Very cool toys and gifts for children. I loved the products. Expensive– you’re definitely paying the price to buy quality items.
Horrible employee though. Not helpful, bored, condescending, and rude. Don’t even bother asking for help.

I went into Clover Toys last year to get an owl-​themed toy for my baby niece. Since I was on my lunch hour, and had limited time, I asked the sales associates for assistance. Two of them went around the store pointing out owl items to me, and I selected a set of 4 wooden stacking owls that I believe were made in Germany. While the pricepoint was on the higher end, it was absolutely worth paying for because of both the service received, and the quality of the product.
They always have the most darling display windows and selection of products, and it’s so nice to have a toy store so convenient to where I work.

I love Clover for unique special toys and gifts. The selection is always amazing. I really like that they seem to make the extra effort to have boys, girls, and unisex options in each section. The staff always seems to LOVE their job with authentic enthusiasm. Yes, they are a bit expensive but the quality, uniqueness, and selection make it a destination for buying special treats.

I had been frequenting this store for awhile now and I was very excited to get my son a toy. I will never be going back to this place due to how rude the sales lady was. Not sure why she has the need to be rude, I feel sorry for her. She’s the older lady with curly hair and glasses.
You know those people who are super awkward that just stare and don’t have social skills and gives you a creepy feeling? This is how I felt about her. I asked her a simple question and she repeated my question back to me in a condescending tone and so I told her nevermind I’ll browse on my own. She then came up to me and told me I couldn’t be rude to her??? Excuse me, but not sure where this feeling of entitlement came from all of a sudden when she was the one being rude to me in the first place.
Anyhow, she obviously does not understand how to treat customers, so this store will be on my blacklist and will tell all other moms about how there are plenty of other stores worth spending money in.

I have been going to Clover since we moved to Seattle one year ago to buy toys for my now 1 year old son. I have spent a good amount of money there by now. I love the selection and I always prefer to support small businesses, so I have always chosen this store over others, even if the staff has never gone out of their way to be friendly to me.
Now, here is what brings me here to write this review.
I like my son to come with me to pick out his toys so I am sure to get something he likes. He had already picked out his toy today and we were looking for a gift for a friend’s daughter. As we were looking, my son climbed up on an already smooshed box that was on the floor. Before I could pick him up, a saleswoman came over and said sternly to me, «Do you plan on purchasing this? No one is going to buy this now.» She had no issue immediately blaming me. I apologized and informed her it was already smooshed, but I was sorry he climbed on it anyways. She was so unkind and just walked off muttering something with the box. I felt like crying! I then put back the toy I was going to buy for my son and left. I truly feel they have no affinity for children here. The least kid friendly toy store I have ever visited.
I wanted so much to like this store, but I will never go back. There is no reason to talk to customers that way. Especially ones that are return customers and would’ve spent a good deal of money at the store today and in the coming years.

Charming children’s store located on that one street in Ballard I always forget about. Forget no more, as the selection of kid gifts, toys, books, crafts, cards and clothing all suit the boutique-​but-​not-​pretentious personality of this place and make me want to return. The clothing is on the pricey side, but they offer free gift wrapping.

I got so fed up trying to find something decent amid the plastic junk at Fred Meyer, thank goodness I thought of going here instead!
We totally WON Christmas with an awesome wooden airplane puzzle/​toy (by french toymaker Janod) that my two-​year old nephew adored.
Of course, there are plenty of extremely fancy toys, but it’s not hard to find something under $ 20. There’s also a Chinook Book coupon for $ 5 off.
I’ll definitely be coming back here for future kid gifts.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Stopped in on Christmas Eve to search for a special gift for a 7 year old girl with my brother in law, wife, and her parents. The woman working asked if she could help us and we told her that we were specifically looking for a frog hat. Specific, I know, but it has a special meaning for my brother in law and the little girl since she was born. The woman proceeded to say, «if you are wasted, I was closing up here». Obviously we immediately left, saddened by the type of people who run toy stores on Christmas Eve.

This is a wonderful toy store. I’m so tired of the standard toys in Target and most toy stores. If you want to select something special for someone special, this is the place to go. I live in Green Lake, and there are plenty of toy stores closer than Clover, but when I want something unique and quality, this is where I come. And, I have found the staff very friendly and very helpful.

This store has yet to disappoint me. Yes, their stock is higher end and priced more than the run– of-​the-​mill chain toy store, but the quality is higher too. I really appreciate the selection of award winning games and crafts, there’s a bit of everything here. I disagree with reviews of the staff. While they don’t hover, they’ve always been eager to help.
I was especially grateful they were open today, during a power outage!

Olga O’s review made me want to shop here… so that I can avoid people just like her. Yes, some items are pricy, but y’all that are accustomed to shopping at Walmart, can’t tell the difference in quality anyway. It was a breath of fresh air not to be hassled by a pushy sales person with a fake «you doing okay» question every five minutes. My son suddenly needed to use the restroom, of course, and I was politely shown the way. As I was leaving, some great tunes came on and I almost asked the guy behind the counter who it was. But I chose not to. Who knows why.
A great selection for those who have a keen eye, and are willing to pay the extra 5% for quality. They have Tintin and Asterix comics too.

Shopping for fancy, overpriced, high quality toys? This is the place for you. I echo many sentiments here — this is not a cheap toy store. Now that we got that out of the way, we can move on to the fun stuff.
I’ve always been impressed by the selection at this store. While I may care more about the quality, the kids in my life really don’t. They care about «playability.» Yeah, just made that up. Clover is a great place to meet my need to feel like I’ve made a quality commitment to buying a toy, while also providing kids with toys they can really play with. Now, the toys I played with as a kid are not necessarily what’s on the market today. With my child, I had a lot of learning to do about toy safety, yada, yada, yada. You’d be hard pressed to find lead based, death trap toys here. If you want that, try the dollar store.
I just stopped in last week to pick up some toys for an infant and I had a great time! From the sustainable rubber duckie, to imported wooden blocks, to funky toys that I don’t have a name for but don’t need to since they will go straight into the infant’s mouth — I found it all!
We’ve already talked about the lack of cheapness at this store. TIP: You can sometimes find deals like spend $ 20 and get $ 10 off from those online coupon sources (you know who they are). Any little bit helps and 50% off works for me! Wheee!!!
As a parent, I wholeheartedly agree that the space is not really kid friendly unless you’ve got the kid strapped to your body and even then, it’s debatable. The aisles are small and even I felt like I was going to knock things over at a moments notice.
The staff is relatively friendly and I haven’t had occasion to ask them for anything so I can’t speak to the knowledge base.
I took my 8-​year old kiddo in there and wow! Kids. Always looking for that «playability» factor. Yep. Used it again. I didn’t think my child would be amused by the store but I was wrong. Fun times.

Just got engaged, went to go look for things to start our toy chest.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful toys. Had to drag fiancé out of store, lest she iimmaculately conceive right then and there. Friendly staff fielded a tough question from another customer (7 year old obsessed with sports, recommend something), walking them through their store to show off their toys, but freely recommending another toy store that likely had more sports-​themed toys. But seriously. You buy this stuff for your kid, I will personally guarantee you raise an aesthete.
But they’re not too cool to carry Legos.

This store has a great selection of beautiful toys and other children’s items. I recently received a gift certificate to purchase something for my daughter there and I can’t wait to go and pick something out. While the prices are not super cheap the products are high quality and totally worth the price.

Interesting selection of toys but I have to agree with the other reviews that mentioned a chilly staff. We went in there to purchase a gift for our baby’s first Christmas and after paying for it, the gift wrapper accidentally wrapped it with another customer’s gift. He ran out to look for it but came back in and we barely got an apology from either him or the other shop worker. Then we stood back in line again until we asked if we could just get a refund since there was no other match to the one we wanted and she seemed like she didn’t care.
I think we’ll be taking our toy shopping to Amazon from now on.

As I walked out of Clover during my last visit to do some Christmas shopping, I overheard someone on the street decrying Clover as «expensive and douchey.» Expensive, perhaps. But douchey? I’ve admittedly applied that adjective indiscriminately in the past, but it would never occur to me to use it to describe a toy store.
They focus on quality toys and games, many of which are imported from somewhere other than China. You’re not going to find Thomas, Barbie, Cars, Toy Story, Angry Birds, or the other usual toy suspects here. What you will find are toys that spur imagination and creativity. Think puzzles and games, dress-​up, and playsets that require some assembly other than snapping plastic bits together.
The new space is much roomier than their original location, and staff are as helpful and accommodating as ever. If you’re looking for children’s toys, books, or clothes that are a little out of the ordinary and built to last, Clover has a great selection, and there’s nothing remotely douchey about it.

If I had a shiny red Radio Flyer wagon full of money to spend (oh, and some progeny on which to spend it), I would LOVE shopping at Clover Toys. They have well-​made toys, dolls, stuffed animals, clothing, and games, all designed to allow your child to express him/​herself and exercise some of that budding creativity.
Some of the funnest items I saw included: wooden vegetables held together by velcro, meant to be cut with wooden «knife» (a throwback to the set I had as a kid); amazing dress up hats including a plush top hat, a wizard’s hat, and a viking hat; adorable kid-​sized throw pillows resembling the faces of the world’s friendliest monsters; and a Tommy Bahama-​like outfit (complete with straw hat) for a little boy. I also saw a really cool plastic brontosaurus toy but that was, like $ 35, so you can already imagine how expensive everything else was!

My go-​to store whenever I need to find that perfect gift for my daughter, or one of her friends, or the new baby of a friend/​co-​worker, etc.
They have wonderful toys (no cheap plastic Chinese made junk here). Beautiful puzzles and games. Lovely European clothing for boys and girls (Catamini, Tea, Room Seven). Playmobile. Trains. Books. Stuffed animals that are to die for (Steiff being my personal favorites). Wooden blocks. Kitchen sets. Dolls. And so on, and so on.
Better still? The staff really know their product. I usually just walk straight to the counter when I arrive and say something like, «I need a birthday gift for a 3 year old girl» or «a 6 year old boy» and they lead me right to their personal favorites in the store that are age/​sex appropriate, and BUDGET appropriate too.
I only wish I didn’t have to drive to Ballard from WS for my shopping visits, or I’d likely go in weekly (or more) to peruse their shop for the latest/​greatest for my 4 year old daughter. Then again, that would be very bad for my pocketbook!

Clover makes me wish that there was a child in my life to buy for. Not necessarily one of my own, but maybe one belonging to a friend or relative.
They have everything here! Board games, unique wooden toys, musical instruments, science kits, clothing, etc, etc, etc! The amount and quality of the items is astounding.
The store isn’t particularly large, but there are all sorts of great items tucked into every available space. I think I could visit Clover one hundred times and still find something new and interesting on each visit.
I could have spent hours in this store, oohing and ahhing over all the fantastic toys. I had to drag myself away before I started purchasing things because I have no one to give them to other than myself!

I am in the midst of a baby boom.
Seems like everyone I know is having babies these days… but the best part? Buying fun little things for the munchkins! This store is one of those stores I could easily spend a couple grand… easily. Wonderful wood toys from Europe, colorful games, and adorable soft outfits from France.
Luckily I am pretty broke right now, otherwise I would be in trouble. I think I have replaced the need for buying shoes for myself into buying adorable little things for babies. What the hell is going on?
