Great experience from start to finish! The home we rented in Gray’s Crossing was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Everyone at Tahoe Getaways was a pleasure to deal with! Will definitely be my «go to» for Tahoe Rentals.

I had stayed at the Bullshead several times in the past, and when learning that my family from Norway was coming to visit me in California I could not think of any better place to take them than a summer week in Tahoe at the Bullshead lodge. The lodge boasts large windows making it the perfect summer cabin offering lots of sun and light whether you rest inside or spend the lazy summer days at the large deck in the back of the lodge. Truckee River is flowing by just some few feet away from the large sun deck patio, and the entire family went for walks along the river and even taking a swim in the slow running cool waters. We had another family visiting us for a few nights that had an infant, and the layout of the lodge makes it easy to get privacy and quietness in the top floor level of the lodge even when there are lots of energetic kids running around on the main floor. The location of the house makes it easy to get over to Squaw valley and the beaches of Lake Tahoe; we had a day at Squaw High Camp in the swimming pool and a beach day at Lake Tahoe, in addition to the must-​do Truckee River rafting, which ended just a few miles away from the sun deck at the Bullshead Lodge. I and my Norwegian family had a week of a lifetime at Bullshead Lodge.

Really enjoyed «eagles nest» at alpine meadows over Labor Day weekend. It was great house and had a great view. There was lots of room for the adults to be upstairs socializing and the kids downstairs playing pool and badminton at the same time .and then all meet for dinner.
The rental company «tahoe getaways» was very responsive when the pilot light was out in the gas fireplace and came right over and fixed it.

Just this past July we stayed at the Kings Way Lake View house in Lake Tahoe. Before we booked our trip at late notice, we were disappointed that we couldn’t get a house on the lake. Our disappointment immediately went away when we arrived at the Kings Way house. Upon entering we found the house to be extremely and more than adequately appointed. My wife is a clean freak and she had no hesitations in the home. The house was plenty large for the nine of us withe plenty of sleeping arrangements. And did I mention the view? INCREDIBLE!!! I loved waking up in the mornings and drinking my coffee on the balcony looking out over the Tahoe valley. The pool table, foosball table and hot tub were perfect entertainment for our high school boys. Its location provided easy access to Tahoe City, Incline Village, Truckee and Donner Lake. We look forward to next year

Stayed in this house:
We stayed here back in November and my family loved it. The home is very clean, spacious, and welcoming. There were six of us and we fit easily with room to spare. The kitchen is well-​equipped and has a large dining table to accommodate everyone in your party. The back patio is relaxing — it overlooks the golf course and has a great hot tub that is clean and well-​maintained. The location of the house is great — close to the Donner facilities (golf, tennis, rec center, pools, etc.), downtown Truckee, Safeway (about a 10 minute drive), and a convenience store which has everything you could need only a few minutes away. I will definitely try to stay here the next time I come to Tahoe.

This is a top-​notch company. The entire process of dealing with them was flawless from the very beginning. The ski house we rented was perfectly advertised, properly priced and flawlessly maintained. Receiving a text/​email on the day of our arrival with a code to the lockbox was a nice touch and made it very easy to access the house without dealing with an awkward key handoff. We had one minor issue during our stay, but they sent someone to fix the issue in under an hour on a Sunday. You really couldn’t ask for better service. Highly recommended.

I contacted Tahoe Getaways about a specific area I had in mind for my 36^th birthday with my family. I outlined my budget and Beth & Cynthia got me a great deal on a place in the exact location I wanted!
Nice to know there are still nice hardworking people out there. My family has a beach rental in Santa Cruz county and have struggled to find great rental agencies! I will certainly use these guys again!

We stayed at the Coyote Run Retreat. We initially were drawn to the close proximity to Truckee and Northstar, but the home totally exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect home for two families with children. And, the home felt brand new. We would definitely stay here again!

I had a wonderful experience with Tahoe Getaways. Together with 2 other families and some friends we rented a huge estate for the labor day weekend. The property was gorgeous with lake view and easy access to Kings Beach and Northstar. I found a rate from another website that was slightly lower than the advertised rate on Tahoe Getaways, but they honored the lower rate, which was great customer service. Check in/​check out was as easy as it gets and they gave friendly reminders prior to the rental dates.
My friends wanted to come back for the winter (and maybe next summer again)!

My group of friends had a wonderful time at Cathedral Pines Lodge which we rented through Tahoe Getaways. They were very professional and easy to work with, the house was in perfect shape, and we loved every minute of it. They did warn us that we might not be able to use the dock, probably should have mentioned that we definitely couldn’t use the dock, the water levels were so low you had to hike from the dock to the lake. That being said, it was still wonderful to have sunset drinks on the dock even if we weren’t technically on the water.
Tahoe Getaways was also very accommodating with an early check in and late check out which we really appreciated.

my past two experiences with Tahoe Getaways have both been positive. Both houses I rented in Northstar Resort over the past two months were great. The folks at Tahoe Getaways were kind enough to allow me early access my last trip. In order to unload our gear/​bags so that we could enough the day at the bike park at Northstar.
My friends and I will be renting again next summer (bike season) at Northstar with Tahoe Getaways and look forward to the next trip.

Very disappointing to see reviews subsequent to our stay where renters were compensated for Tahoe Getaways’ misses. I provided feedback via e-​mail, via their survey, and as a last resort via Unilocal,and didn’t hear a peep from the Tahoe Getaways team.
Upon further review of the Unilocal feedback, there is an abundance of 5 star reviews from reviewers who have only one review on Unilocal.This is always a signal that the business might be «fudging» reviews on Unilocal.
Renters beware!

My extended family and I spent a week at a Tahoe Getaways vacation rental, and we all had a wonderful time. I have traveled to more than 40 countries and stayed in many hotels, and the rental was perfect for a relaxing getaway. The Lake Tahoe area has so much to offer — from kayaking and white-​water rafting to hiking in the many beautiful parks to barbecuing by a beach — and the location of our rental made it easy to get to all the top attractions and activities. In contrast to a hotel, the pet-​friendly rental also gave my family (there were 10 of us in all) a chance to bond over home-​cooked meals, play cards and board games (provided by the rental owners), enjoy time with our beloved dog, and watch TV together in the spacious living room.
The Tahoe Getaway team was incredibly helpful and responsive. Jesi helped us pick a modern-​style, conveniently-​located rental with lake views among the many wonderful options they offer, Dustin gave us useful advice as we planned for our arrival, and Luke came to the rescue when we faced an unexpected emergency.
For those planning to visit the Lake Tahoe area, I highly recommend Tahoe Getaways to find the perfect vacation rental. They are experts on the whole area and can provide guidance on which specific neighborhood (s) to consider. They’re also helpful with tips on where to go shopping for groceries and souvenirs and readily answered any questions we had about activities, etc.
My family was sad that we couldn’t stay longer at the rental (because we had already been traveling to visit relatives before we got to Tahoe). I’ve already recommended Tahoe Getaways to friends and other family members, and we’ll certainly call them again when we next return to the Tahoe area. :-)

Overall poor experience. Very expensive rates compared to other providers, huge cleaning fees and booking fees. Bunk bed ladder step snapped in half exposing screw — dangerous. Water heater on low (pilot on) and heater off, despite someone saying they were there day of arrival at 10am. Home smelled bad. When I made them aware, they took almost a legal defensive posture.
Just too many good folks out there to bother w/​this outfit again.

As J.G. mentioned on 6/​28, this company loves to perform the «bait and switch.» False advertising and not mentioning their unbelievably high «service charges» are just two of the shady practices conducted by Tahoe Getaways.
They don’t update their Homeaway listings, which have inaccurate prices in the first place — if a listing says $ 250+ a night, you can expect to pay over $ 800 for a two night stay. Crazy!
Stay away from these guys — there are far too many other competing rentals to choose from.

Have been vacationing in Tahoe for the past 7 yrs., and, used this service provider several times without any problems.
I was planning the next vacation for 2014, and, contacted them to book my reservation. Now, you would think they maintain some sort of records for future reference? My past history indicates I come up on a Monday with my 2 girls, and, spend a week in the rental. I have explained this to them in the past and it was fine.
Recently, I received a response that I will need to come on Sunday to Sunday as per the supervisor. As a manager myself, you tend to provide excellent customer service to good customers especially with the amount of dollars that is spent. In conclusion, they no longer need our business! Well, they are not the only game in town.

Can’t leave zero so have to leave one… BEWARE of their pricing… they lie to reel you in.
Listing #287 191 was booked for my dates clearly stated in the email (Sept 3-​Sept 10, 2013). This home was not available so the agent asked me what my must haves were and my budget. I stated this in reply and included my budget and was replied to as follows:
The best options I have is the following dog friendly home about 2 miles from Patton Beach:
West Court,
3 bedroom 3 bathroom new construction home located in the quiet Cedar Flat neighborhood on the North Shore. Hot tub, gourmet kitchen, elegantly constructed and furnished. Sleeps 8.. $ 765 plus tax and cleaning (total $ 1,110.50).
Upon replying back within 2 hours of receiving that email and accepting. As well as phoning twice today I received this response from another agent:

That’s great news. You can either call us to book, or if you prefer you can book online at:

However, to clarify, the WEEKLY rate there would be $ 1630 plus tax and cleaning for a total of $ 2062
IF you needed something more affordable, we could also offer:
Four Summits,
Affordable remodeled North Shore home features a hot tub and pool table, and allows well behaved dogs. Sleeps 9+. Rate: $ 1350/​week plus tax and cleaning ($ 1737.50 total). And even closer to Patton Beach!
Finally I heard from my original agent as follows:
Hi Jennifer,
I apologize, made an error and misread your dates and quoted you for a 3 night stay instead of a week long stay. As Cynthia mentioned, the weekly rate is $ 1630 plus tax and cleaning for a total of $ 2062.
Sorry about the mistake on my part. Please let us no of I can be of further assistance.
I replied asking for them to contact me. Have left voice messages on both agents voice mails and they aren’t returning my call. Not only did they not offer a reduced rate to handle their wrongdoing they were crass offering another location and the first agent even went outside my budget at the newly quoted rate.
So options are:
1. (implication you cannot afford this) here is another property that is less
2. book this property at double the rate we quoted you.
How do those options sound to all of you?
