Specialties
Ristorante Buon Gusto is one of the oldest Italian restaurants in South San Francisco. We offer traditional Southern Italian cuisine, an excellent wine menu, and a full bar, all served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere reminiscent of the best North Beach & Little Italy’s decades; the Fifties and Sixties. Ristorante Buon Gusto welcomes you to come and be transported to another time, when Italian Cuisine was traditional and true. Yes… we are old school and we are proud of it.
We are open for Lunch on weekdays, and for Dinner every day. Lunch offers quick service, and daily Lunch Specials. Do you have a special occasion coming up? Ask about our No Charge Banquet/Meeting Rooms, and let us work with you to plan a memorable event featuring home style traditional food and wine, attentive service, and an elegant yet comfortable ambiance.
Ristorante Buon Gusto is easy to find: just two minutes off 101 (take the Grand Avenue Exit).
Our motto is Chi Mangia Bene, Vive Bene!
Grazie!
History
Established in 1988.
Vincenzo Vecchiola was born and raised in Porto San Giorgio, Italy. He grew up fishing alongside his father. He loves seafood — a fact clearly reflected in the Ristorante Buon Gusto menus.
In 1988, Vincenzo and then partner, Carmelo, opened Ristorante Buon Gusto in its present location. Ristorante Buon Gusto opened to great success right out of the starting gate — a success that the restaurant continues to enjoy to this day. Happily, many of the original Italian locals and their extended families are still regulars at Ristorante Buon Gusto. They know authentic Italian cuisine, and appreciate the level of consistency and authenticity maintained by the Restaurant’s kitchen.
Vincenzo was later joined by the restaurant’s accountants of 15 years, Julian and Catherine, and together they have retained the restaurant’s quaint Italian charm, attentive service and the original simple classic menu.
