For Heavens Cakes

5 stars is because it’s GREAT that the place closed down and other people won’t be taken advantage of like we were on more than one occasion. I’m surprised the place stayed open as long as it did! Bad business… one of the worst I’ve dealt with and it takes A LOT for me to say something like that.

CLOSED. Too bad, because they had tasty, inexpensive cupcakes! Chocolate bombs, Miss Molly’s, and a cinnamon bun that was simple perfection!

Patrick N… That customer was me! Prior to that she was *yelling* at the ringing phone. I should have taken that as my cue and exited quietly, but instead I persevered. I honestly thought I was on some kind of secret, hidden candid camera? I still look back on that whole exchange as some kind of strange dream. Won’t go back.

I got the cookie n cream cupcake and the miss Molly cupcake. The cookie n cream cake part was a little dry but very good however the frosting was very bland and had a waxy texture. The miss Molly cupcake was really good. The cake part had little droplets of chocolate chip so it gave it a nice texture and surprise. The frosting was good too not too sweet.

Service was nice and they had a good selection, we got a sampler of 6 and while they were pretty to look at, I was not wowed by any of them.
Pretty much the same taste as out of a cake mix box, the frosting also a bit artificial.
Props for the great prices and the free and easy parking lot out back, the cupcakes are not really worth returning for though.

I Special Ordered a Rum and Raison cake. It was fantastic! Melted in your mouth. The staff is beyond courteous. Warm and friendly and VERY interested in the quality of their work. I cannot recommend this bakery enough.

I’ve been a For a Heavens Cakes customer for about five years, but I’m afraid that my last experience there will keep me from ever returning. In short, I witnessed the owner give the rudest service I could imagine.
As my friends and I waited in line to order a few cupcakes to-​go, a woman ahead of us inquired about a future order, to which, the owner sighed and rolled her eyes, then said, «That will just take a looooong time.» Their conversation continued as the customer ordered a few cupcakes to-​go, and the owner had an obviously curt and annoyed attitude. (She should have realized how this customer is inquiring to give her business, and should therefore be treated with courtesy, not annoyance!)
None of this abated when my friends ordered; in fact, it got worse.
By the time we finished our order, we were rudely told that the total came to $ 12. When we handed over a $ 20 bill, the owner took it and just said, «I don’t have change for this!» Then she dropped the bill back on the counter and walked into the back.
We were all shocked to see such rude customer service.
We were even thinking that the owner was on some sort of prescription medication, as she did not seem fully composed. She was not slurring her words, but it seemed like it was taking a lot of very conscious effort for her to not. Maybe this would explain her mood.
Anyway, this was surely such a terrible experience that I have no problem overlooking For Heavens Cakes any time I am looking for desserts nearby.

I have been going here for years, it was always darling, and the best was the incredible 99cent cup cakes. Well that’s not the case anymore, I understand it I sunder construction on the outside but the tasting room is a wreck torn chairs and just dirty all well as the rest of the place. Cup cakes are even 2 $ now it’s just so very disappointing

I’m writing a review after waiting for a while … they never contacted me back! Since I moved to Westlake. Village 3 years ago I didn’t know where to ordered my cake for a birthday party I done for 100 ppl, unfortunately the cake was looking nice from the outside but at the moment we cut the cake was all mashed, that we couldn’t serve it. It was a really embarrassing situation for me even ppl had a lot of fun at the party I really care, I called them day after to let them know about the experienced I had, they told me they will call me back and they never did, this happened march 20^th 2015. after we spend 250 in a cake that went to the garbage I was expecting at least the called me with some explanation about it ;no professional at all.

The cake came out great! Our son was so surprised and loved his cake. We ordered a minecraft inspired cake with chocolate cake and it came out so delicious! The cake was spongy and perfectly made. Very very moist. The ordering process was very easy. Definitely worth the price. I will definitely be coming back. They opened up early so that we could pick up the cake and be at the venue for the party. Thanks again Jen! Will definitely share pictures of his reaction soon!

I’ve ordered a custom cake here in the past. It was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted! My family and I love their chocolate bomb cupcakes. So tasty!

Went in to their store to order a special cake for my daughter’s birthday. Showed them a photo of what I wanted. I was so happy with the finished product. It was even more beautiful than I anticipated. Was very pleased and will go back to order more. Also they have little cakes and cupcakes you can buy on the spot. The cake designer did a lovely job and personally delivered it herself.

Probably the rudest people I have ever worked with. They yell at their customers and could care less if they ruined someones wedding due to their lack of professionalism when delivering a wedding cake. I am trying to help any bride out do not use them they will ruin your wedding cake experience and then tell you that «you should have know that is what happens in hot weather you are screwed» That is what I was told good luck if you do decide to use them

This used to be my go to place for a cupcake. Simple yet very tasty. However, I just left and was very disappointed. The 99 cent cupcake has just gone up to $ 2.00. Here is a tip, if your going to increase your price 100% over a six month period then increase the size of the cupcake. $ 2.00 for the small cupcake being sold along with 100% price increase is just not good business. Its cheaper for me to make them at home. Better yet if I am craving a cupcake I will just drive down the street to your competitor in Westlake. Yes, their cupcake is a little more expensive BUT at least its chunky and has real fruit and quality ingredients. Sorry you lost a customer today. I have been ordering your cupcakes and occasionally driving by for a quick fix at lunch for about 5 years. Good Luck and Peace Out.

Love these cupcakes! Inexpensive and taste like they are homemade! The only homemade tasting cupcakes in town. The vanilla with chocolate frosting is my fave! Love the Oreo one and chocolate chocolate cupcake!
The reason for the 4stars is because of their customer service. They aren’t very friendly. I also love a good deal, and they NEVER have any deals! I couldn’t even get a free cupcake for her birthday! Kinda disappointed about that.

I was told about For Heavens cakes from a good friend and client who would rave about this place, she actually goes there every Saturday with her hubby… very habitual. My friend brought some cupcakes with her when we had dinner together the night and now I am hooked!!! The cupcakes are delicious, they tasted fresh like they had just come out of the oven, there are so many flavors to choose from and the best part is that they are so affordable… only $ 12.00 for a dozen!!! The owner Lisa is so sweet, you can tell she loves her business. This is a great place to go and grab treats before a friendly get together, or take to the soccer games. or for any occasion! They make beautiful wedding cakes as well.

The cupcakes here are always soft, spongy, and moist. The frosting is always great as well, especially the buttercream and cream cheese frosting.
The citrus flavors aren’t for me, but the Ms. Molly, which is a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting, is amazing and just the right amount of chocolate. My favorites are the vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting and the red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Probably the best frosting I’ve had at any cupcake shop and consistently soft and moist cupcakes.
Definitely worth the $ 1 per cupcake. The prices now are $ 1.50 each, but if you get a dozen it’s $ 1 each (which already includes tax).

Plenty of parking in the back of the building. Beware The shopping center is under renovations. The store is nicely decorated and the cupcakes are well priced. 99c what a deal for a fresh baked cupcake.
Bought 18 cupcakes for $ 18. The taste of the cupcakes overall was good. Moist and not too sweet. In the need of more cupcakes will go back again. I was helped by the owner. She was nice and helpful.

Stopped in here after my opinion of their 99 cent cupcakes was challenged. I thought I’d give them another go.
I bought eight kinds of cupcakes and will update my review as I finish them.
YES:
Chocolate Bomb — this cupcake was very moist and the ganache on top was a perfect flavor to go with the cake. I would definitely recommend this cupcake.
NO:
Orange Sherbert — the cake had a good texture, but I generally found the flavor to be boring. I did not enjoy the frosting on top. I found it to taste thick and cheap. It reminded me of the frosting I get on really cheap cupcakes at chain grocery stores. I would not get this one again.
Lemon — while the cake was a little more flavorful than the orange sherbert, the frosting had the same consistency and the same kind of taste I didn’t go for. I wouldn’t get this one again.
Cookies and Cream — Attractive cupcakes, but the frosting was the same style as on the lemon and orange. too thick, dense and … is it shortening? It doesn’t taste like what I’m used to at other artisan cupcakeries. The cake in this cupcake looked nice, with possible piece of cookie sprinkled throughout it, but I didn’t taste that. It tasted very plain, and with a little bit of a funny aftertaste.
MAYBE?
Red Velvet — I liked the cream cheese frosting on top, but would have preferred a bit more. The cake was fine, though on the dry side.
Miss Molly — If I recall, this is a Devil’s food cake. I liked the frosting on this one — tasting more like a sugary frosting than the creamy stuff on the orange and lemon cupcakes. The cake was good, and I liked that it had mini chocolate chips in it. This added really nicely to the overall texture and flavor. I might try this one again.
My husband tried the orange sherbert and cookies and cream and after eating them and then drinking some water, he said the frosting taste became more isolated and he felt that what was «off» in the taste was something that wasn’t butter, that was designed to be used in place of butter. «Like the butter on movie popcorn» he described the unpleasant taste. «That’s why the frosting tastes weird.»
Bottom line, if I’m going to spend $ 12 I think I’d rather get 3 – 4 really amazing cupcakes than $ 12 of these. For Heaven’s Cakes would be good if you only want chocolate ganache.

The cupcakes do taste «homemade» but not homemade from scratch, more like homemade from a boxed mix. Still good but not necessarily «gourmet.» Does that make sense? If you’re a cake or cupcake fan, you’ll understand. Some days you’re in a mood for just this kind of cupcake. The real buttercream frosting is, well, the icing on the cake. You don’t find real buttercream a lot so that’s to be commended.
Ultimately you’ll get in trouble if you buy the dozen, trust me. I had to give my remainders to a neighbor so I wouldn’t eat them all. Good sign? Probably. Just beware, these aren’t the kind that will satisfy you with just one. They’re like chips or popcorn and suddenly that box’ll be empty before you realize it.
