An awesome comic shop. Great selection, great service, conveniently located and a friendly, comfortable space!

This is my favorite comic book store in Seattle. The staff has never recommended something I didn’t love, they carry all of the books I read, and there is a good variety for the whole family. I’ve never left empty-​handed, I’ve never wanted to return anything, I’ve never left without a smile on my face.
Also, I know some people can be hostile towards female gamers and comic book readers, and that is NOT REMOTELY the case here! The staff is friendly and loves comic books, and loves to share their passion with everyone.

Being a lady that likes comics can become a pain in the ass when you go to a comic book store. But not here! Not only was I genuinely welcomed, but they enthusiastically helped me track down items from my list of 8 books I was searching for. To top it off I mentioned some comics I enjoyed & one of them shared a couple of books I’d probably like, and he was right on! I didn’t have the extra cash that day, but will totally go back when I do. These guys deserve to thrive. Give them your business!

This was my first ever comic book store and I had a really great experience. They definitely didn’t make me feel bad for not knowing about comics and one of the guys there had some serious advice to give about trying out new comics. He was clearly very knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about helping me out.
They have a really great back issue section and I was able to get all the copies to catch up on for the series I was looking for.
I will definitely come back again as I learn more and more about which comics I would like to purchase.
I haven’t quite figured out how to set it up so that they’ll just have the comics ready for the series that I follow but that’ll be my question for when I go in next. There’s a few ongoing series already that I really love.

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet of Comics Dungeon!
First off, when you ask any question, no matter how obscure, about a plot point in comic, they will give tons of background. Second, they do it without sounding like «Comic Book Guy,» they do it sounding like people who are really enthusiastic and into comics. Third, they don’t mind if those questions are very basic — like «what’s the difference between Superior Spiderman and Ultimate Spiderman?» (I may not have asked anything quite that basic, but I’ve been very close!)
Third if you «subscribe» to comics here, not only do they pull your comics so you never miss anything, and not only is it easy to add comics to your subscription, but you get a big discount on *all* your purchases if you’re a subscriber, like 15%+.
I’ve also shown up when they were closed but still in the shop and they’ve let me in, and also anytime I come in if one of the regular people is working, they remember me *and* my «box number» and just get my comics.
It’s like one of the best retail experiences I’ve ever had, and the shop is well stocked with Marvel and indies (probably DC too but I wouldn’t know since I only read good comics) (BAM!) for kids and adults, and the staff makes great recommendations for new comics too.
Comics Dungeon is the best. Also, they do a lot of promotions and things so you never know when there will be people dressed as Storm Troopers hanging around with is fun.

Unbelievable holiday sale; thank you for letting me clean out your hellblazer and x-​factor back issues :). Your store is awesome with a healthy collection of back issues fairly priced (even without a sale) and the folks working are very knowledgeable and friendly and obviously enjoy what they do. I would frequent the store if I still lived in the area, but will have to settle for a visit next time i am in Seattle :)

There’s no parking lot so you have to find street parking and traffic on this main road is awful every single day.
It’s clean, it doesn’t smell. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the comics and always recommend the best grotesque horror comics.
My husband frequents this place on a weekly basis and it keeps him busy and distracted which is 5 stars in my book. It does get pricey since he always buys more than one.

This is by far my new favorite comic book shop. I stopped in looking for a hard to find edition of Hellraiser and Shaun talked me in to a couple of different graphic novels. He was extremely knowledgable regarding almost every title they sell. He was able to let me explain what I like and then almost instantly name several titles that I was interested in. Because of his knowledge of the stories and his great customer service, I would highly recommend this shop to everyone.

Reliable but nothing special, Comic Dungeon offers a dependable experience, especially when it comes to new arrivals, but don’t expect much more. There are a few back issues and a decent selection of graphic novels. However, there are few games and gaming supplies and no apparel whatsoever. Alternatives nearby may be a better choice.

Can’t stress that this store is excellent.
Clean and organised I spent a small amount of time trying to figure out the layout.
As most others have already talked about, back issue selections are amazing and would recommend to anyone needing to find that one or issue or one run by a certain artist, writer, or creative team.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, even was willing to put a creator-​owned from guest at the front to showcase and sell.
All in all, if you get a chance treat yourself to making a stop here.

I like their new location and especially their current layout after the flooding fiasco.
Today came in with the kiddo who had a gift certificate from the holidays and the place was full of customers. Counter staff greeted you as you entered and were friendly and helpful. Only once from a previous visit, there was one individual who was rather standoffish and dour — thankfully that was an isolated incident. BTW — they are also very helpful via email contact via their retail website.
I’ve visited several comic book shops for over two decades, but Comics Dungeon stands out for their selection, atmosphere, and friendly & knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended!

Made this my local shop after moving to the area about a year and a half ago. Super friendly staff, always have most everything in looking for in stock, and there’ve always got some cool vintage books behind the counter to check. It’s cool to look even if you can’t buy it :)

WOW Great customer service. Thoughtful and knowledgeable.

Love the layout of the new space. The staff is very knowledgeable and knows their stock well. Plus, every person we’ve asked has made pretty awesome recommendations. I found some cute basic reader comics (levels 1+) there for my nieces and nephews. Their selection of independent comics usually has some good stuff in it, they have all the new releases, plus back issues of a lot of different comics. We make the trek over from the east side often for this store and their occasional Groupons are always a good deal.

Another great shop I had a chance to visit while on vacation in Seattle. I took a bus to get there and glad that I did. Had a great time talking to the employee who was working that night, and he even let me stay a little after they closed to finish looking. Found a couple great back issues and some newer things I had been looking for. Everything was reasonably priced and they had a number of boxes filled with sets of minis series or story arcs from ongoing titles, a great way to get a full story for a discounted price. If I am ever in Seattle again I will certain be stopping by Comics Dungeon again.

I have been going to the Comics Dungeon since it was by the old Green Lantern Tavern. Now they have moved a second time and I do enjoy the location. Don’t let the name, or the bars on the window fool you. It’s a very family friendly comic store. When you come in, there are family friendly books up near the front… Not tucked away or hidden in a back corner. The space seems much brighter, and open than the last location. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable… And approachable, so don’t worry if you’re new to the genre, or looking to buy something for someone else. Also their box subscription is the best in town. They offer the best discounts (some comic shops don’t offer discounts for box customers), they use a computer system, and the employees will give you head’s ups about things relating to what you’re having pulled… Such as letting you know when a title turns into something else, you’ll be signed up for it. They also have one of the biggest (if not the biggest) back issue selections in town too. And we’re not talking stuff that is pulled off the shelf the next month, or what is popular… We’re talking good old fashioned everything including the Kitchen Sink.
It may not be the oldest comic shop in Seattle. it may not be the biggest comic shop in Seattle. And it may not have won King 5’s Viewer Choice award. But it’s definitely the best comic shop in Seattle.
PS… They have gift certificates too.

This is a great little comic book store. They’ve got a nice selection of back issues and have a great selection of trade paperbacks and graphic novels, including having some selections sorted by author. I love that.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They always have good service here. Even though I don’t live in Wallingford, I make it a point to drive out here when I can to buy comics here.

The absolute best comic shop around!
I have been collecting comics for a long while been to dozens of different shops in different states. (I’m old) This shop has the best customer service hands down.
Chris has helped me rekindle my love for comic books. I have been to other shops and was always been disenchanted by their selection and knowledge of the books that the other shops have. You will not have that problem here, talk to Chris about the books you will soon find out that he works here because he loves the craft that is involved with comic books and not because he just needs the job.
This shop has great selection and great gift ideas not just books. This is a must stop for me especially during Christmas time. They always have something cool and unique here that catches my eye.
Last note: Look for groupons and other social coupons they like to run special like that.

Why did I not know that comic book stores still existed? Gosh, I came here for my friend’s birthday to find him a gift! I was so excited because yes, I used to read my brother’ comics! I went to another comic book store, but decided I check out a second one to see. To my surprise, yay, I stumbled upon this one.
Great location, on the corner, on 45^th. Love that there is parking, and inside the store it is big enough. There are boxes upon boxes of great comics. Anywhere from the latest ones, to really really old ones. They have such a large variety of comic books, seriously, it’s endless.
I like how it’s pretty cheap for a bulk series, depending on what the series is, how many, and how old. Otherwise, it is expensive in my opinion. It doesn’t have many toys as I had expected, but it does have comics, some gifts, and new and old comic stuff. Pretty tight! :)

My son’s Big Brother had exposed him to the myriad wonders of Comics Dungeon, but our first trip as a fambly was a couple of weeks ago. I’d picked up a super-​sweet Groupon-​type deal while we were on vacation in Philly; I wanted to load them up on graphic novels to reward them for astonishingly good behavior under adverse circumstances (a family reunion on the east coast which involved lots of «short cuts» [quotes suggest irony], minivans, humidity, caravans into large metropolitan areas, monuments, walking, whining, and general interpersonal chaos).
Conveniently located just across from taco shack Rancho Bravo (go there, too!), Comics Dungeon is peopled by extremely knowledgeable folks who are absolutely helpful *if you ask for help.* Having skimmed some of the reviews and read the occasional «not too friendly» assessment, I’d say it very differently; I’d say that this is a type of bookstore, and it’s staffed by avid readers. In my experience, voracious readers aren’t *always* the most extroverted people. I guess I’ve just learned to expect (and actually appreciate) that this type of employee will often assume you are self-​directed and independent and in pursuit of your own private Idaho until you’ve indicated otherwise. Once you do solicit help, as we did, I found no shortage of interesting opinions and suggestions.
For instance, the guy working there suggested Rex Mundi, which has sort of a DaVinci code mystery at its center (but pre-​dates that crap, and is better written by 300% at least). I also really dig the artwork, and am just as enthused as my boys (perhaps more, in fact). I also told the guy a bit about my boys and their tastes, and he pointed us in the direction of Frank Miller’s re-​envisioning of the Batman series. Another total win – they both loved the installments we got. He also predicted unerringly that Maximo might become attached to the artwork and experience a moment of sadness/​frustration when the artwork changes abruptly from one volume to the next. And yes, there was a fit about that. Even some artistic indignation… and so it begins.
The Miller Batman books also exposed a gaping hole in my son’s public school education. Apparently he has never learned to decipher cursive properly, and the occasions of cursive in the thought-​boxes prompted a few apoplectic moments on the walk home wherein Maximo (my heart swelling with pride!) honed his walking-​and-​reading skills.
This place delivered exactly what we were looking for, and hooked us up with some inspiring books. We’ll definitely be back soon.
