After multiple visits, I have now started to place phone orders for my sandwich. It usually takes 15 – 20 minutes for a sandwich, so I’ll call 15 – 20 minutes before I’m ready to head out for lunch. My favorite is the cranberry(whole cranberries), turkey, and cream-cheese on wheat. This place also carries Tim’s Cascade chips. Average lunch here is $ 7. Added bonus for delivery, but a lunch walk is always nice! Oh yea, I have used my debit card here multiple times. So, its not just cash and checks anymore. Update: DAMNYOUJIMMYJOHN’S!!!

Slices is under new management, and they have a brighter, more open and clean space now. They’ve also expanded their menu(goat milk lattes! ice cream!). Their prices are still wonderfully low, especially for the quality of ingredients in their sandwiches. I get my lunch here almost every day, and have NEVER had an issue with wrong order, untasty, or bad service. This place is definitely a great lunch or breakfast stop.

Good ‘hood eats. Such awesome staff. Good people. Solid, real, good people. Hyperhonest. The food’s great for lunch, breakfast, snacks… they work their heads off and the quality shows it. Even if it’s out of your way, they’re worth a stop in.

Slices may not look like much, or look that clean, but it’s got it where it counts kid. Their prices are fair, their sandwich, snack and drink selections are varied, and they are nice folks to boot. Their ruben is good as is every other sandwich I’ve had.

You know the saying, «It’s not what’s on the outside that counts, but what’s on the inside.» Thank goodness that’s true because this place is definitely not the looker. If you walk past this place without the door ajar, you might think this place was closed — not just closed for the day, but closed forever. But what it lacks in outer pretty, it makes up in AWESOMENESS. They give you so many choices! They have over 10 choices of bread and 5 choices of cheese and 3 types of mustard! OMG! It’s so wonderful! I ordered the corned beef sandwich on dark rye bread with light mayo and stone ground mustard and provolone. I savored every single last bite of it especially since the vegetables are so crisp and fresh! The sandwiches are very affordable and the people are extremely nice. I definitely recommend this place if you need a lesson in inner beauty or for your luncheon needs.

Ok… um, how to say… eh, let’s see, you might want to prepare yourself for this place, if you’re going to go. 1) The people here are super nice. I mean, really nice and cool. 2) Their sandwiches are good. Lots of choices & loads of goodies. Macrina bread, if you ask. 3) Sandwiches are cheap. $ 5 – 6 cheap, not bad. That said: 1) The outside looks very sketchy — frosted windows, not exactly the cleanest, just kinda odd. We(at work) refered to this place as ‘Death Deli’ b/f we ventured in. 2) Bottled drink choices are, um, unique. They’ll have some Guayaki Yerba Mate right next to three Coronas. Yeah, just 3 of them, single bottles. Or maybe some Bud Clamato to quench your thirst? 3) Clientèle, should you choose one of Slices’ table to eat at, are highly diverse and entertaining. Anywhere from business-suited gentlemen to someone who looks like she’s coming off a crack binge. Try it, you might like it, the owners are nice. Just prepare yourself.

An average looking deli from the outside. Some of the sandwiches are really really good(BBQ beef especially). The people are really nice, and the food is really affordable. One of the few places around my work that I like to go to.

The people who work here are some of the nicest people I’ve come across since moving to Seattle. I work nearby, so I go in often. They know my name, my usual order, and are just pleasant in the morning. The muffins are sometimes great, sometimes really dry, and it’s a little dingy on the inside. Otherwise, I love it!

Hot Pastrami on Light Rye with Dijon mustard please Slices is definitely a secret little deli, located near Glazers and Ivey imaging in South Lake Union. It couples as a deli and a mini-mart. They Happily make great sandwiches to order and have a bunch of other random offerings like hot-dogs, soup, and pre-made salads. The walls are lined with many snack shelves and soda coolers, you can get anything from standard coke products to lesser known indie drink companies offerings, plus a wide assortment of snacks from chips and nuts to rice crispy treats. When I decide I can’t handle another lunch brought from home I usually head over and grab a bite to go. And now they finally have joined the world and accept plastic. Yay no more trips to the bank before I hit them up for that bag of Jalapeño potato chips. Big sigh of relief…

Nice people, no-nonsense sandwiches that are priced fairly(but I’m used to eating a New York sandwich that costs $ 15), and some zippy extras like avocado or bacon. Awesome cookie assortment. You can get out of there with a sandwich, a bag of chips(two even!), a cookie, and a 20 oz soda for under $ 10(the other bag of chips were not for me, I swear). Cash or checks only!

The only reason I’ve eaten here is because I work around the corner. The food is nothing special and most items are a tad overpriced. But if you work in the South Lake Union area, and you have no car the people there are friendly and you can get a salad, sandwich, bagel, soup, candy bar, or various other things to tide you over till quitin’ time.
