Naughton’s

My water heater went out, started looking at Lowes, Home Depot, Sears on line, did some comparing… found the Best water heater at Naughtons, cheaper than Sears and same price as Lowes/​HomeDepot. American Water Heaters makes a lot of the other brands carried at other stores but Naughtons carries the American branded water heater and it was more deluxe than the others they mfg for Sears/​Lowes.
Purchased a swamp cooler from this store also. Easy to shop, good prices.

The staff is always so helpful! They always help me find what I need to repair a leak, a broken cooler, a furnace – you know, the norm. The prices are very comparable to big box stores, but they have a lot of hard to find sizes or items that big boxes don’t always have in stock. They also special order things and if they have them locally will have them sent over from another store, which is awesome! The staff is also knowledgeable enough that if you need direction or bring in the broken item and have no idea what you are doing, they can give you a quick tutorial and send you on your way.

The customer service guy I dealt with on the phone and in person seemed like he did not know what to do. I feel like I got treated like I was lying… gees who wants to deal with a stinkin’ water heater just for fun and games? Maybe the do get a lot of sneaky people coming in there… but water heaters are a pain in the tookus. I had a water heater to return, it leaked and it was under a six yr. warranty. I had all my paper work… I even called the manufacturer 1^st, because there is a huge sticker on the water heater that says not to return to the store purchased from. Called 800 number. I got an authorization number… Then I called Naughton’s to tell them that me and the bf will be coming to return it as per the manufacturer. The guy on the phone seemed befuddled and he told me if I have it in a mobile home, that — and I quote ‘I’ve already voided the warranty’ WHAT? I told him I already called the manufacturer and they said to swap it out. Then he tells me it’s okay that ‘they’ just need to look at it. Then he asked if it was in a water closet or if it was outside the mobile home… I said it’s inside. He goes ’ oh okay bring it on by we’ll look at it’ That really pissed me off. Which is it? Exchange or what game are we playing? We walk in and they totally ignored me… and only made eye contact with the bf… the water heater is in my name. The CSR guy gets out a form… puts it on the cashier’s table and just stares at it… it’s all highlighted and I went over to him and said.‘do you want me to fill that out?’ He did’nt really respond. I picked up a pen and began filling it out. They hardly speak at this store apparently. I never mentioned anything about the phone call, ’cause I don’t know who I talked to. Then another CSR guy comes over and starts talking to him telling him to get info from me… when he could have just told me he needed info from me. *?* I’m right here, talk to me. I wrote down the authorization number and then the 2 CSR guys go out and lift the hot water heater out of the car. Then come back in and get on the phone. Still not saying anything to us. We looked at some coolers and then approached the counter where the 1^st CSR guy was on the phone. Finally he says that they are just varifying that it’s okay to swap it out. *he speaks* They go get the new heater and bring it out. I ask if the natural gas conversion kit is in the box… we might as well take it out of the box so it will fit in the car. No response… kinda like he did not hear what I said… So I said it LOUDER and he answers me and gets a box cutter. My bf was kinda shocked that I said that loudly… but he acted like he did not hear me. LOL…well they put it in the car and DENTED the right side of the heater… gees louise… I’m just not impressed… If the guy does not know what to do… just say so and GO GET SOMEONE WHO CAN ASSIST US… we won’t judge you, lol… no biggie… This was the most SILENT transaction I have ever experienced… just WEIRD… this took longer than it should have. I feel as though there was a little sexism going on here too…(like talk to the man she’s with and not the owner of the item.)LOL
