Apparently, the «banking with Chase is now easier than ever with ATM check deposit» is a mandate on customer behavior, not an optional bonus feature.
Came into this branch, went to the desk to fill out a deposit slip (there’s a stack of them there, so this so far appears to be an option), then stood behind the barrier to wait my turn. There’s only one person working, but there’s not a line or anything, just me waiting, which I don’t mind.
A new person appears and tells me to come over to the newly opened window. He passed me the little thing to slide my card and I hand over the deposit slip and signed check. And he tells me to go out to the ATM to do this. REJECTED?!
Depositing a check like a normal person is NOT an option (despite stacks of deposit slips available at multiple deposit slip stations). The branch was not busy, the person being served when I first arrived the only other customer. This was rude, uncalled for, and poor customer service.

I came by this location for a standard fee reversal. I use my account on a daily basis for multiple businesses as well as my full time employment checks. I haven’t had a fee reversal in the 10 years I’ve been a customer (WaMu and so forth). I haven’t even been hit with a fee at all this entire period. For the first time, I got a very nominal fee that I know a banker can resolve with ease.
What I thought would be a standard reversal instead required me having to wait 20 minutes and also having to talk to not one, not two, but three people before I was told that they won’t do it. The teller says, wait for the banker. The banker comes along to help, then says, wait for the supervisor. Finally, the supervisor comes along and says, no can do. I say I want to close my account — she smiles, and says, no problem.
I’m right now in the process of moving all my business over to Bank of America, a bank that’s waived over $ 100 in fees for me over 2 years that I’ve been a customer with them. I came to this Chase to see if they’d waive a $ 12 fee for a long-​time customer with no such requests in 10 years of being a customer, and taking in mind that all my direct deposits and billpays are set up with them.
I’m no longer a Chase customer. After the service at this location, it was an easy decision to close the account — it’ll also be an easy decision not to use any Chase tied credit cards anymore (though I won’t go out and close those).

I just moved to Seattle area from Hawaii and decided to go with Chase because they offered a monetary deposit if you initiated a checking account with them. I went after work so I was not in a hurry. The banker that I met with was very friendly, informative and made the transition very easy. I was impressed with the overall appeal of the bank and the staffs overall appearance and professionalism. Im not sure if this bank was bad in the past, but I really enjoyed the experience.

This is meant as a review of ALL Chase Banks, originating from corporate all the way down. The main problem I have with Chase, as with most large banks throughout the country, is their disdain and disrespect for the very individuals who keep them in business. Ever since they made the deal with the government in a WAMU coup d’état, they have treated their new transfer clientele as refugees to be abused. Their advertising proved cunning audacity by claiming «Finally, a bank in WA you can trust.» –yeah right. I’m sure some, if not most, other national bank brands are equally as dishonest, disrespectful, and greed-​centric; But to treat their new clients as prisoners to be bullied? Like being their customer is an honor? It’s deplorable. The brand is both invasive and evasive. No wonder they continue to lose long-​term clientele in droves. Thank goodness for BECU and the host of other Savings and Loans that treat their users like family. Not like criminals.
Makes one wonder what «Chase» really means. Chasing you away? Chasing after ex-​customers? Chasing after your money? –their actions prove all three.
At this rate, the brand won’t be around much longer. I give it 3 more years, tops.

This is a branch located between Seneca and University on 3^rd street.
It doesn’t have a huge sign saying Chase which made it hard to look for.
They have ATMs and is a big branch.

The line staff at this bank were very helpful, however the manager was horrible. The bank lost my checks and were unable to tell me where my checks were sent.
Rather than trying to be helpful, the manager tried to intimidate me by telling me that if I left Chase — they would not help me if there were any problems with my checks being stolen.
The countless bad stories have become almost cliché around the water cooler. You tell your coworker what happened to you, and they tell you I have a worse story. They lost my refinancing paperwork, so I was unable to lock in that low rate. Or an unauthorized amount of money was taken out of my account, so I bounced checks. Chase wont help me. Or they are charging me $ 10 for free checking. The stories always end with how Chase would not help the person.
I have since closed my account and I’m very happy that I did.

I finally got my money back after writing to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC),
. I suggest that anyone with similar banking issues document all their interactions with the bank, and contact the OCC.

Why doesn’t
ever work? I want to pay my credit card and see my balances and move on with my life. That should take 5min, not 30min of me trying to login and trying to get the page to load and still nothing.
Seriously. Chase sucks. Going into the bank sucks because they try to sell their banking to you. Calling sucks because it’s impossible to get ahold of a person and not a machine. Their internet sucks because every other day it’s down and the other days it’s slow as mud.
The only thing I like about Chase is that I can get to an ATM in five minutes and the ATM deposits my checks without me having to deal with a person, but considering how I barely ever get checks and need cash and my needs are primarily to see my balances and pay bills and credit cards, this isn’t working for me.
I’m thinking Chase and I might really be done here.

I could give the whole spiel about how Chase sucks, but I’m sure everyone has heard that by now. WaMu: good, Chase: bad. I come in here to deposit by paycheck because it’s close to where I work. Usually I’m in, out, get on with my day. One of the last times I came here I was in line (there was one teller up front) waiting. I noticed some dudes in suits in the back just standing around. I thought ‘why the hell doesn’t one of them get up here and help?’ Well just a few seconds later one of them told me he could help me with my deposit, finally! He took me back to his desk and said he wanted to look up my account to ‘make sure everything looked good’. Ahhh yes, right. Basically this means they want to try to get you to upgrade your accounts, credit card, whatever. I sit there for a good 15 minutes saying no to everything (how many of my buses have gone by at this point?). I have 4 bank accounts and 1 credit card with you guys and you still do this to me? In my opinion this is terrible customer service. I don’t think this company would know good service if it bit them in the ass. And at the end of all this BS the guy is like ‘would you like to make an appointment to review this later?’ Totally lame. A few months ago you had to tell them if you wanted to keep your overdraft protection. Who doesn’t want overdraft protection?! Really, the only reason I keep banking here is because it’s convenient. When I go on vacation it’s not hard for me to find a Chase. However, I’m starting to care less and less about this.

Look. When I walk into a bank, check in hand and start filling out a deposit slip — there is only one thing on my mind. Depositing my friggin’ check. I would like nothing more than to simply make my way to the open bank teller, hand them a couple slips of paper and be on my way.
For some reason, Little Miss Assistant Manager felt it was necessary to escort away to her stupid little desk and «help» me with my deposit. And by «help» I mean smother me with information about some hip new debit card they have.
Did she take the hint when I kept saying I was not interested? No. What about when I sighed heavily which any sane human could read my body language and notice that I wanted to get the eff out of there? No. How about continuing to drill me with marketing crap after I said no again? OF COURSE SHE DID!
Summary: Me = in a hurry. Bank lady = oblivious. Nerves = shot.
