Sunnyvale Smog Center

On a Friday around 2:30 pm, I called to ask whether their online coupon price ($ 39.75 plus $ 8.25 for the certificate) was valid for a minivan. It was. I then asked if they could get me in the same day. He replied to ask whether I could come on Sunday morning, but I declined and asked again whether he had time to get me in that day. He agreed to a 4 pm appointment.
I arrived on time and Tai was waiting. He took my car immediately and I walked a block and a half to Starbucks, ordered a coffee and walked back. He was finishing as I arrived, so the entire process took 20 minutes. My car passed and he had sent the information to the DMV. Everything was very quick and smooth and I would recommend this place.

Had the pleasure of meeting Sam who was able to do my smog check in about 20 min. Used my Groupon voucher. Nice, friendly place and quick. Plan to come back for my other vehicles

Very good experience. They do appointments so you don’t have to wait behind a bunch of people. I had a Groupon that they wouldn’t take due to the age of my truck. (My fault. I didn’t read the fine print) They offered me a discount anyway and my 1993 Ford pick up passed in a timely manner. I’ll be back in 2 years.

Coming from Virginia, we didn’t know exactly what to expect at a smog check, but this place was quick and great.
We got in right away and just sat there while he did the check. Even read some magazines from 2013, but hey, you are paying for smog not hot-​off-​the-​press media. The guy was super friendly and ensured we knew exactly what we needed to take to the DMV.
By printing the coupon from the website, we even saved a few bucks. Great deal!
Do pay attention to the directions listed on the website. It’s the business at the very end of all the auto service places. It can be a little confusing. But if you go all the way to the back, you are in the right place.

Getting down to business is what this business is all about, and I respect that.
I’ve been rolling deep in a 1993 Honda Accord. It’s got A/​C, an aftermarket stereo, and was stolen twice, so it’s hella sick. It’s that time of the year again where The Man wants to make sure I’m green enough to drive my super fresh ride, so I gots to get it smog checked. Since my most radical car is over the legal limit to drink those papers said I had to take it to a STAR certified smog center. I don’t know what that means, I just know that Sunnyvale Smog had that shit covered so we were cool.
When I pulled up the guy was all like «I don’t know if that car is going to pass,» and I was like «Ya I’m a little concerned about that too.» Then he said «Fill out this paperwork and it should be ready in about twenty minutes,» and then I said «Okay.»
I went down the street for some bomb ass Korean food and then showed up like an hour later to pick up the illest of rides. When I got there the dude was super chill about me taking my time, and then he was all like «It passed.» and then I was all like «That’s a relief,» and then he was all like «The total come out to $ 70,» and I was all like «That seems a tad steep for a smog check but you were the most reasonably priced STAR certified smog center I found within a 10 mile radius so here is your money fine sir,» they he was all like «Here’s your change and paperwork. Have a nice day.» The place wasn’t as fresh as my Korean lunch was but it was pretty chill.

Used Groupon — very easy just showed with mobile app and paid $ 8.25 for certificate (some shop doesn’t describe about an extra fee and will give a sueprize but Sunnyvale Smog Center described it and explained again when checked in — very transparent).
No waiting time and the work was done so quick. Spacious waiting area and very kind owner. Great place to go for smog check, highly recommended!

This place is great, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes… no appointment needed. Service complete with a smile! The rate was very fair and was less than I thought it would be. I would highly reccomend this place if you need to get a smog check in Sunnyvale.

— Once you go there — they’ll add another $ 10 if your car is a luxury car or Truck
— Even as the coupon say «WE HONOR ALL LOCAL COMPETITOR’S COUPONS», they refused to take a coupon from a business a few block north — because it was «that’s Mountain View»
The owner looks like he doing you a favor — not service !!
What ever — they have the right to charge however/​whatever — and I have the right to refuse and find a better alternative.
Go instead to «Premier Star Smog Check» on 237 and El-​Camino.

This place use to be 5-​stars. I used to take my cars here. The guy that works there knows what he’s doing. Most smog places I’ve went to in the pasts don’t want to be bothered by questions. But the last two times there wasn’t like the past times. Here’s the break down.
–His pricing use to be competitive.
–If you don’t mind paying $ 65 or more for an obd1 car (1995 and older) take it then take it here.
–obd2 cars usually are about $ 10 less.

Very nice guy and great that it’s open Sundays — but unfortunately their software wasn’t updated so they were not able to smog check my diesel.

He got me right in and was very fast. I recently moved from Washington where you go to state ran places so it was cheap and easy. However moving to CA it has been a pain! The last few smog checks were costly and time consuming… but thankfully I found Sunnyvale smog! Great price and was quick. Will definitely come back!

Exceptional place for a quick and easy smog check ($ 40). I was in and out in 15 minutes and the service was superb. This smog location is all the way at the end of this small auto business row. The owner grabbed my car for me since I parked in the front and quickly did my smog. He also offered to check my tire pressure and thank goodness, cause they were dangerously low. Afterwards, he thoroughly went over my paperwork and confirmed that he would electronically submit my smog for me since I had already paid the DMV. Highly recommend, he couldn’t have made it easier!

Getting ready to sell my old car, and needed it smogged… wanted to get it taken care of before New Year’s holiday and the smog shop closest to home was closed, so I found Sunnyvale Smog Center on Unilocal and dropped in with a web coupon.
Tai was able to take care of me immediately… I wish I’d had cash to pay since the coupon was very generous, but he forgave me for the inconvenience. The smog check took 10 minutes or less and I was off.
Highly recommend Sunnyvale Smog Center. Can’t guarantee you’ll always find them at a slow time, but they’re efficient and friendly.

My car, a 2001 sedan, was required to be checked at a STAR station. I looked at the websites and Unilocal pages of many smog check stations in the area. They were either outright expensive or their coupons weren’t simple, straightforward discounts. Positive Unilocal reviews for these other locations seemed (to me) to come more from people that were more concerned with how nice and charming the attendant was than what the actual service costs.
This location offers a coupon that brought my total amount paid to $ 38 (I did not have to do an evap test) and I believe this is a very good price for the area. The attendant was nice, the test was quick, the waiting accommodations are perfectly adequate. Remember to print the coupon and bring it with you, as they need it for their records.
I would recommend this place and I will be back next time.

We have 2006 Subaru Outback Sport. Two years ago (2012) we had the smog test by them. They charged $ 40. This year they want $ 50. We went to AAA Speedy Smog Test Only in Sunnyvale. They charged $ 35.

It’s a smog center. I called ahead, he got me in when he said he could, and provided me with what I needed. No hassle.
About three years worth of random magazine subscriptions on-​hand to keep you busy while waiting.
