Mud Bay

The people who work here are so, so nice! They’re helpful if you’re looking for something and just plain great. Large selection of product for cats (which is what I was looking for) and a really nice rack of information about common ailments that could be affecting your cat.

Lower Queen Anne location is fairly new, it’s in an old Blockbuster store.
Huge layout. Bigger than the other one we had gone to near Capitol Hill. I think they have a bigger selection of items or it could just seem that way because it looks bigger inside. Left side for doggie lovers and the right side for those crazy cat lovers in your life.
Treat bar in the center.
Lots of food to select from. The staff is super nice, they were building a box for the snake toys and made a plane for «Snakes on a Plane.» I thought it was pretty funny and clever.
They carry local vendors and I think that’s all of them but it’s pretty great. Supporting locals! :)

Cannot say enough positive things about this store and this location. Amanda and all of the other employees were passionate about pets, helpful, and extremely knowledgable. They were kind and answered all questions thoroughly, and offered many great tips (and brochures) about local pet services. They also gave us many treat samples and coupons, and a hand written thank you note for stopping in! It’s kind of incredible that this seems to be the norm and standard for service at this store — reading the other reviews, I really am just echoing everyone’s awesome experience here.
When I mentioned I didn’t drive there but rather just lived up the hill, Amanda even offered to help me carry the gate I just bought back! The employees seem to go above and beyond regularly, and treated my puppy like a rock star. He and I both have a new fave spot to visit in LQA!

This Mud Bay is our go-​to pet store for anything my pup needs. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Recently, I had an experience that was really above and beyond — I was looking for a rain coat for my dog, and having trouble finding one in stock in his size (we recently had a lot of rain!). The staff at Mud Bay not only called around to several of their other locations to locate the item, but also arranged for it to be transferred to the uptown store to make it easy for me to pick it up. Mud Bay is great and I’m thrilled to have one in the neighborhood!

Friendly awesome helpful staff. Handed us a gift bag as we left. They sell quality food, treats and toys. I wish the prices were a bit cheaper. My dogs indestructible toys are $ 30 bucks. Guess you get what you pay for. Shop local!

I have never had such consistently positive interactions with staff at a pet store as this particular Mud Bay. Over several visits I have met numerous staff and they were all so helpful and kind and knowledgeable. It seems kinda crazy that I just moved to Beacon Hill and I still want to go back to this store in Queen Anne for my kitty supplies, but I do! Oh, and the selection is great and the free sample cans of food are a nice perk too. Definitely the best.

Our dog’s second home, he wishes! The staff are wonderful, helpful, animal lovers and the store has a great selection with reasonable prices. Pelo is made to feel like a little king with all the samples lavished on him! I also like to check out the adoption events they have in store every few weeks. I am so glad this pet store is in my neighborhood!

I’ve recently moved back to lower Q.A. and I was about to get a new dog, basically a rescue situation. I walked into this store starting from scratch in a hurry and was surprised to find the prices to be comparable to the big pet stores I was used to further out for almost everything. I’d say I could get the toys for less elsewhere, but the ones I got here are sweet!
I am very grateful to Alli for showing me around the store expediently. I got *everything* I needed and even got some samples tucked in. This place is very comfortable and well laid out. Having a helpful and knowledgeable employee like Alli was icing on the cake :)
I’d like to add that they have an option I hadn’t found at the big pet stores at all ~ Calming treats that can help cats & dogs. Not for all the time, but they will be very good to know about on July 4^th or New Year’s Eve, or if we (God forbid) move again.

This is my favorite Mud Bay location so far. From the minute I walked in the door the staff came up and greeted my dog and I with treats and a smile. I have been back several times since to purchase a rain coat for my dog (they have all new rain coats as of fall 2014), treats, and food.
They are competitively priced along with other pet stores in the area including the big name chains so don’t be afraid that this is some over priced boutique. I would highly recommend comparing the prices here against your favorite chain as I have surprisingly found that many of the products I like to purchase were the same price or less expensive from Mud Bay. This is assuming you are comparing the prices on the same brand /​product because Mud Bay does sell some higher quality and organic products that are not always the lowest priced items but they may be better for your pet.
The only thing I would note is that if you are paying with a credit card here that has a pin/​chip in it their credit card reader has a chip reader. So, when you use your chipped card they will put the card in the machine and leave it there until the transaction is completed so don’t forget your card! I only mention this because I have not seen many stores that have the chip reader yet.

I adopted a cat last weekend from the Seattle Humane Society and received 2 coupons from Mud Bay — one for $ 20 worth of cat food and one for $ 10 worth of litter. I live just 2 blocks away from this location so I stopped in to see if there was a minimum purchase to redeem the coupons. Amazingly, there is no minimum purchase required, it is literally just $ 30 worth of free products! Even better, when you use the coupon Mud Bay donates $ 5 to the shelter! An associate started helping me find a food to try with my new senior kitty and told me to save the coupon; she encouraged me to utilize their awesome 3 free sample policy and try some different foods to see what my new girl liked. She hand picked 3 wet food cans and 3 dry food samples based on what I could tell her about my new cat. I went back today, we talked about what my cat liked and didn’t like, and picked out more samples so we can figure out what works best! I was thrilled with the level of service, and prices are reasonable. This store is a great addition to the neighborhood.

So glad this space is now leased and they kept the marquee on the exterior! Mud Bay has very competitive pricing on quality dog food. Me and my pup stop by for treats/​toys on our walks too.

This Mud Bay location is terrific! My dog and I love walking up there for treats and stocking up on all the essentials.
This week, their friendly staff even came to my building to help host a doggie social event on our roof top! Mike and Natalie (? I’m so sorry I forgot your name) came by with a table and filled a ton of goodie bags for all of our residents and our pups. They also had samples of their favourite products and had lots of information to share with us all.
I definitely recommend heading up to this location with your furry friend. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and their products are top notch!

The new uptown Mud Bay is fantastic! We stopped in and we were greeted by the friendly staff immediately. After perusing and not being able to find our dog food, an employee (guessing a manager?) came and saved the day. We started chatting and he explained that the store was brand new. He gave us some fun facts about the age of the building and that they’re building an a adoption center.
I made some snide remark about how I want to put my pain in the ass English bulldog up for adoption.
We had our hands full of goodies when another employee offered to take them to the register until we were finished. Amazing service and a convenient way to get me to spend more money.
At check out we got some awesome free samples AND a hand written note with a coupon inside.
We usually go to the Mud Bay in Belltown which is always fantastic too.
This business just knows what it’s doing. They seem to genuinely care about service and product.

Great to have a fully stocked, diverse pet store in Lower Queen Anne; we really needed one. The store has plenty of room for movement with your pet and possible future growth. It has everything that you would expect at a Mudd Bay pet store. The staff members are very friendly and willing to help in anyway they can.

This location is brand new. Previously, my partner and I have been walking down into Belltown to grab our cat gear, but lugging a 20lb bag of pine litter back to SLU is a bit of a hike. The new location in Lower Queen Anne is great, easy to get to, and HUGE. Seriously. I could’ve spent hours there. The folks at the front counter were super helpful and we even got a coupon for coming in. Very glad that this location is now open. It will probably be our regular place from here on out.

Our dog LOVES Mud Bay. Every single time we walk in, we are greeted with treats. I guess not really myself. My pup always gets greeted with treats. The prices for quality food for our pup is pretty reasonable. We try to stay away from stores like Petco and or Petsmart. I feel like Mud bay always goes down to a family level. They provide great recommendations and it is hard to avoid coming here. We will be die hard regulars of the Mud Bay chain in the PNW.
