Since the beginning, Petosa Accordions has strived for a quality of excellence the accordion world has never seen. Carlo Petosa started manufacturing accordions in 1922 — Seattle, WA. His tradition of the artisan craftsmanship has lasted four generations, producing what has been referred to by many as «the stradavarious of the accordion». Petosa Accordions has continued to stand alone in the making of what we are proud to portray as the «the art of perfection» in the accordion industry.

When Joe Petosa, Sr. joined the family business, after serving in the Navy during WWII, Petosa started a partnership with an Italian factory in 1945. Combining the «pursuit of perfection» with old-​world Italian craftsmanship, Petosa continues the endeavor, producing unparalleled standards of quality for over 90 years and four generations.

Business Owner

Joe M. Petosa began learning to play the accordion at age 8 from Seattle’s Maestro Anthony Facciuto. By age 12 playing his first professional paid gig. Joe began working weekends at the shop in 1972. From 1974 thru 1979 everyday after school to continue to learn and hone the skills necessary to become an accordion artisan. In 1980, Joe M. started his profession full time. By 1992 Joe II took over the reigns of the business from his father as he did with his father in 1952. This tradition continues with Joe, III who graduated from Univ of WA 2013.
