Gabriel was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was extremely professional while also being fun and energetic on our wedding day. Leading up to our wedding Gabriel was always easy to get a hold of and during calls brought up things that we never even thought about, to say he was a help during planning is an understatement. We received our photo booth photos the day after our wedding and the full wedding photos about 2 months after. He states the date you will get your photos in his contract and delivered them on time, which was relieving for us to know exactly when we would be getting them and never having to follow up to ask about the status. The photo quality was above our expectations. The hardest part now is choosing our favorites! I would recommend Gabriel any day.

I used Van Wyhe photography for my late spring wedding this year. They did a fantastic job! I love the photos I received. I used them for a couple pre wedding shoots and my wedding.
Gabriel made sure to follow up and checked to see if all my needs were met. During the wedding, both Gabriel and Jaci were so accommodating and made the day so much better when minor chaos went on. The photo booth was so much fun. We didn’t expect it to be that popular since the majority of our wedding guests were older family members. They made everyone feel comfortable. The photos are funny to look back at.
The only con would be that the photos took two months to be processed, which was completely understandable. We were forewarned way ahead of time and it was listed on the contract. I was just anxious to see the photos but willing to wait for better quality. They’re popular and extremely busy during the summer. That being said, Gabriel was still easy to contact and kept me updated even before I asked.
I would HIGHLY recommend them. The pictures speak for themselves!
P. S. Gabriel was awesome, but I did want to note how awesome Jaci was as well. For those that may worry on the quality of the second shooter, I was completely satisfied with Jaci’s work. :) Definitely recommend having a second shooter based on our experience.

We had the opportunity to have Gabe and his wife Jaci shoot our wedding at Edgefield outside Portland this past month. Gabe is amazing! I am not one to like being behind a camera, but he had awesome suggestions and made the whole experience fun. We did an engagement shoot first which was really nice and gave us more time to get to know Gabe which also made the day of more comfortable being
behind the camera. He is super organized and helpful with going through timelines and giving you advice on some does and don’ts for the day of to make it run smoothly! I can’t say enough and am looking forward to seeing all the final photos!

My husband contacted Gabriel after looking at various photographers online. We booked our family shoot after a very friendly and super professional exchange. Gabriel was attentive and quick to respond from the get-​go, and our photo day experience wasn’t any different. Gabriel was professional, friendly, and so, so easy to work with. We have a rather large family (seven of us all together), and he worked with our large group effortlessly. He was great with our little kids, and had some fun photo ideas for our older teenage boys as well. In fact, our boys were less than enthusiastic about having their photos done, but Gabriel put them at ease quickly, and it shows in portraits. We ended up with beautiful, personal, expressive and happy family photos, which is no small feat considering the size of our group and the range in ages. I can’t speak highly enough of Van Wyhe photography! Our experience from start to finish was wonderful! These photos are a gift and a blessing to our family — so highly recommended!

Of all our wonderful wedding vendors, Van Wyhe Photography was the best. Gabe and his wife, Jaci are not only incredibly talented and professional photographers, but they were also therapists, cheerleaders, planners, problem solvers, and super heroes on our «big day». We were interested in them because of their beautiful work and reasonable pricing, we hired them because of their excellent packages and professionalism, and we have and will continue to recommend them to our friends and family because they provided us with all we could have asked for and more. They have a gift for helping you to relax into the chaos of the day and even helping you to enjoy it! They made me, my husband, and our loved ones feel so comfortable and relaxed in front of the lens and throughout the day. I can say absolutely that our wedding and reception were so much better because they were there– and you can see it in our gorgeous photos.
We are so pleased with our photos and with our whole experience from my first email to them to our final wedding photos. We can’t wait to hire them again for the important future milestones we’ll have together as husband and wife!

Gabe and Jaci were so incredible to work with! They did our engagment session, our wedding and my trash the dress session with my horse. They were so fun, engaging, creative, and a wonderful addition to the best day of our lives. The photos were artistic, detailed and captured the feel of moments that meant the most to us. I could not be any happier with how the photos turned out. Gabe has an amazing eye for beautiful shots and truly knows every detail. His lighting was impecable and he helped us to be natural in front of the camera. They went above and beyond helping us through our day and celebrating with us! Hands down, the best wedding decision I made!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I am not photogenic at all and was really nervous about my wedding photos, Gabriel was able to make some recommendations on how to pose and things to remember and I was so happy! He is incredibly talented and really easy to work with. I live in portland and I wish I could force all my friends to get him down here for their weddings! He helped us plan the day and make a schedule, and he even helped us adhere to it! He got us our photos in a timely fashion and works really hard to make sure they were all beautiful! He’s the greatest!

We discovered Gabe Van Wyhe at a Seattle bridal expo, and I was instantly drawn to the style of his wedding albums, which included attractive vintage washes. He is warm and responsive, and I was so impressed with his light, upbeat manner on the ‘day of’. The pictures were AMAZING– we loved every picture and he really captured the fun, beautiful, and intimate essence of our day. He took the time to deliver the ‘best’ pics in a traditiional wash, vintage-​y warm wash and also b & w which looked awesome. The hardest part was selecting the 40 to go into the physical album since we loved them all. I’ve seen wedding pictures that are stiff and with generic poses– he captured plenty of unique, candid and emotion focused photos of the bridal party and of bridal pre-​ceremony prep (approx 10 – 13 different settings around the property) in a relatively short period of time. His wife Jaci captured great pictures of my mom and I, sisters and I before wedding which I cherish.
The photo booth was so much fun and we bought instamix prints for our guests to take home which i recommend– Gabe simply takes an instamix (polaroid) shot and a ‘pro camera’ shot, which enables guests to have a physical memento of the wedding. He brings props which adds to the fun.
In sum, I definitely recommend van Wyhe photography– he is flexible and responsive to your unique needs, both in terms of the wedding day poses you prefer, and the end product you desire.

I registered just to write a review for Gabe. I’m so glad that we chose him as our photographer, and he did much more than just a photographer. A week after we first met him, we got a package from him with a book on wedding planing, a nice envelop and papers for us to write letters to each other to be opened later, and a sixpence! We had our engagement shoot in March and had a great time with him. He showed us exactly what to do and made the shoot much easier than we thought. We had a wedding planning meeting after the shoot, and he told us many tricks of what he learned from the many wedding that he attended. Only one week after the engagement shoot, we got all the edited photos from Gabe, each with 3 editing effects! They are very beautiful! We and all our families and friends love them! I’m very looking forward to having him taking pictures on our wedding day in June. I would highly recommend Gabe to all the future brides!

Gabe and Jaci were the first thing my wife and I were sure about during the decision making process for our wedding (other than we wanted to marry one another of course). Their quality of photography blew us away, once we sat down and talked with Gabe, we knew it was the right fit. They helped us so much during the course of planning, nailing down time schedules, and being flexible knowing the chaos of the day. When my husband and I decided to have anniversary pictures done, I decided to call around… I talked to several different photographers and let them know a little about my husband and I. Gabe was the only photographer that I spoke to that came up with some fun ideas! I am not a photographer so I expect the professional to let us know what will look good and fit my personality. He really listened to me and came up with a great idea for our shoot.
Gabe was so flexible with our needs (We needed last minute pictures and we needed them back FAST so we could put them on Christmas cards). Gabe was able to fit us in and had some awesome shots already planned out by the time we got to the shoot. The shoot went very smoothly and Gabe made us feel comfortable every step of the way! In the end we got more amazing photos than we expected. The only hard part now is picking our favorite one! Thank you Van Wyhe Photography!

Gabe and Jaci are the best! We were so lucky to have them as our photographers. They were easy to work with, organized and professional. Thanks to some advice Gabe gave us at our first meeting our wedding was totally fun, stress-​free and low-​key, just the way we wanted it. Everything ran smoothly and on time. I also had beautiful boudoir photos done by Jaci in pinup fashion and old school Hollywood glamour, which I would also highly recommend! I love Gabe’s photography! He has a great eye for color and composition, and gets to know his clients personally so he can add unique, individual touches to each client’s photos.

Our pictures were absolutely AMAZING!!! Gabriel & Jaci’s professionalism, creativity and quality were all noticed and commented on by the wedding party and our families. They captured all of the moments. When we saw the pictures, we were blown away and they captured every moment so that we are able to relive our dream come true fairy tale wedding day. Gabriel’s positive attitude, passion for his work, love of couples and weddings, and joy for what he does really shined during his interview. It was so obvious that Gabriel would be a pleasure to work with on the actual wedding day and would help reduce the stress of the wedding. From one bride to another… do pictures before!!! My husband and I were adamant we wanted a traditional wedding where the first time he saw me was coming down the aisle — he wasn’t really able to see me until right before I reached him at the altar. If I’d do it over, that’s the only thing I’d change. We would have been able to get so many more amazing pictures and I really would have appreciated the extra «us» time. There is so much going on the actual day and I really missed out on just me and him time — just a suggestion. I wouldn’t listen to anyone who told me the same thing either — LOL. :) Enjoy the most amazing day of your life and cherish every moment.

I (Seattle bride) had booked Van Wyhe Photography after meeting him at the Tacoma wedding show & can’t say enough about how happy we are to have worked with him and his wife. All of our engagement and wedding photo’s are perfect and working with him was easy, organized, and super fun throughout the whole wedding planning (and actual wedding experience). We had been super impressed with our engagement photos, but waited to review them until after we received the wedding photo’s back. And when we were going through the pictures, we were so impressed with how we were really able to experience every moment all over again — which is really what every couple wishes they get when they open their pictures. Gabe really went above and beyond the call of duty by working with our DJ, family, and officiant to capture all moments and keep the wedding moving smoothing, which we really appreciated. When you book a photographer, I think every bride fears that something important will be missed, or that the photographer won’t capture the essence of the wedding, but our photo’s captured everything and have kept permanent smiles on our faces! We know our guests will love them too! We are so happy we did the photobooth which was a hilarious addition to the wedding and were glad our guests will be able to have beautiful, funny, professional pics as well, & we know they appreciate that! Our wedding & engagement pictures turned out better than we could have ever imagined… they are perfect. We are so happy we booked Van Wyhe Photography — they were amazing at photography, fun to work with, super organized, and really worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted. I cannot say enough about this wonderful couple and the beautiful photos they shot for our engagement shoot & wedding. The package we got cost us about ¹⁄₃ of what comparable local photographers quoted. They were incredibly helpful, with their industry wisdom, in giving insight to the schedule of our wedding day. We are so so lucky not only to have found wedding photographers whose style was exactly what we were hoping for AND in our price range but to click with them so well that we consider them friends. Gabe is awesome… hands down one of the best photographers in the area. Service, quality and a personality to go with it! We’ve worked a few weddings together now and work well together. He’s on the Adam’s DJ Service preferred vendor list and we are happy to recommend him to our clients.

I began to write a review but it just got too long, there’s so much to say. So let me paraphrase:
1) Gabriel and Jaci are a fantastic team, they work so well together and with you and yours. Their professionalism and joyful attitude is beaming from the first time you meet them. We had guests and family members coming up to us telling us how impressed they were before the wedding even began– just by watching them work.
2) I could blabber on about how breath taking their pictures are but my words won’t do it justice, just go to their blog or website and take a look for yourself, you don’t need Unilocal to tell you how amazing the end product will be.
3) We had little mishaps and random things go wrong on our wedding day, just like any wedding day, that were COMPLETELY unrelated to the photography and Gabriel and Jaci went out of their way to help us. They were so happy to be there with us, and we were so happy to have them there.
4)The wedding is over, I have pictures on the wall and albums coming my way and I will say without an ounce of exaggeration that our pictures were our most valuable purchase of the whole wedding planning madness, and the photographers we chose were worth every penny. Nothing could have been better!
As the months go by after the wedding we’ve been working with Gabriel and designing our wedding albums and he’s been so great! Although we’ve already paid for everything and are now officially «past clients» the professionalism and positive attitude is still there.
