History
Established in 2001.
For over 30 years I taught in and directed various middle and upper/high schools both in the NYC and MD areas. My EdD is from Columbia University — Teacher’s College. I realized my passion was helping students and families reach their potential. After earning an MSW from the University of Maryland, becoming credentialed as an LCSW-C (for insurance purposes), taking additional training and interning at a mental health clinic, I opened my now-successful therapy practice.

When a client walks into my office, I want them to feel listened to and understood. And to go home with one strategy even on the first visit. Because of my extensive experience in schools, I like working with kids and adolescents. All of us have anxious thoughts and too much cogitating on them does not help us. We have to learn to be aware of our triggers and reactions. We all have our inner critics especially kids. And sometimes there is unresolved trauma and anger from the past. In therapy we can gradually unlock some of this. Too much listening to our negativity can help us overlook our strengths. Being present and positive can help everyone.
I incorporate mindfulness in my practice and encourage all clients to practice anytime during the day they catch themselves «overthinking.»
