Air conditioner goes out in the middle of a hot july day. Instead of calling any AC company, since i was running low on funds and didn’t know exactly how much it would cost to fix the problem, i went to a neighborhood website and checked recommendations from a post from a person experiencing the same problem. Cool Dude Air Conditioning popped up and along with other recommendations, so i decided to do a little research before calling anyone.
I called Cool Dude AC on a monday morning. Clay, the owner answered the phone and i told him if he could send a guy to my place on wed morning. he was on his way to another job and was pretty busy but he gave me his cell # and told me to text my name, address, date and time since i wasn’t really in too much of a rush. Hell, i researched AC companies for a few days and was living a house with broken AC for like 5 days… so what’s a couple more days, right?
Anyways, Clay shows up at my place about 20 min earlier than the appt i set and even calls before hand to confirm it. After showing him the AC unit, he opens it up, tells me i need a new capacitor, gives me a quote and after i accept, it literally takes him 2 min to install. No bs… no nothing. You can tell from his work and talking to Clay, that he is a very up-​front and honest guy who knows what he is doing and isn’t trying to rip you off like some companies will try to do.
Would not want my AC to break down again. But if it does, i know who i’m going to to get it running again!

I called the Cool Dude on Sunday at 9:30pm to tell him our AC was out. He called me back within 15 minutes to tell me he’s be at our at 8:00am the next morning. Our AC was fixed quickly, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. He’s an excellent find!

I’d had another A/​C repair company come out that wanted to charge me an additional $ 1100.00 on top of $ 300.00 I had already paid.
When The Cool Dude came out, he says there is no more to be done to the A/​C unit. The previous guy, from unnamed company, simply didn’t install this part correctly. The Cool Dude simply corrected the issue and was done. Did not try to over charge for other unnecessary repairs and my A/​C was up and running in no time!
I will definitely be calling these guys again. I loved their honesty and their promptness.

I wanted to share my positive experience because these guys did EVERYTHING right, and that’s rare. Our a/​c quit blowing cold so I called around 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday and left a message. I thought maybe I would get a call back on Monday, instead I got a call back Saturday at 8:30 p.m. The owner was out of town for an extended period, so it is encouraging the employees care enough to returns calls that late on a weekend. A service tech was arranged for Sunday, though they couldn’t tell me exactly what time he’d arrive (makes sense given the short notice). I was promised the tech would call to let me know when to expect him, which he did. Hector was our tech and, bless his heart, within a few minutes of arriving he unscrewed the cover to the a/​c unit and was promptly stung by a hornet. A can of Raid later and Hector kept on working. Got the capacitor replaced and the a/​c was up and running again by early Sunday afternoon. I got a remarkable level of service, and I am very impressed with Cool Dude Air Conditioning & Heating.

The cool dude showed up in our house within 10−15min after we called him at 7pm. He was very friendly and explained everything as he checked the unit in the backyard and the switch box that goes with it if there was power going through it. He also did us the courtesy of checking the main breaker in the garage/​my bedroom. He ended up opening the breaker panel to check if the switch is tripped or not. He fixed our ac problem within 10−15min with his expert skills and fast actions in a fair and reasonable price. We will definitely use him again for our yearly ac maintenace in Houston TX spring time. We highly recommend him to others.

Clay saved me several hundred dollars when the technician from an air-​duct cleaning company said I had a mold problem. I found out later that there was no mold problem. I contacted Clay for his opinion and he responded promptly saying:
«Yes, most of the time the cleaning is a scam. If your ducts are dirty, cleaning can be a good thing but most of the time they basically just move dirt around. If they’re done correctly the cleaning is a good thing. The problem with getting them done correctly is that it’s very expensive, usually about $ 11 or &12 hundred dollars.»

Clay, «The Cool Dude,» is a really cool guy. He helped me understand what was going on with my AC system and explained some of the scams that other companies use.
