History

Established in 2014.

Sideout Seattle started on the green grass of Greenlake in Seattle, Wa. What was a loose group of friends gathering on the weekends, quickly grew into a high level volleyball league. Comprised of ex-​collegiate, semi-​pro, and advanced level players, there is not another co-​ed volleyball league in Seattle with such consistent, high level play.

Utility player extraordinaire, my volleyball pedigree began on the beaches of San Diego. Growing up surfing in Oceanside California, playing beach volleyball was a natural past time for me. Eventually setting and becoming captain of Oceanside’s High School team, my skills were honed with the help of all the Pacific Islanders that went to my school. I eventually played at Palomar Community College, but stopped playing for 15 years while I started a career.

I found myself back into the life when a client of mine asked me to join his volleyball team about 4 years ago. I fell back in love with the sport which was awesome. I found there was no really good leagues out here. I tried Underdog and AE, but found the competition mediocre at best. So with the help of a few tournament organizers, we started SideOut Seattle. A group of players who were dedicated to delivering only the highest level play possible. And we’ve maintained that criteria since.
