«24 hour bagels» (as I’ve heard most refer to this place) is a great example of what Long Island bagels are. If you’re introducing someone from out-​of-​town, it’s almost never a bad choice to bring them here late at night for a yummy snack. It’s a bit like a deli in that they have a couple of sandwich (and other) options, but you’re probably getting off going somewhere else if that’s what you want. Here, there’s a tremendous assortment of bagels, and they’re always making fresh ones. There are certainly more bagels here than what I can imagine. Unless you like heavily topped bagels, I’d probably recommend getting an egg bagel, which is just a bit more flavorful and savory than a normal bagel (I guess a more full-​bodied taste would be a good to describe it). Both butter and cream cheese are good options, and be ready for them to really lather it on.
The prices are excellent, with a bagel (believe me these bagels will fill you up) going somewhere between $ 1 – 2. There’s a really big variety when it comes to cream cheese flavors (fruits, salmon, etc.). Admittedly, I’ve never been too adventurous, but if that’s your thing, go for it. For me, it’s a bit hit or miss – I’ve gotten to become more risk averse from what I’ve tried, so I tend to stick with the standards.
By the way, they really mean ²⁴⁄₇. I’ve been here Christmas, and I have many friends who consider it tradition to come here right after the new year. It does get a bit sketchy later at night, as the only other place that’s open at those hours are the bars in the same strip, and it is a middle-​of-​the-​highway kind of location. On top of that, you’ll probably see some sketchy characters (or people from high school you probably wish you didn’t see). However, if you can dodge all that, it’s a pretty cordial experience, regardless of the hour you’re coming. The cater to all hours as well, not only making fresh bagels all day (as mentioned before), but they have morning specials and the like for different crowds.
I’ve heard recently that this place might get taken over by a Chick-​fil-​A. I do love Chick-​fIl-​A, but unless it was going to be open 24/​7, Chick-​fil-​A just wouldn’t be the same.

Being open ²⁴⁄₇ and feeding grateful, late night revelers is the only redeeming quality to this place.
Drunks don’t care what the food tastes like. And, having been that guy once or twice, I am obligated to give two stars.
But…
I have ordered the same cold roast beef and cheddar with lettuce and mustard on a roll from this place at least 10 times. Both in a late night feeding frenzy and just for a quick lunch. Not once have I received that sandwich.
I’ve had it with mayo. I’ve had it with tomato. I’ve had it without cheese. I’ve seen the counter person write it down… Still, NO. Once, I had it with turkey. That’s no BS.
The bagels taste day-​old even when they are still warm from the oven. The cold cuts fare far worse.
If the sun is about to come up and you are starving… Yes absolutely. You don’t have a choice anyway and you likely won’t care what you are eating. But in daylight hours when the whole world is open for business??? No. Keep driving.

Several months ago I reviewed this buisiness after my first experience with them. Since then I’ve gone back very often for the excellent food and service. I drive form Ronkonkoma to go here! I pass at least 3 other bagel stores on the way there, but I would honestly rather drive 20 minutes out of my way then go anywhere else. The service is fast and friendly, and the food is always top notch, and this is coming from a bagel snob. I’m VERY picky about my bagels and egg sandwiches, and Hot Bagels has the best ones I’ve found on the island. I will continue to come here before work for breakfast!

They have the best bagels 99% of the time — ideally in the morning — when they are fresh and hot out of the oven.
They have daily breakfast and lunch specials, very quick service and even offer bialys and flagels (flat bagels). I normally get a dozen bagels and then eat them at home or the office and they are absolutely fresh and chewy. On one visit I had a toasted cinnamon raisin with butter and it tasted day-​old to me. I won’t let this stop me from coming back as like I’ve said — every other time I’ve had nothing but fresh, hot out of the oven bagels.

My favorite bagel joint, period. I have tried bagels all over NYC and Long Island and these are simply the best. They put bagel seasonings (poppy, garlic, salt, etc.) on both sides of the bagel which makes it burst with flavor. They also have «flagels» which are delicious flat bagels. They have lots of cream cheese flavors including their newest kid favorite «birthday cake cream cheese».

24 Hour Bagels sounds like a kick ass idea. Who’s eating bagels at 2pm on a Tuesday? I’ll bet those bagels aren’t fresh as a daisy.
I’m not looking for «any» bagel in Long Island, I’m looking for the «best» Long Island bagel. Suffolk county would be nice to have the title, why does Nassau county get every good place?! (We do have better pizza, so suck it Nassau!)
Long Island is great because we have the best Bagels/​Pizza/​Delis. Its what defines us. Wanna know something? If you work/​play in a twenty mile radius, you’ll give out 5 stars to places you might say are great without trying bagels in other towns. I travel all over so I’m lucky to sample items from other towns.
When I research these other towns, gimme a bagel from someone who took the time to make a damn good bagel. Because if you suck at making bagels and I go to your location, I’m gonna tell you damn straight I had a better bagel. Suffolk somehow is on suck side.
Bagel Gallery is expecting me to forgo lotsa things. The parking lot has two bars and the folks are a little rough around the edges sitting in their cars. Lots of empty building, I’m not a fan.
But hey, lots of Unilocal Elites gave 5 stars. Great! I don’t want to yuck your yum. If you like this place then rock on!
I split a toasted sesame seed bagel the other day with my son.
All I have to say is: Meh
Sorry, I had better. I drive by this place every day, it’s not going to make drive here on a Sunday for bagels. I don’t care about the line out the door.
I’m giving 3 stars, the bagel I had wasn’t amazing.

Honestly, these bagels are to die for. Literally, to.die.for. I’m talking soft, perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of cream cheese. They make their bagels the ‘old fashioned way’ where they boil them and bake them, and it makes all the difference. They’re so good that I found out they actually deliver their bagels to other bagel stores on Long Island daily — LOL. Add on the fact that its open 24hrs AND right next to a great bar, and you’ve got the perfect spot morning, noon, or night.
I’ve never left disappointed, and I’ve been a loyal customer for 8 years. I really can’t recommend this place enough.

Bagels are delicious as are their egg sandwiches. My only issue is they handle money with the same glove they never take off when they make your sandwich or bagel. Rather disgusting to be honest. The one girl who is notorious for it is the short woman with blackish hair who calls everyone «guy». They would of gotten 5 stars if not for this.

Bagels are always hot and fresh. This is the only bagel shop in the area that is open ²⁴⁄₇

My favorite bagel place! It’s open ²⁴⁄₇ which is awesome when it’s 3 in the morning and you need something to eat after a long night of drinking. The bagels here are always fresh and the prices are very reasonable here. Also if you order an egg sandwich you get a free tea or coffee with it… cool! The staff is very friendly too even when you’re coming in at the late hours of the night and can’t see straight. Conveniently located in a shopping center with 2 bars that will inspire you to come here and get something to eat.

Maybe I miss New York bagels, but these were perfect. Crusty and chewy and perfectly seasoned (I had an everything). The egg sandwich was just what I remember. Can’t wait to go in the morning again.

This place is great for bagels and breakfast sandwiches, but their lunch sandwiches aren’t the greatest. Keep in mind that it truly is a 24 hour bagel shop, specifically.

Best bagel place on Long island. Hands down. Soft bagels great hours. Always fresh stuff. Been in business for years.

I’m giving this bagel shop 5 stars for the following reasons:
–This place is a Long Island landmark. If you haven’t eaten here after a long night of bar-​hopping, you are not a true Long Islander…
–It’s one of the only bagel shops on Long Island that is open 24 hours.
–The bagels are always fresh and delicious no matter when you go there.
–The crowd is very lively and interesting especially at 3 am… when they have a line out the door.
–The breakfast sandwiches are reasonably priced and very tasty and they include a complimentary ice tea, soda or fruit punch… yeah!
–They also have a nice variety of cookies and pastries.
–The staff is friendly and extremely indefatigable.
Try the egg everything toasted with scallion creamed cheese and fresh lox!!! For some reason it tastes much better after 2 am.

Went twice last week while visiting my family and the egg sandwiches are to die for. The bacon was crisp and thick cut, it wasn’t your run of the mill cheap bacon they clearly pay the extra buck for a quality product. Bagels are unbelievable; I’m an everything bagel guy and the mix is perfect with just the right amount of salt. All in all they have everything you could ever want from a bagel store. That Nikki behind the counter is one special guy he really knows his way around a bagel. Thanks hot bagels!

First off, love that this place is open 24 hours. When visiting back home, I can satisfy my deli cravings whatever time I want. This is not the only reason I come her though. It is always tasty, the service is quick and pleasant, and they always make conversation. I love that mom and pop feel that i find is slowly dissipating from long island, which is the reason it is so wonderful. Egg sandwiches rock, and the bagels are soft and chewy. Can not go wrong here at all.

A very basic sub par bagel. I prefer a crispy outside and chewy middle, this was pretty much the same all the way through. There are plenty of bagel places around better than this one. Service was pretty bad too, not to me but to a lady in front of me. She asked if there was any white flour in the oat bran bagel, the answer she got was «I don’t know «. Then she asked for a coffee with the vanilla flavored creamer, the employee was too busy talking and put in regular milk.

If you see a line out the door, do not be deterred. First, its a good indication that this place is good, but second, the employees work so diligent, that the line moves so fast. They have great deals that end at 1pm that includes a sandwich and coffee/​tea/​juice. They have many cream cheese options and their bagels are always fresh

This is Long Island.
It seems that so many of my much loved 24 hour Suffolk establishments are diminishing. From Starbucks to grocery stores to that one quirky laundromat I grew up near, hours are getting slashed. This bagel shop remains and stays strong throughout.
While enjoying a brew at the nearby tap and barrel I ended up getting a little hungry. Thinking for a second I realized we were in the same shopping center of the 24hr bagel place. My mind instantly ran through all the possibilities. Everything with butter? Lox on an egg bagel with cream cheese? It all sounded delicious but I ended up settling on a cinnamon raisin with cream cheese. I asked for it toasted but the guy behind the counter cheerfully told me they just came out of the oven 30 mins ago. Seriously? Man, I was in carb Heaven at that moment.
Our bagels arrived with the oh so typical overly generous portion of cream cheese (which I took half off) in a brown paper bag filled with napkins. My bagel was most enjoyable, especially after a drink and the random craving. For being so fresh I expected it to be a litttttle softer but hey, I’m not going to complain.
Prices were good, plus they offer a commuter special if you are there in the AM hours.
