Do you like pizza? Or Perhaps salads? Well then, PizzaSalad is for you.
Seriously, it’s a basic build-​your-​own pizza place, but ALL the ingredients are organic and healthy. Delicious and good for you… what more could you want? It’s pretty close to the 101, so we pop in for a bite on our way to Camarillo.

Second trip to PizzaSalad. I came to get a salad and ended up ordering pizza. I am excited because I know how quality the ingredients they use are. The vegan ingredients will keep me feeling light after I destroy half of this large. The prices seem pretty high ($ 27) for the pizza we just ordered but it feeds 3 so nine bucks a person isn’t that bad.

Love this place. My husband and I can walk here from our place and get a good meal for a decent price. We will definitely be going here more often, now that we’ve «found» it.

love this place! I don’t know why people say it’s expensive… they have all organic food and eco utensils, etc… the pizza is delicious and I love that they have vegan choices. The veggies are always fresh… also the salads are great too.

Very unique concept with organic ingredients and rectangular pizza, but the pizza wasn’t very good. I’m hoping it wasn’t the ingredients, but the way it was put together. The salad I ordered was a tad bit too salty, maybe too much cheese or it was just salt added to the salad itself. I guess it could have been the dressing as well, just some simple greens.

I was excited to try this place, but it was a huge let down. The gentleman behind the counter was anything but helpful. I let him know it was my first time there and got no suggestions or reaction from him. When I asked what he liked best he said «I don’t know „. Awesome guy, thanks. When I asked to get a slice of cheese pizza he said“ your friend got the last one» I said well i can wait if you need to make it. This was apparently was a hassle. Then when finally just settling for the veggie he «caved» ans made me a fresh slice of cheese. When I had a bit the entire piece of cheese came with it. So i was left with bread and sauce. I’m okay with never going back.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! It is such a treat to order a Gluten Free pizza with Pizza Salad’s quality! My fav is the Ftelia, delish! And the salads are awesom too!!!

PizzaSalad is a good organic pizza place. The options are endless to build your own pizza and salad. The food is good. My only criticism is they do not sell pizza by the slice on Sunday. Really odd.

Great food and great family run business. It is pricey for pizza and salad but that’s because of the quality of food they use.

While I appreciate that this place is allergy friendly and I greatly appreciate places that make the effort, I just can not give them a higher rating.
I ate here twice and ordered gluten free pizza each time. I did not watch the pizza prep, but wish I did. One of my peeves is that when you order gluten free they ask if it is a preference or if you are a celiac. I am not sure why this is and I did not think about it until later; maybe they only employ gluten safe practices if you are truly celiac. Otherwise I don’t know why it should make a difference to them. (Side Note: Now when I eat out and am asked if I need gluten free because I am «allergic» or because I am on a diet I don’t eat at that place. It just raises a red flag, like they are making a judgment of whether they think I need to be gluten free or not. I feel like, if a place offers gluten free and you order it, you should get it that way without question.) Anyway, I ordered gluten free and yes on the celiac, but both times I ate here I was sick before we even got halfway home: really sick. So after two tries I can not recommend. I hate to rate a place based on getting sick because there are other ingredients or just plain old bacteria that can be a factor in food illness, but I am confident that this was not the case here.
Aside from the gluten free aspect I agree with the other Unilocalers about the unfriendliness of the employees. In business it is perfectly acceptable to at least be pleasant, you don’t have to be overly friendly when people come in. This is simple professional customer service, humanity, blah blah blah.. My personal experience when visiting was that I was not welcome. The reception was worse than neutral it was cold, like I had walked into a place I should not be and that they were going to serve me and get me out. I felt that way the whole time, both times. Now I know it was not just me. I probably would not have mentioned it had I not been so turned off reading the responses written by PizzaSalad to Unilocaler’s posts. A place that prides itself so much on feeding the body with good things must also recognize the value of feeding the soul with equally good things.

Gluten Free choices = Happy.
But we still go to CPK over this place because the prices are too high for an everyday grab and go.
I bet if they rearranged the pricing they would have a lot more customers.

I went there expecting something good and left not understanding the good reviews?
I had ordered a salad and a pizza. I was a bit taken back by the price, after eating the food will not be back.

I love that everything is organic here. The salads are fresh, vibrant and flavorful. I tried the Tsooka salad with spinach, iceberg lettuce, sundried tomatoes and roasted red peppers.
Their pizzas will satisfy your pizza craving without making you feel too guilty. I love the Mushroom Medley pizza. You can get half and half pizzas if you can’t decide. I tried the Stani as well and didn’t love it as much as the mushroom. There was a slight bitterness from the basil I think that I wasn’t as fond of.
All in all, a good pizza choice. Nice thin crust and you won’t miss the gluten too much.

Absolutely love this place… the food was delicious, and the woman working was incredibly sweet! I’ll definitely be back.

Have been meaning to stop by here for a long time, finally did today. Had high hopes.
First off, the staff needs some serious lessons in general service-​industry courtesy. No hello, no smiles, no friendly back and forth. Said it was my first time there, to no response whatsoever (I immediately knew their level of customer appreciation at that point).
Three people behind the counter, in a hurry to do anything else but take an order (only one other customer in there at the time, so it’s not like people are knocking down the door to get in). This is important to me and clearly many other people, based on these reviews. If you are in a service industry, remember the «service». Hire someone that can smile if you don’t want to. The grumpiness is out of the norm and the organic slant doesn’t make up for it. For me, the happy pick-​me-​up of an effortless positive human interaction is way more valuable than avoiding some gluten.
Unfortunately my first impression shaded my outlook on the pizza, and I really didn’t even WANT to like it. However, the pizza WAS decent. It’s expensive (understandable due to the higher quality ingredients) and I want to get behind the idea and the place, but I can never get behind a place that makes no effort to make me feel the least bit welcome. If you don’t need my money that bad, then so be it, I’ll spend elsewhere cuz I work hard for it. The Domino’s guy smiles AND wishes me a great meal!
It’s too bad… the place has a lot of potential taste-​wise. I’d be inclined to give it a second chance, if I didn’t see that this was a pretty normal occurrence from the other reviews. This would probably be a 4 or 5 if the service matched the food.

Adding to respond to Pizza Salad’s explanation of the lack of friendliness below: I think you are outvoted on the «need» for friendliness per the reviews here. I get it, what you are doing is important, but you are in the food service industry, period. Organic or allergies or not. The full picture isn’t there yet, and you could be doing so much better for your business. Even the eloquent hippie below thinks so. :) I am disappointed in your response as I was hoping for something a little different than my previous experience. To each his own, and I truly wish you the best and hope the place stick around for a while.

Great tasting pizza and all the ingredients I got on mine were organic, so I am a fan.
Today I got the personal size Garden Variety and it was tasty. My little brother who doesn’t like any veggies took a bite and thought it was good so that says something.
Last time, my friend and I got the largest size, 3 kind of mushroom pizza and it was good, but we thought they were skimpy on the toppings.
Ordering online didnt work for me but you should try because you get a drink, a cookie, and 10% off your first order!!!
Even though it’s pricey and skimpy on the toppings, I’m still a fan until something better comes around.

I agree with Sue D. in Ventura… the blonde behind the counter gives you a very cold shoulder when you first walk in the door as if you don’t belong. Her attire in spandex workout pants… Are you kidding me? What ever you do, don’t ask questions about the menu, you’re made to feel by this woman as if you’re an idiot and should know everything they serve.
The cost is high, the quality of the food, well — I’m sure shoe leather tastes better than the crust on Pizza Salad’s pizza… I’ll stick to Numero Uno, California Pizza Kitchen or drive to Universal City to enjoy Wolfgang Puck’s.
Now on a side note, for a restaurant that claims to be Gluten Free and 100% Organic, I have all but one inquiry… when did Costco start distributing organic produce? Yeupp… our undercover investigators spotted the blonde counter girl buying massive amounts of «Non-​Organic» produce at Costco & actually tailed her back to the restaurant… to unload…

The thought of gluten free healthy pizza didn’t appeal to me when I heard about it. But I have lived to eat my words before and here is one example. The veggie pizza was so tasty. Not greasy at all like most all pizzas are. You get a fairly large slice of pizza and a salad to go with it. A little pricey but the taste and wholesomeness justifies the cost. Plus watch for discounts. I found discounts by checking into Four Square. The only drawback is that to get the discount you have to phone your order in and take it to go.
Great front patio dining. The man behind the counter was a bit on the grumpy side, kind of reminded me of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. It was my first time and I was taking a little longer than usual to decide what I wanted so he was rushing me along without even cracking a smile. Funny thing, my friend and I were the only ones in there for lunch. I will be back though. Grumpy people can be kind of entertaining to watch.

Thank you for staying open after 8pm. Thank you for being kind and having reasonable prices. Thank you also for making such fresh options. The Hi-​Pro salad was amazing. Also, I think it is very awesome that you lend out the movie Food Inc., to anyone that orders a pizza.

With a name like «Pizza Salad» it leaves little to no room for confusion about what’s on the menu:
Pizza!
Salad!
What you might not be aware of, is the fact that they are one of few certified organic restaurants, so you know you’re eating actual organic ingredients and not reject pesticide laden produce that was grown in soil fertilized with human feces. Okay that was just gross of me to even articulate.
Anyhoo, I had the small hi-​protein salad ($ 7 & change). It had fresh spinach, broccolli, hummus, cottage cheese, tofu and chicken breast tossed in honey mustard dressing. My only gripe is that it doesn’t come with a bread roll unless you get the large or family size. Boo. It was definitely tasty and satisfying. I felt like one healthy mutha afterwards.
They’re located in a non-​descript center next to Tango & Tango salon. When I went there was plenty of parking on the street right in front.
They get my daps for showing love to the environment through things like biodegradable corn based containers, recycling bins, and sustainable materials in their store build out.
