Wild Side Smoke Shop

I’ve been here in the past and had mediocre experiences of kids trying to sell me $ 400 «water pipes» despite me telling my budget.
But today I went it and had a great experience! Was helped by a girl with green hair who was not pushy while still doing her job and offering upgrades, etc, which I know they are meant to do just like any retail business. Anyway, thank you to this girl! Because of her non-​annoying attitude I spent ~$ 200 whereas in the past I’ve just walked out buying nothing because the sales clerks would not listen to my wants when suggesting products.

Super friendly and helpful staff! Wasn’t expecting as much help as I got but the manager was super nice and helped me get a really good deal! Great first time experience!

Garvin is awesome! He is very friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to work with you on price. The selection is unparalleled.

Super aggressive employees who want you to purchase what they want you to purchase. Actually ignoring what I came into the store for and handing me other things he swore were better. Everything is a chinese import but the worst part is that they get paid commission, and it shows. Will be shopping at Doughmain which is about 2 minutes away.
*11/​17 — I recently stopped in cause my regular shop was out of something i needed. and when he rung it up he slyly tried to change the price to charge me and extra couple bucks for it. Stay away from this place.

I can’t believe how outrageously rude this guy was. My intuition immediately told me this guy was bad news. Overly confident knowing his stuff, which bit him in his own ass. Anyway, my friend needed a new piece and we first drove to DOUGHMAIN (excellent service) and they didn’t have the size we needed. He told us he could order it for us & I told him that we were going to check out WS Thousand Oaks. DM was kind enough to give us exact measurements to give to WS. Got to WS and told the guy 3x the measurements and of course it looked off and asked him 3x «are you sure b/​c it looks too big.» He of course was like «yeah, yeah I’m sure.» Showed him the picture and it didn’t looked close to the right side. He even said he would hook up with the price and work with us. So course he didn’t give us a good price, never hooked us up. Went to DM and the guy said not the right size, of course I was right and WS was wrong like usual. We ordered the piece from DM. And mentioned to us when we go back to return the piece that the receipt has to say ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No where did it say on there so legally has to return in. WS didn’t even mentioned it before we bought and the sign on their wall was hard to see especially since I have bad eye vision. We got there, the guy couldn’t even look us in the eye and admit he was wrong. Kept telling us that he gave us the correct size. Oh and his friend had to talk for him, COWARD. We called my friends CC company and they disputed it and WS not only lost out service (they lost mine along time ago) but they lost money. Good luck.

If I could put negative stars I would. Went in with measurements for the piece I needed and everything and after listening to some kid try to sell me half the store he got the piece for me and we asked three times if it was the right size and of course we leave and it’s not. I got back 15 mins later and they refuse to take it back even tho it was his fault and the receipt doesn’t say no refunds so it’s illegal and my CC company will dispute it and get my money back but don’t waste your time. Head down the street to Doughmain its cheaper and no kids tryin to bullshit you sayin they give the best deals when they don’t by far.

I was completely 100% mislead by a staff member at this store that did not know what he was talking about. When I went back to complain, they practically told me to F off.
I had some time to kill last Saturday so I stopped in to look around at the Simi Valley Wild Side. I was looking for one hitters with a plunger. I prefer stealthy products over large elaborate ones. The kid behind the counter was very talkative and had something to say about everything. He pointed me over to the ‘Cloud Portable Vaporizer’. It is electric and very small for a vaporizer which I liked. It resembles a women’s’ mascara in size and appearance.
The Wild Side staff member said you can use the Cloud to vaporize product or concentrate. I told him I don’t use concentrates, only product. He said that’s no problem and showed me where I would insert the ground product and how it would work. So I eagerly bought it for $ 97.65.
Later that day after charging the cloud for two hours, I followed his instructions (since there were no instructions of any kind in the packaging). It turned out that the product ignited inside this thing and it got very dirty inside. The product caught fire and produced smoke rather than vapor. It was clearly not vaporizing as promised.
I took it back a few days later when I was in Simi. A different staff member told me that the product is only for concentrate and that they don’t accept returns on used products. I explained that I only used it once at which time I realized that the product was not what was promised. I also explained that I was completely mislead with WRONG information by their employee. The staff member called his manager then gave me a number to call for someone named Jay who handles complaints. I called to find out it was a non-​working phone number! I went back and told the staff member this and he said he was sorry but couldn’t help me. I left my name and number and asked if he would have the manager call me. No one called me.
I do my best to support local businesses rather than shop online, but this experience at Wild Side turned that personal touch into getting personally ripped off. I don’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Ive been buying glass for over 9 years now. I am writing this review because I feel the quality of this shop is far below par. I DID NOT have a bad experience here, I just dont believe in false advertisement and inexperienced staff.
I know my glass, and I know prices. If you think their prices are right, you probably just started smoking. Yea you can get what you need but its all factory made, low-​quality products
While in there every pipe I looked at had some kind of imperfection (bowl too small/​big, mouthpiece too narrow or agape, or shotty art work). They have a good selection of pieces but the quality of glass is mediocre.
Very over priced and the staff like to sit around and circle-​jerk about how siiiiiiiiiiiick something is. I love hearing people, who have no real knowledge on a subject, try to carry on an argument.

I love this place, I really do. I come here when I need anything pipe or vape related. I’ve never felt ripped off and I’ve been buying pipes for 10 years. Keep up the good work Wild Side of TO!

I’m giving this place two stars because «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» is exactly how I felt walking out of this place. It’s one of the bigger local shops I’ve been to, but not only did I get the sense that the guy behind the counter was a know-​it-​all, but the prices on some of the accessories were outrageous, even for a smoke shop. I’ve been to smaller places with better selections, that had cooler, more knowledgeable staff than this place, with lower prices. Even the «special deals» that I was offered as a token of my first time patronage were just insulting, to be honest. I’d avoid making a habit out of coming here unless you have no other choice within reason.
