The Pump Connection

I cannot recommend this service highly enough.
We’re probably your typical couple feeling completely inadequate after getting home with our new baby and having trouble feeding. Oh sure, it worked great at the hospital when a nurse would come in and get us situated, but every time we tried on our own, the baby failed to latch, and it just got worse at home. We ended up pumping/​bottle feeding for the first two weeks while trying to solve the issue, then realized: we needed an expert.
A number of services in the area offer office consultations, but that was exactly what we didn’t want. After all, we had no trouble in the hospital surrounded by nurses; what we needed was someone to help us figure out a plan that worked in our own home — where to do it, how to situate the baby, on what pillows, etc, etc.
Rebecca was incredible. She totally reassured us that we weren’t the «bad parents» we’d chalked ourselves up to be, explained exactly what was going wrong, and helped us find a method that, several weeks later, has worked every single time. She called us completely out of the blue over the subsequent weeks to make sure all was still working, and has always been available over the phone to answer questions. That single in-​home consultation changed everything.

This is the second time I have come to The Pump Connection and I love it. The first time I came was in 2010 with my first son. The help was great! The second time was just last week with my third and Rebecca was great in helping me get into the groove of things once again. Everyday is getting better all thanks to all the great tips and instruction from Rebecca. :)

So glad I found this place. Being a FTM is hard, and it’s great to find such a great resource and support group. I feel way more sane after just one Mommy and Me class and a consultation with Rebecca, the owner/​lactation consultant. Danielle, who leads the mommy n me classes is incredibly knowledgeable and helped all of us navigate the highs and lows of new motherhood. I’ve also made lasting friendships with my fellow classmates. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. Love love love this safe, unassuming place. Rebecca carries everything you need for breastfeeding, etc. in her store too. A must for every Valley mom.

As a relatively recent transplant to the Valley I wasn’t sure where to go for maternal support in the Valley. I happened to walk by this place at their old location on Ventura and am happy that later on I walked in.
They carry some great and really reasonably priced breastfeeding supplies. I got a fantastic basic nursing bra for under $ 15, various parts for my pump, and my favorite milk storage bags (which are biodegradable and the same cost of the ones at Target which aren’t). The selection of baby things (especially if you’re looking for a baby gift) isn’t particularly robust, but they truly have what you need to nurse.
The new location is in my opinion, leaps and bounds better than the old. The space for classes is bigger, and parking (which you can find in the back) is much easier. It’s also close to the VNSO park and trader joes so it’s easy to swing by.
I also cannot recommend highly enough the mommy-​and-​me classes I took there with Danielle Brooks. As a second time mom in wasn’t sure if I needed a mommy-​and-​me class, but someone mentioned her class to me and I took a chance to go to it. Danielle truly taught me how to be a better mom, from gently crib training the baby to soothing the toddlers tantrums. It was one of the best decisions I made!
All in all, this place is a great resource for moms in the Valley!

I’ve gone to the breastfeeding support group and the mommy and me classes and am really pleased with the experience. They also carry breastfeeding supplies and other handy baby items so that’s super convenient too. I know they have prenatal workouts and other cool classes. Recommend!

I’ve used the Pump Connection several times. Each time better than the last. Rebecca, the owner, is friendly, super helpful and kind. since I was such a great costumer she really helped me out by giving me great deals. She offers classes, boutique breastfeeding gear and baby and mom fashion. They’ve moved from their Ventura Blvd store to Hazletine street in Sherman Oaks, which is great for me because it closer than ever. If you need to rent a breast pump or othe breastfeeding gear go to the Pump Connection and see Rebecca for the best service.

I’m a first time mom and I had so many questions and insecurities that overwhelmed my breastfeeding experience in the beginning. After finding The Pump Connection I was able to successfully EBF my LO and we’re still going! TPC is filled with caring, experienced help, and people who are passionate about what they do. Plus, as if that we’re not enough they have great tools and sweet things for your sweet one and your BFing journey.

What a great place! Heard about them a couple of months ago before my baby was born. I took a breastfeeding class and I was given their card at the class. Well my baby is now almost 3 months old and exclusively breastfed. A concern came up and I thought that my breastfeeding was over. I called Pump Connection and Debbie was so sweet and gave me tons of advice over the phone. Now me and baby are back breastfeeding and very happy. I feel so lucky to have this resource. The first time I contacted The Pump Connection I was a mess. My daughter was 3 days old and had lost 13% of her birth weight due to a poor latch and the fact that my milk had not come in yet. The first night home from the hospital she cried hysterically all night and I was an emotional wreck. I called The Pump Connection in the middle of the night and left a tearful message begging for help. The next morning, Melissa called me first thing to set up an appointment with Binky for later that day. After that first consultation, I was certain that breastfeeding was going to work out for us. For 5 weeks, Binky worked closely with my husband and I creating various plans that helped me become more confident as a nursing mother. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Binky and her staff. I know that if it weren’t for The Pump Connection, I would have given up, but we have been going strong for 8 months now. Thank you all for your support and patience! Binky, you are my hero!

The Pump Connection was an amazing resource for me after the birth of my daughter. Binky was amazing — it was because of her that I went from being in so much pain I couldn’t imagine the thought of breastfeeding, to having a very successful 13 months of it. Their offices are very comfortable and relaxing, and they are truly experts. Please check your insurance because some will accept lactation consults! This place was just wonderful, and they have a nice little shop with all sorts of supplies and nursing bras and nursery/​baby related items as well. Very very down to earth atmosphere.

More new moms should know about this place! I delivered my bundle of joy at the Providence Tarzana hospital and my lactation consultant came from the Pump Connection. Binky (yep, that’s her name) was great at showing me the ropes in terms of nursing. I also rented a hospital grade pump at the hospital’s Women’s Resource Center, but it’s actually a product of the Pump Connection. A week later I decided to check out the actually location and the gal there was very helpful and helping me find and fit nursing wear for me. In addition to selling and renting nursing pumps, bras, and other baby needs, they also offer consultations for new moms having difficultly with nursing. A great resource to keep on file!
