Great experience with Tyler Management. Very professional. I rented a two bedroom apartment/​condo in Long Beach. The condo was in great condition, all appliances in good condition, and never had any issues with correspondence.
All of our interactions were with Jesse and James specifically. Always seemed on the ball and attentive. Quick and thorough response and actions whenever there was a question, or need. If you’re considering Tyler Management as a manager for your unit, or will be renting from their company, know that you’re in good hands.

I rented a two-​bedroom condo at Villa Pacifica in Long Beach for a year and a half and I can’t recommend Tyler Management highly enough. James and Jesse were attentive to any needs and made the moving-​in and moving-​out process a breeze.
When our AC went out in September due to 100+ degree temperatures, they were even nice enough to reduce our rent while it was repaired (which only took a day or two). Even people in my building who were renters (including a real estate agent) spoke highly of Tyler Management and its reputation in LBC. I feel lucky to have Tyler Management as a manger and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

It is now December and nothing has changed, landscaping has gotten worse and laundry continues to be done until all hours of the evening as the doors remain open and the light on leaving us open to crime and vandalism again. Also causing a severe sleep deprivation as I share a wall with the uninsulated room and heater. I have also received complaints from other condo complexes behind us about our gate being kept open. I hope we can move forward and hire another company to manage our property effectively in the near future.

I needed some assistance renting out my house recently and had no idea of where to start. James Quiett was great about walking me through the process, letting me know what to expect, and made some great suggestions about things I hadn’t even considered. Jesse Olivas held an open house for about an hour and after one evening we had numerous applicants. Tyler Management as a team did a great job of screening the applicants and found tenants with solid references and great credit to rent my house, and at top dollar! James and Jesse also helped me prepare my house for the new renters with a minimum of hassle, which was greatly appreciated during a stressful move. I would highly recommend Tyler Management to anybody looking to rent out a property. In fact, I have already recommended them to a friend of mine who is in a similar position.

I am on a board for a condo here in long beach. This company is very good and knows the rules for the Hoa like the back of your hand. They have saved us money time in the day to day running of our building and projects we needed done. They run a tight ship. If you need a management company this is the best one ever!!!

Jesse is great! Always returns my calls, and anytime I need maintenance done he’s very quick and has it done with in the next day. I moved from out of state, and he was VERY helpful and accommodating. I don’t understand any of the negative reviews on Jesse, because he ALWAYS returns my calls immediately, and has been more than helpful. 10 stars for Jesse! Thank you Tyler Management

I believe Tyler management isn’t a scam. However, some people in this company are terrible when you are trying to rent a place. For example: JESSE OLIVAS is one of them. Here are the reasons:
1. He never calls back.
2. Very monotone.
3. When viewing the property, he is not accommodating when answering questions.
4. His answers are broad and when asking for details how to turn in applications, he leaves details out how to turn in a correct application.
5. He seems to have the person who’s interested in renting call him first.
6. He seems like a guy who doesn’t give a sh**t about you, or his job.

We’ve used Tyler Management for four years and are grateful for such prompt and polite service. We’re a family, and just small time property owners, and TM couldn’t have been more accommodating. They found tenants quickly, maintained the property well (yes, we drove by to check on the gardening and all that, and it always looked good), and answered calls immediately.
Do you understand real estate language? Right. Me neither. So when we had Lorri find us a new house and sold the old house, she patiently explained everything. She made it easy by just «popping on over» as she’d say (meaning that she hand delivered all of our documents). If you’re busy and need personalized service, Lorri and James are great.

I agree that the service is horrible. We rented a property in Long Beach and it was the worst experience ever. Do not let this company manage your property or the wife Lori handle the sale of your property. Your tenants will not receive return calls and your property will not be well maintained. Tenants, do not believe a word that comes out of their mouths.

If you are looking to rent a place that this organization manages, save your time and energy.
I was moving to Belmont Shores from Dallas TX and had limited time to find a place. I saw a for rent sign outside of a building and was able to call and speak to Jesse.
He was already in the area and was able to show me the place.
I really liked it (one of the best I had seen at that point) and got an app. I told him I had a couple more places to check out but would call him back the same day. He was friendly and seemed responsive.
I called him about 4 hours later and left a vm (this was a Saturday). By Monday, I hadn’t heard back from him. I then called him again and left another vm. Wednesday rolled around and still no call back.
I had approximately 3 weeks before I moved out here and was starting to panic. My MALE friend called him and Jesse responded right away. Jesse told him that he did receive my voicemails and emails but that because I was moving from out of town and wouldn’t be able to move in right away, they were not interested. Keep in mind that I told Jesse that I was ready to put down the hefty deposit as well as first and last month’s rent if necessary. Apparently, getting money was not as important as having someone physically in the apartment? WEIRD!
Needless to say, that was a complete waste of my time– all he had to do was tell me that when I explained my move-​in date to him when we met! Why drag it out?

Update
Sadly we have been without James and his team for two months. Our new Property manager/​landlord is terrbile. There have been many issues issues, most small, but more in two months than we had in two years with Tyler Mgmt. I expect things to happen, but it has taken an average of two weeks to even get a second response (after first notifying landlord) of when it could possibly be looked at. All of the hired help is unable to communicate in English, which is also problematic. That and the fact they have shown up at 7:30am on a Saturday and 8 am on a Sunday (different weeks) and unannounced, meaning landlord never told us anyone was coming.
So anyway, James we miss you guys. It was nice while it lasted!

Do not rent from these people! Or at least don’t believe everything they say. A few weeks ago I saw a place that they advertised on craigslist and I made an appointment to see it. The person was 30 minutes late and we had to call him several times to make sure he was still coming. Once I saw the place I asked him if I could submit an application. The ad said that they took pets and he said the same when we were in the unit. I supposed they did even before he told me because the person that lives downstairs had 2 dogs that were pretty loud but I didnt mind since the biggest reason of me leaving my old apartment is because I want to get a dog. I met with the leasing agent a couple days after to give him the application, he looked at it and said everything looked good but that he had to check my credit. The place wasn’t in excellent condition, the paint was really bad (an ugly gold color that covered part of the white trim) and the hardwood floors were pretty deteriorated. I saw potential in it because I like painting and interior design.
I met the agent later that week and he took the money order for the deposit. Then later that day the manager of tyler management called me to say that everything looked good but that he just wanted to make sure that I didnt have any pets.
WHAT?! no pets? The whole point of me moving was that I needed an apartment thak took pets and this guy calls me to tell me that he made a mistake on the craigslist ad and by telling the person that showed me the place that dogs were ok. He said that the person downstairs had been there for a long time and that she was the only one allowed to have a pet. So unfair!
As upset as i was, I told him that I had already given my notice at my place and that I didn’t really have anywhere else to go. I offered to have the place professionally repainted and to give a bigger deposit. He said he would talk to the owners and call me the next day. I don’t really think he talked to them, because he would’ve looked like a fool if he told them that he made a mistake by telling everyone that they took pets when they actually didn’t. So what did he do instead? Call my landlord and ask him if I could stay at my place. And he wasn’t nice when he called him, according to my landlord. So next day he calls me and tell me that he’s mailing my deposit and credit check fee back to me. I got it more that a week later and the credit check fee wasn’t included. UGH. So I had to call him and tell him that he forgot to include that. Luckily my landlord is pretty nice and let me stay.

I rent from them and it’s not a scam. I would recommend Tyler Management over the large property managements only because it’s more personal and you can always speak to someone.

They will scam ya.

Two days ago I found a house for rent by driving around. A sign out front indicated it was managed by Tyler Management, Inc. I called the number on the sign and was referred to a rental agent named Jesse. I called and he never called back.
I went by the next day and called again. He answered the phone and we met to view the rental that day at 3 p. m. I liked the place and it was exactly what we were looking for. He gave me the lease application and told me to get it back to him quickly with a deposit. I thought this was surprising but I’ve not rented for a while so I thought… ok?
I looked at his card and said I’d come by to drop off the application and a deposit in about an hour. He said that the address is a PO box and that they have no office. Since I’d heard about scams, I got worried about this situation. But I thought, oh well. maybe I’m paranoid. I met him back at the property to give him the application. He took it and also took $ 50 to check both mine and my husband’s credit! Another weird thing, I thought.
At that time he told me I needed to leave a deposit and it had to be $ 1000 and it had to be a money order or bank check. it was late and the banks were about to close so I said he should call me first thing in the morning to tell me if the credit had been approved and I’d come by with a check.
He never called. I called him at about 11 a.m. and he said the credit was approved and that I was first on the list and that all I had to do is bring by a check and we’d have the rental.
I asked, will I get the key then and he said NO… they he had to prepare a lease agreement. I told him to do that, call me and I’d come by and rent it.
I waited and waited. He didn’t call and didn’t call… seems to be his way of operating.
I had to go for an interview for a photography job and then I got a message that he had rented it to someone else who came by with the money.
I was really upset because I thought we had an agreement. The behavior was very very unprofessional. I’m am 65 years old, responsible and there was no reason for him to think I would not take the place… or at least call me and tell me he had another person interested.
Nothing like that happened. The whole scene makes me wonder if they are a real company or a scam or some kind like you read about on Craig’s List. Did I mention that this is listed on there too?
Be very careful when and if you use this company.
* as an addendum. I just got a long e-​mail from the «owner» making me very wrong and making it all my fault that I lost the rental. It is apparent that jesse thinks he is telling people things that he is not saying. He thinks he hears things he doesn’t hear. He simply needed to explain the situation. I’m not sure I would have believed someone who doesn’t have a land office… but maybe. I’ve just never done that kind of thing. it seemed weird and wrong to me to give him all the rental payment without getting a lease agreement and keys!
*addendum 2: The owner of Tyler Management wrote back and apologized and will be sending me my check back for the credit check. So he sort of made it better… but I missed out on a great house at a great price!
*addendum 3: I received the check today from them to refund my credit check. All is not forgiven, but I feel a bit better.
