With extensive experience, Up to Speed Tutors is proud to help students with special needs work to catch up to their peers and get closer to achieving grade-​level proficiency. Our staff of special education tutors is licensed, insured, reliable, and professional.

History

Established in 2013.

After it became increasingly clear that many of the students who most needed tutoring in schools were students who were receiving special education services, Brian, a special education teacher, founded Up to Speed Tutors. The company only hires tutors licensed by the state to teach special education and who are capable of helping students with special needs.

Meet the Business Owner

Brian K.

Business Owner

Brian is a special education teacher and tutor, and has experience working with students with various learning disabilities. He works mostly with students on reading comprehension, reading fluency, decoding skills, and writing. He has also spent considerable time helping students prepare for important college entrance exams, like the SAT and ACT. Before becoming a teacher, Brian was a reporter with USA TODAY and Legal Times in Washington, DC. When Brian is not teaching, he enjoys coaching basketball, traveling, and being outdoors.
