Love, love this place. It reminds me so much of being back home in Jamaica. The food is great. Customer service is amazing. There are always a smile that greets you as soon as you enter through the door.

I ordered jerk chicken with sweet sauce. It was amazing. The flavor was perfect. It was the right amount of spice for me(I had the mild).

That was some of the best Jamaican food I have ever had. All the food looked so good I bought a little bit of everything. I ordered: Ox tails, Stew Peas and rice, Fish Soup and Stew Chicken. Every single one of those dishes I just named were amazing. The staff was friendly and on point. The place was packed and verbal orders were flying in, left and right. But they managed to kept track of the barrage of demands swiftly and with precise execution. I will be back here to eat. If you want great service and phenomenal Jamaican food Spring Gardens is your spot.

Terrible service!!! They move soooo slow, even the short cashier lady move like a snail. They have a habit of being cheap with the food, picking the meat up with the spoon and shaking the spoon so the meat drop back in the pan. Come on now. They favor some Jamaican and most men customers by piling they plate up with food but the female and yankee customers dont get the same treatment. Dont believe me?!! Go see for yourself!!! Good food but me and my friends swore we would never eat at this place again because we all noticed the BS. Not to mention the hair my friend found in her food one time.

Simply put. if you are in the mood for some GOOD Jamaican food stop by Spring Gardens. Their cornmeal porridge is so so so good and I love their dumplings as well. My parents rave about their dinners as well.

Pains me to do this, but I have to be honest. Everyone who lives in this neighborhood knows this to be the better alternative to Jamaican food. However, after my last experience, I am compelled to write an honest, unpleasant review. My first bad experience was sometime last summer. I bought a small order of oxtail and rice&peas to find hair shavings throughout the container. After almost a year, I worked up the courage to go there again last Tuesday. Immediately after drinking half of the cornmeal porridge, my stomach began to burn. This was strange to me as I do not have a sensitive stomach. I was in an almost immediate developing stage of a stomach flu. For the past five days, I’ve been bed-ridden with a dangerously low blood pressure, feeling like death. Thanks Spring Garden, for my near death experience and ruining my love of comfort food.

The flavor of the gravy was delicious. This place is authentic. The lady behind the counter gave me the cold shoulder though and I could not help but wonder if I was being discriminated against on the basis of my race. I asked for the prices and she said it depends, but wouldn’t break it down. She said I couldn’t have the greens with my meal, I’d have to have them in a separate container. When I asked for the price she whispered it. Maybe i’m going deaf. No major hassle though. All in all it came to $ 9 which was fair for the huge portion. I would have given four stars if they had let me include the greens. I would have given five stars if their two main offerings weren’t tripe and soy: not my favorites.

Best Jamaican food in Queens, friendly service to top off great food. The place is small and there’s no parking, but I take my food home and pretend I cook it lmao. Try them you won’t regret it!

Certainly well cooked food. In this area it seems to be simple to put out a sign saying Jamaican food but to have to food to back it up is yet another thing. To me and to some yardie’s that I work with, this spot brings the good stuff!

If there’s one thing Spring Gardens lives up to, it’s the adage that neighborhood spots can sometimes be better than sit-down restaurants in terms of what you get for your dollar. Every time I’ve had their food, it never fails to disappoint. I am a big fan of their jerk chicken. FYI: if you order a large, be prepared. VERY prepared. It has enough chicken and rice and peas to hold you down for a couple of days. The ox tail is also a winning dish. Bear in mind, they DO run out of dishes depending on the time of day you go so plan accordingly!
