Why did they close! ! !? !? This place had amazing food! Im so sad. Someone please inform me. Did they move? Lease ran out? Business was bad? I’m so sad

Friendly service and conveniently located off 95 a few minutes from the trampoline place down the road.
The place is short on charm but again plenty of seating and the pizza comes out in 10 minutes. It had a nice crust.

ZERO STARS. We loved Uncle Charlie’s Pizza. We went there the other night to discover Uncle Charlie’s was bought and now sells middle eastern food. They did not change the name of the restaurant but definitely changed the menu.

We were so excited when Uncle Charlie’s opened because we live literally right down the street. Service was phenomenal… back then. Now we call for breakfast (to pick up) and the phone just rings and rings. I’m writing this at 10:45 am after calling to place an order and was hung up on twice (they open at 10am, mind you). You’ve forever lost our business, Uncle Charlie.

The downhill slide continues. Quality and quantity down, cost up. Wait staff seems almost apologetic when serving. This place has done a 180 from what it once was.

AVOID !!!
Here was once a good place for eating; quite pricey but it used to be great. OH HOW THAT HAS CHANGED ! This place is now lousy; the food is over priced and awful now. Plus, after my last two orders for $ 50 each (for one pizza and an entrée — YES this place is very very pricey !!!), I called the Manager saying the food was terrible. Never did I get even the courtesy of a call back. On top of that, weeks after my final order, they slipped in charges against my credit card !!! I called. Spoke to the Manager who refused to take the charge off my card and snipped «Call your Bank.»
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS !!!

What happened to the best steak and chees???
This place is getting worse by the day. I called in my order for a steak and chees and they said will be ready in 15 min. I got there 20 min later to find out they have not started on my order yet. 40 min later and it is the worst steak and chees. The meat is way over cooked and it tasted burned. Not going back no more.

This place was fabulous! We had a small birthday party here for my son after taking kids to Flight Trampoline Park around the corner. The owner and all employees here were so nice! Pizza was great… so many types to try. All the kids were happy with our appetizers, pizza, soda… even the highly allergic kid who found something that met all his needs. Plan on going again. :)

BY far tastes better then Valentino pizza and Jonny’s Newyork style pizza those are corporate illusions because they serve the same exact food 100% just 2 different brothers.

First time i ate here and i loved it! Because of the size of the large i recommend you go with less toppings and ask for well done. More toppings doesnt always make a better pizza especially with this style crust. Saw some bad reviews on here about customer service. I didnt experience that. It’s a family run business and the younger members of the family were awesome. Great customer service. Leela (not sure of spelling) is so cute! I’m in love with her. Hope you read this Leela. Will definitely be back for the pizza… and to see Leela.

Great Customer service ! They had no wraps and little bit of a long wait on food ! But overall when we finally got out food we enjoyed it !! Great decorations! Huge menu to choose from.

As far as their pizza — this is a solid greasy MEH. Sadly a couple of slices from the 7 – 11 up the road are not only a lot better — but also substantially cheaper.
I recently started working nearby and this week had opportunity to check out Uncle Charlie’s, an intriguing little place innocuously located in a short block of Backlick Rd surrounded by a plethora of auto detailing and repair shops. This is precisely the type of spot I was hoping to find near my new office — unassuming, simple good food, and a place where I could get a little respite from the office from time to time.
I kinda found what I’d hope to find, but it came with a dose of disappointment.
The interior is nice and calm with its subdued lighting. Just the type of place where to can sit with a couple friends and have a bite to eat and relax. Didn’t seem to be room if you had a large group, but 3 – 4 people could have a nice time.
Their take on NY Style pizza — slice is the right size and thickness, but that’s pretty much where the NY-​style stops. I had a couple of slices of cheese for lunch. As I said above, they weren’t anything to write home about and the cheese tasted kinda weird. There price for slices just seemed a little high to me too. I took advantage of a lunch deal that got me 2 slices and a can of soda for just over $ 5. Alone cheese slices are $ 2.75 and others range from $ 3.19 — $ 3. 89. I don’t mind paying the price if the pizza is good but this just just not. If I want pizza again for lunch I’ll probably be heading elsewhere.
They serve breakfast — but they don’t open until 10am :-(I guess that’s OK on the days I want an omelet for lunch (breakfast is served all day) but its useless to me if I want to eat breakfast at breakfast time.
There are some other things on the menu that look good like their salads, wraps and gyros. So I might give them a try again down the line but the day I went I really just wanted a good slice of pizza, which I didn’t find.
I do wish they offered subs in a size smaller than 12″ though. :(

We did have one bad experience with Uncle Charlie’s, and we have ordered from them for at least a year now. Here’s what happened. We decided to order a pizza with jalapeño peppers and mushrooms on top as well as pepperoni. By the time it arrived, the pizza was just so soggy from the wet toppings that were placed on it, the crust was wet and when you tried to lift a slice of pizza out of the box, everything slid right off. We realized what caused the problem… The jalapenos and the mushrooms were both canned. We could pick up a mushroom and just squeeze the brine out of it. Look, I can understand when you’re trying to save a buck here and there by not using fresh. I could have lived with it. But, at least DRAIN the toppings or squeeze the brine off before you put it on a pizza! At least throw them out on a cookie sheet with paper towels and squish them dry. That was just… gross.
This probably was the worst pizza I’ve ever gotten from them. Even the cheese wasn’t cooked right in some areas due to the water coming off the jalapenos and mushrooms. I was really disappointed. We each forced a slice of pizza down and threw the rest away.
After that bad incident, we warily placed another order (just pepperoni) and asked for well done. It came out perfect! I would definitely recommend getting their pizza well done from now on. Might even order one tonight!

Ordered delivery:
The only thing good is the food showed up less than their quoted 45 – 50 mins. food came in about 30 mins. Another good thing I suppose is the amount of stuff on their menu but their take out menu is outdated.
We tried to order the cheesecake pancakes, but they’re off the menu.
We tried to order the chocolate chip pancakes, and had to tell the girl 3 times to confirm the order.
The chef salad had old tomatoes, 2 half moons of cucumber, and came in a plastic bag full of pickle juice or something like it. Pretty disgusting.
The shrimp basket was supposed to come with fries, the quantity that came with it is is more like lettuce used to line the styrafoam.
The menu had 6 wings, when I called they said the min order is 8, and fir $ 1 wings they’re pretty crappy… the celery that came with it was awful also, so I entirely agree with the other posts that say poor food quality.
I’m not a food snob either, there’s nothing wrong with food from other pizza chain restaurants and I’ll likely order from Paisano’s next time.

My review is based on a dine in experience at Uncle Charlie’s. Overall the pizza is good considering the area. (I am originally from New York and very particular about my pizza.) My boyfriend and I went to Uncle Charlie’s to use a voucher he had purchased. Although, there was nobody in the dine in area it took over 30 minuties for the waiter to bring us our pizza. It was clear this place is more of take out lunch place than a dinner place. If I worked in the area, I would go there for a quick bite to eat and leave (like I said the quality of the food was good). The service (or lack of) is why there getting a lower rating.

Our first experience with Uncle Charlies Pizzeria of their Crispy Chicken Panini, Gyro Wrap, Fries and Garlic Knots was short of fabulous — recently tried their Caneloni and Baked Ziti with Sausage… WOW! Actually, pretty darn good stuff. I convinced my wife to try them, and she was pleasantly surprised. Thinking they’re being your run-​of-​the-​mill sandwich joint, by being out of the beaten path in Springfield, and maybe an industrial-​type lunch joint, we had hesitated. One of the biggest surprises was their extensive menu… huge with a great variety! But they are very, very good! They are now on our list of the top 3 eateries that deliver in our neighborhood and have things we like, as well as good quality and excellent taste. We’ll be ordering from them again — highly recommended.

Bad food. Bad service. Bad management. Ordered Several times. The last and final time we ordered we were delivered the wrong pizza. When I called I had to ask for them to fix the order. Second pizza had cheese scraped off, was wet, and had a large strange leaf on it. When I called to complain I was told it was my fault it was delivered in that condition because if my location. I should be grateful they even deliver to my area and they are sick and tired of getting complaints.

Fantastic pizza, but better people!
We needed to change our pizza source. With two little ones, you need a «Go To» pizza place. Uncle Charlie’s is our place — of course, I’m partial because «Uncle Charlie» is a baseball term for curveball, and I love baseball.
OTHER PLACES: Delia’s was good when we ate in, as was Springfield PIzza. Delia’s delivery was room temperature and we were underwhelmed. I haven’t reviewed Delia’s yet because I wan to give them another shot, just ordering pizza. I think our order may have been meh because we ordered a bunch of things, and the pizza sat while the rest of order was being made.
UNCLE CHARLIE’S: This pizza was surprisingly large, 14″ had 6 large slices instead of the typical 8.
We ordered a cheese pizza (kids LOVED it) and a black olive/​sausage. Both were great, there was so many toppings on the pizza (I’ve uploaded a picture). I called for take out. They accepted my coupon, even though it was an older one that they weren’t familiar with. They asked if I needed anything else, and provided crushed red pepper an parmesan.
BAD REVIEWS: I mentioned that I had read some very negative, and some very positive reviews. The owner replied that he agrees to go to Belvoir because he doesn’t want to be un-​Patriotic. The housing there is actually out of their 5 miles delivery radius, but he feels bad for the people in barracks who are stuck.
Their delivery people aren’t retired/​reserve/​active duty, so must submit to the line and car search — adding another 10 minutes easy to the delivery time. I’m not surprised the food’s not hot. Cheers to the owner for supporting our troops by agreeing to deliver their anyway — even though it risks alienating some customers (and some people are NEVER satisfied). He told me one woman (I’m not sure if it was from Fort Belvoir or not) ordered a pepperoni pizza, and called to complain when she received it because her children don’t eat pepperoni. He said «well, you ordered it, but OK» and sent out a cheese pizza. She called when she received the cheese and said her kids ate the pepperoni but got sick — and she demanded a refund. He agreed and refunded the money on her credit card! What a nice guy — I wouldn’t have been so patient. Sometimes you’re better off without certain customers.
I don’t live on base, but am near the edge of their delivery range. I’ll try the online ordering and update with my experience. The complaint about local delivery is a vexing one, as it sounds like it isn’t on base.
My general comment for Unilocalers is, «if the product is good, but one aspect isn’t, is that really worth a one star review?»

Very good pizza place close to my work, I went recently just to check it out since they took over from the previous restaurant that use to reside there. I was not disappointed. I went at lunch time and got a slice of pizza. Just saying I got a slice of pizza is not doing Unc Charlies justice, because the slices are very big and some kind of good, i’m talking Samuel L Jackson um um good, snitch. This day actually I got two slices and really I shoulda just ordered one because that uno fills up the whole plate and if you get it to go, it would fill up your WHOLE BOX!
I’m not talking a mall Sbarro box I’m saying a medium size pizza box, they have started something at this innocuous place. Charlie’s get 4.5 stars from the kid, only a .5 deduction because it is in the cut between two service stations in a difficult spot to get to if you didn’t know it was there. I will be coming back and have already turned my co-​workers on to the joint, fellow Unilocalers its now your turn.
