Green Smog Check Test Only Center

This place is horrible! All the previous reviews were right. i needed a place to get my smog done quickly because I had an early DMV registration appointment. I walked in and the employee did not acknowledge me. Instead, he yelled «what do you want.» I told him that I need to get a smog check. He said that will be $ 68. I informed him that I would like to redeem a Unilocal offer for $ 28. He said that was not his store. I showed him the Unilocal coupon and he said I had the wrong place and told me to just leave. I told him I would report him to Unilocal and he said he would give me $ 10 off. Having no choice, i got the smog done and paid $ 58. Ridiculous! If you can avoid it, stay away from this place!

Best Price in the Bay Area with coupon. This place is busy due to price (first come first serve). Just sign in and wait your turn (one person at counter to keep cost down). If you are interested in Price without fancy accommodations. This is the place.

Came here regardless of all the negative reviews. I was in an out within 20 minutes. Make sure you show the owner the coupon listed on the website. It’s a bit tricky, you may click on the website once it shows you one price then you refresh and it shows you another price wtf! You can’t play me doe ;) The owner himself was pretty nice guess I caught him on a good day.

Super rude owner and operator. Basically a dump. Even the chairs are super dirty. Avoid at all costs.

Very short gentleman basically pulled a bait and switch scheme on me. I brought in my coupon and was told I if used that coupon, there was not free re-​test if the car did not pass the smog check. His attitude was such that it would NOT pass unless I used his internal coupon which cost $ 5 more dollars.
So, I filed a compliant with the Bureau of Automotive Repair.
Avoid at all cost!

Avoid! Walked into the dingy «office» on a Friday afternoon for a smog test and was rudely told my the lady that she couldn’t talk to me unless I put my name down on a list. A «hello» could have worked.
Go to Sunnyvale Smog across the street — way nicer people!

I was looking for a place to get a smog check for my car and saw a Google ad for this place advertising $ 19.95. I was skeptical but figured it couldn’t hurt to try. When I got there I found a grumpy Indian man sitting behind the counter having an argument with a customer over the phone who was apparently just trying to get some info. It seems the guy who works here has absolutely no customer service experience.
There’s a sign in sheet on the counter which I added my name on, there was one other name on it but it had been scratched off either because the customer had been helped or left, either way it appeared I was at the top of the list. When the employee was ready I showed him the ad and asked him what he needed from me. Quite sarcastically he pointed at the ad that stated he needed my paperwork which I was holding out to him, again, no customer service experience. He told me the ad I had only included the single test, no retests should my car fail. While the ad never said anything about the no retest policy, in his defense I couldn’t find anywhere the retest was being offered so it wasn’t even something I was considering.
The ad I had said it could only be used between 1−5pm, I showed up at 1pm. When he told me they wouldn’t be able to get started on my car untill about 2:15pm I asked him why the wait and he said it was because the only guy who does the tests goes on break for 30 minutes at 1pm and there were 2 cars ahead of me.
Anyway, my car was taken my at 2:15pm and I was out of there by 2:40pm. My car passed and it only cost me $ 28 with the certificate. It was the cheapest I’ve ever paid for a smog check but I would rather have paid more to go somewhere that treats their customers better and takes appointments. I would have given them 5 stars because of their price but I took off one star for the wait, one two stars for the crappy customer service.
At least this will be the last smog check I’ll ever need since my next car will be a Tesla Model 3.

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. The tech said they cannot do an oil change because that part of the shop is closed today and he cant smog my car because HE DOESNT DRIVE STANDARD (stick shift)!!!

Definitely inexpensive. If you use the coupon, you don’t get a free retest.
Waiting area was sparse. No Wi-​Fi, no air, old chairs. The line was long. No drinks or machines to buy a drink while you wait.

Nice people, quick service, total cost was $ 28 after processing a $ 19.95 coupon. All-​in-​all, it was a good deal. My BMW passed the smog check and all’s well here! Easy! Great work!

They tested my car and gave me the results. End of story.
The waiting room is just a small area with chairs and there’s only one person testing the cars. The (I assume owner) told me to write my name down and in a couple of minutes he came and took my coupon and car DMV form. He immediately told me how much it would cost which was just like advertised and took my keys. Once it was my car’s turn, they drove my car over and tested it. He then told me my car was ready, I paid, and I was out of there.
It wasn’t anything spectacular but they got the job done.

My husband told me to go to this place to get a smog check for our car. I used the coupon he printed out which had a very good deal. $ 19.95 for a smog check.
When I got there I asked the guy to give me more details about the deal. He said it’s $ 19.95 if your car passes the smog check plus $ 8.25 for the smog certificate. He said that if your car doesn’t pass the smog check you don’t get your $ 19.95 back but you can go back and get the same deal. The coupon that I used can only be used once and I can only use it from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Another option was to pay $ 31.75 if it passes or not. I took the $ 19.95 deal and crossed my fingers hoping my car would pass the smog check. I’m glad it did. My total was only $ 28.20 for a smog check. Not bad. I also told the guy at the front that I needed the car done by a certain time because I had to go pick up my daughter from school which was about 20 minutes away. Anyways, I ended up picking her up at a later time but he still kept his promise that my car would be done at a certain time which was 40 minutes passed the time my daughter would get out of school. The technician and the guy at the front made it work out for me. I’m glad I didn’t have to go back and forth and change the time. Great customer service‼

Green Smog check failed in a number of specific ways: 1) poor technical service, 2) poor customer service, 3) inability for management to own mistakes and solve issues, 4) acted deliberately to retaliate against a consumer who lodged complaints.
1) My car has CARB legal modifications certified by Dinan. When presented with paperwork, the facility would not pass the car. A Dinan representative went out of his way to hand deliver an updated sticker to place on the car with a hard copy of the CARB EO certification. This was still refused.
2) Management pushed the issue onto the tech and refused to take any ownership. Management pushed the onus onto a subordinate and then pushed everything onto a regulatory body and out of the shop.
3) While in the shop I watched a new, open element oil filter get dropped by the tech. I pointed this out to the vehicle owner and it was overheard by the proprietor. The denials of wrongdoing were then followed by denials that it does not make a difference. As a degreed mechanical engineer with 6 cars and as a car enthusiast who does as much work as I can on my own from minor fluid changes to suspension and cooling system rebuilds and interior restorations, I can assure you it does matter. When pressed, the tech did admit the oil filter was dropped. The woman was barreled over and was charged full price for the oil change. Another vehicle owner, upon hearing this, questioned if he should continue with his vehicle service.
4) Knowing that I had flagged the issue, the shop was being vindictive. They flagged my vehicle for review by a CARB referee to ensure I would need to pursue this further and to get me out of the shop. They also refused to review the new carb sticker and paperwork provided by the uniformed Dinan representative who delivered it. This is a clear ACT of RETALIATION BY A BUSINESS on a consumer.
Complaints have been filed to the BBB, CARB, and the District Attorney.
STAY AWAY.

Hm, looks like the day after my review, they raised the price to their basic service for $ 31.75, which is the standard in the area now, dropping a star.

Everything was done well. The customer service was friendly and helpful. It was Sunday and lots of cars there. Took 1 hour. Didn’t pass, but its my fault.

I saw a Smog Test coupon on their website but I wasn’t sure if there are any other hidden costs. Therefore, I called to ask what’s included in the deal and what’s not. The guy yelled at me on the phone and said all information was on the website. I looked through the website but the information I want to know was NOT on the website. I tried to ask nicely to get my specific question answered but he kept yelling at me. I eventually hung up.
Later I found out that the CA certificate fee was an additional fee I have to pay and this information was NOT on the website.

Avoid!!! I’m definitely never coming here again. The owner is super rude and has no customer service skills. Don’t fall for their $ 29 smog check «deal» since they charge you extra for the certificate. Drive down a mile or two to Auto Technica instead ($ 38 total), where there isn’t a wait AND you don’t have to deal with rude people.

I found this place absolutely disgusting, I am absolutely amazed with this filthy hole in the wall (literally) building somehow is still standing.
Grumpy dirty old Indian looking man (possibly the owner) at the front desk is as rude as he can be.
He has no intentions to service anyone walk in to his Scummy shop.
I value customer service and am willing to pay $ 10 more to be treated like a customer with some appreciation. I am more than 100% and 10 $ extra happy to give my business to someone else who values customer service.
And to the dirty old Indian man, please don’t think you can treat people as you are a higher class I hate to tell you it’s not India.

The owner (or manager) is simply crazy. We arrived and went inside at the front desk. He arrived and started yelling at us because «No one should wait in front of the front desk», What??? when I told him why he’s yelling he became even more aggressive.
Completely nuts and creepy.
