from what i’ve heard, Hi on Fi is a pretty new store. i went recently and the guy there was nice but he said their selection wasn’t too good right now because they were wiped out during the holidays. the specialize in vintage stereo equipment, from what i saw it was mostly turntables and speakers. it’s a pretty cool idea but i feel that they are limiting themselves. i’m actually putting together a stereo system right now, i just got a receiver and speakers from best buy and i’m in the market for a rack tape deck and CD player, but i didn’t see any of those here. it’d be cool if they offered newer turntables as well, they still make some high end units that would be more reliable than stuff from 40 years ago that you might be able to find for dirt cheap at a garage sale if you’re lucky. they also have a lot of records for sale but they all seem to be used records from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. a lot of the better selling albums from that era have been reissued and you can buy new copies, so why not stock those if you’re really going for the highest quality possible?
