Location, location, location. It’s across the street from the parking garage, and I needed a snack before the movie across the other street. The shop has a small bit of expensive street frontage on Ellsworth and a wing of tables stretching along the entrance hall of the Ellsworth Center(formerly City Place, formerly Hecht’s). The décor is kind of ‘50s retro, colored drop lights and Formica tables and seats. You order and pay at the counter, then the food is brought to your table. There’s one of those 21st century 100-drink soda machines, and a limited selection of beer and wine. Rather than the you-pick-the-ingredients noodles, I went with the pork BBQ sandwich and Thai curry soup, $ 10 and change. At first I thought they had given me a wrap by mistake, but the sandwich was on a narrow mini-baguette and tightly swaddled in paper. The pork shoulder was tender and juicy. No smoke in the meat, but a bit in the sauce. The bread had a nice crispy crust, not artisanal [disclaimer — I have paid for bread with Francs] but better than most. The Thai soup was coconut milk based, lots of fresh vegetables, and came close to hitting the traditional balance of hot/salt/sweet/sour. Two things I did not like: there is no partition between the door and the main room, so I was hit with a chilly breeze each time a patron entered or left. And you need to get the combination to the door lock to use the men’s room(curiously no lock on the women’s). Definitely exceeded my expectations for a chain eatery, fresh and tasty but not inspired. I’m liking this modern trend in fast food.

I’m adding a star bc there are two updates. It seems Noodles has discontinued sriracha at all locations. Also the soy sauce brand has also been switched from Kikoman to this random brand. Hmm… Noodles better get it together my meals don’t taste the same anymore.

Twice I have been to this Noodles and Company and twice I have been disappointed by the quality of the food. The first time I went I was unpleasantly surprised by the small serving size and the sparseness of the meat and veggies in the dish, which means it was pretty much just noodles. It was so long ago that I don’t even remember the name of the dish I ordered. I just remember the disappointment and vowing not to waste my money there again. But today I used a free meal coupon I won to give them a second chance with me. I liked that the menu was easy to understand and the pictures looked very appetizing so I chose the Wisconsin macaroni and cheese with parmesan crusted chicken breast. The lunchtime service was good and quick BUT the meal was poorly put together. Unfortunately, the macaroni and cheese was really really dry and looked nothing like the picture on the menu. Instead«cooking» it appeared to only require microwaving shredded cheese with a splash of milk on top of a bed of macaroni noodles. Only the parmesan crusted chicken breast was done right. I’m really glad I kept my original vow not waste my money here. But even as a free meal it was disappointing. I’m giving it two and not one stars because the parmesan crusted chicken was tasty and the service, menu, and cleanliness were good. Problem is this a noodles restaurant so shouldn’t they be able to make a classic noodles dish, like macaroni and cheese?

i’m a sucker for edibles with noodles. so it’s hard for me not to like a place like this. i had my 1st beef stroganoff since i was a kid at one of these locations. it was a staple in my family growing up. i was a little excited when i saw it on the noodles & co menu. granted, it’s not as good as mom used to make, but it was good. the meat portion was a bit lacking, but i was content after i finished my plate. the meat was juicy and the noodles cooked well. i’ve gone back several times to different locations. it’s always good. i’ve also had their healthier entrees that have spinach and other leafy veggies in place of noodles. definitely worth the change. especially if you’re like me and in need of losing some pounds.

My cashier was having a GOOD day because she hooked a sista up! I was having trouble choosing between the curry noodle dish and the pad Thai so I asked her for her opinion. She said without a doubt the curry dish! I said«Bet! I’ll get a SMALL curry noodle with chicken and THREE potstickers». She takes my money, hands me the receipt and says«if you fill out the survey on the bottom you can get a free appetizer.» Guess what I did? I sat down in a booth and filled out the out the survey. I gave her the code and received THREE extra potstickers for free! Finally, my food arrives and she says«today must be your lucky day because I upgraded your order from a small to large bowl». I said«Wow! You didn’t have to do that but thank you so much. God bless.» The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because my food was bland, but Sriracha saved the day!

I usually enjoy Noodles & Company, but this place was pretty gross. First thing when you walk in the door, the smell of feet hits you. If you think walking toward the back of the restaurant would help, you’d be wrong; the smell gets stronger. If you decide to order food and eat at the restaurant, be prepared to not find a clean table in the ENTIRE place. I mean how hard is it to sweep and wipe a table off?! Food is eh. This is the second disgusting experience I have had in the Downtown Silver Spring area. It’s very disappointing and I would recommend going elsewhere if you can.

Decent and quick. I love the coupons. I always get something Asian like pad thai etc but this time I went European with the alfredo montamore. It was tasty. Service at this location is pretty standard. My Izzi pop was too expensive. $ 2.64! If they lower the drink prices and offer a free cookie along with the free birthday meal I shall be pleased. They’d get another star for that.

First off the cashiers are like college kids n they’re slow n confused. I got steak stroganoff and it was obviously just reheated ingredients n it took them forever to bring it. N they forgot ny soup! I got a thai curry soup n it was small n the noodles were sooo bland like just a texturized taste but the soup base was good. They had like uncooked tomatoes peices in it which would have been better if it was cooked I to the soup rather than just thrown in and they could have just salted the water for the noodles when the boiled it. As for the beef stroganoff the meat was tender but way too salty with the extra parmigiano on top and the noodles were dry and stuck to each other. They could have tossed it with butter or olive oil. the sauce was also bland and tasted very flour like and the mushrooms did not even exist on the dish. These r some of the simplest dishes to make at home. I’d say save ur time and money and just google a recipe ull b better off.

I have to wipe the drool as I type. I love this location. It. is fantabulous. I usually order Pad Thai every time since«If it aint broke, don’t fix it.’ The portions are generous. Hubby’s. Indonesian dish was also delicious. The tomato soup was piping hot. The portions are decent. If you need to tinkle, ask for the restroom door code. I love having my food delivered to the table. Call me «Oodles of happy».

I really love Noodles & Company and this is one of my favorite locations to go eat at. I’ve been to a lot of other locations around MD but wasn’t very satisfied.(I.e. some other places will still serve your order even though they burnt & dried up your noodles or mess up the orders quite a bit) Here the service is pretty on point & we’re usually satisfied with the food. :) The staff are helpful, friendly and do their jobs well and act professionally around customers. They also have fast service. The usuals that we go for are the REG. Size(pasta fresca/penne rosa) pastas or the Japanese pan noodles. Haha you should also tryout the square bowls! Those are great order to go’s for hanging out with friends or if you get really hungry like us. But the square bow sizes would serve about 4 I believe. The cost for square bowls are about 20 $ without meat, with meat about 26 $ before taxes; the regular size orders are a little under 6 $ and small a little under 5 $ without meat or any additional. Add-ons are about 3 $ more for like meatballs, shrimp, marinated steak, grilled chicken/Parmesan crusted chicken, etc. And I think you can do additional noodles for just a dollar more. {parking here would be on the streets or in garage}

Consistently Disappointing. Shame on me for continuing to go. Today was my third strike and I’m out, never to return to this Noodle & Company. Noodles and sauce should be easy, but it’s not here. Today I had Pesto Cavatappi. It was disappointing. For nearly $ 5 for a small size, I was hoping for a small portion of delicious comfort food, but instead got about 15 noodles, slightly moistened with sauce, about 2 slices of mushroom, a few dices of tomato, and the slightest serving of shredded parmesan. It was neither filling or fulfilling. I’ve also tried the Indonesian Peanut Sauté. It was bad. It was as if the dish had been prepared the day before. The noodles were clumped together and I think some of the veggies were going bad! I returned this one and got my money back.(I should be Unilocal reviewing myself and giving myself ½ star… Doh!). The first time I went over a year ago and tried the Pad Thai. Didn’t ever do that again. I wish I had better things to say, but I don’t. Stay away from this place.

I love this noodles and company. They have lots of parking in multiple garages surrounding and its right in downtown silver spring. I always love to get the Japanese Pan Noodle with shrimp. Its a personal favorite. The food comes out really fast and there is plenty of seating in the restaurant. I didn’t have any issues with their food and it is definitely a solid choice for noodles in the area.

OK… it’s a chain, and you pretty much get the same thing at all locations. But I can’t help it… I’m a fan. They have a good selection, nice mix & match menu, the food is good, the place is clean, the staff is friendly, and prices are(somewhat) reasonable. No, it’s not gourmet, but it’s good. I like that this place has outdoor seating, and that the street is blocked off from traffic during the day so you don’t have to deal with cars flying past or exhaust fumes while you’re eating.

This is a Vegetarian Review. The place was dirty and the food did not impress me at all, except that it was a bit more expensive than it should have been for what I got.

N&C is a solid value proposition. For a quick, reliable, and sensible meal, it’s actually pretty hard to beat. Its prices are quite reasonable and what you get is very satisfying. There are many good options(including vegetarian) so there’s some variety, but their execution is very consistent across restaurants and visits so you know exactly what you’re getting – which is why you would go to a chain in the first place. There are a lot of good flavors to be had. I like the peanut sauté, as well as the pasta dishes. The mac and cheese is a bit boring but boring mac and cheese is freaking awesome. Everything I’ve had here has been well balanced with thoughtful ingredient combinations and proportions. In fact, I can’t think of a more reliably delicious order-at-the-counter chain restaurant. I will say that some of the dishes are quite rich and may not be as healthy as you might want them to be. They post calorie counts so this should be easy to manage but keep that in mind. I have had no problems with this location. They dropped our order once and had to remake it, but were very professional and nice about it and they threw in some extras to make it up to us so that’s a net positive. It does kinda take a while to get your food, but that’s only compared to fast food places. And N&C is way better than fast food.

The food was cold, the tables were pretty dirty. My friend got some pad thai, Yeah it was their fault for getting pad thai at a non thai restaurant, it tasted blah — dont recommend getting that. I got some italian pasta thing I dont remember and it was blah too. Don’t really recommend this chain at all.

Yeah, yeah. It’s a chain, but chain food isn’t always awful. Noodles & Company isn’t gourmet, and I don’t come here for gourmet food. However, their truffle mac and cheese is pretty tasty. You get a lot of pasta for your money. Actually, mine was FREE… a birthday email from their website for any entrée! The dish was made with regular elbow macaroni topped with a cheese sauce, little pieces of black mushrooms, fresh Parmesan, and I assume truffle oil. It had a distinct truffle flavor, which was not overwhelming. It was more pasta than I needed, but enough for lunch the next day! Maybe they could have poured a tad more sauce over the noodles as the noodles on the edge of the bowl were naked. :) The counter gal was friendly, and they bring your food to you(ceramic bowls, not disposable) so you don’t have to stand around waiting.

I’ve been to Noodles & Co many times but always had noodle dishes. I didn’t find any dish special or different from other restaurants but all dishes come with familiar and mild flavor. Portions are pretty good for the price. I tried summer berry salad and it was pretty good. I asked to add corn instead of onion and croutons. It gave a hint of sweetness and crunchiness. Service was good and friendly. I will definitely come back to try their new items like Mac n’ cheese
