Well we did a search on GPS for Korean BBQ in Orange County and this was one of the places that showed up. The place was pretty good. We ordered all of the beef dishes and they were all pretty good! The owner is super friendly too and will engage in conversation and make your tummy very happy!!!

I recently found out about this place THEPATIO! It seems they’re just changed the new name and under new ownership now. I’m so glad to find this authentic Korean patio style BBQ place in Irvine. Totally reminds me my old time in Korea where I can hang out with my buddy and eating self-cooked table top BBQ and Soju/Korean rice wine in late night! Ambiance: wooden table and wooden bench with open air patio(just like in Korea). I didn’t have smoke smell on my cloth after cooking BBQ. If you can’t sit on bench, then this restaurant is not for you. Opens until midnight!(Yeah, it’s hard to find a late night Korean food place near by Irvine.) Food: I’m so surprise that they even have pig intestines/stomach(just like in Korea)…so chewy(make sure you cook right!) If you are not a big fan of animal organ meats, then I would recommend you just order the usual Kalbi(beef short rib), Chadol(Brisket), Rib eye steak, pork. Don’t forget to order the Korean rice wine to go with your BBQ~ Soft Tofu Soup is excellent! It’s home style, I can taste they use real beef soup base. Cold noodle is a must after the BBQ. Helps digest.(Koreans usually eat cold noodles after the BBQ.) If you can’t take the spicy, ask them to set the chili paste aside. For the Banchan(small dishes), this is a PATIOSTYLEBBQ/beer place. Usually, patio style BBQ place don’t serve too many Banchan! So don’t expect too many! OK, in conclusion, this is a place where you can hang out with your friends late and having some good BBQ and drink!

I wish there was an option for giving half stars because really I would give this place 3.5 stars. I read about this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. The meat was decent, decently priced and well-portioned. Its a small place with the main seating area in their enclosed patio. This is definitely a no-frills restaurant. It feels like you’re in someone’s home. The staff are nice and attentive. We had the pork belly, brisket and a small order of the cold noodles. The side dishes aren’t great, but their kim chi was good. I think they make it themselves.

Went there on a slow Friday evening. No waiting, cruised right in. Used to go there when the place was a Korean noodle shop. Good noodles back then, but, oh well. I have to say the new replacement is great. They remodeled it to resemble one of those Korean BBQ place you see in Korean TV shows. Spartan interior but has a homey feel to it. Here’s my ABCD review: A(ambiance): quite all right. Nothing to write home about, but appropriately homey for the casual experience. The BBQ dining area is in a patio setting so there is no over-head fans to drown out your conversation. Amazingly our clothes have no BBQ smell afterwards. I guess the natural ventilation in the patio works better than the indoor fans. Despite being next to Newport Blvd, the dining area was quiet and comfortable. B(where’s the beef): lots of beef and other goodies. We had two beef BBQs, one pork BBQ and one large beer. The meat, dipping sauce and trimming were all good. C(Check please): three BBQ entrees and one large beer came out to $ 43. Left a $ 50 bill on the table. Not bad for four adults and one child. D(Definitely) will come back. Highly recommended. Inexpensive, good service, great BBQ to fill you up. Would have given it four stars except the quality of the meat is just a smidgen below Shik Do Rak. But then it’s a heck of a lot cheaper. So I guess I am being a little unfair in comparing the two restaurants. It’s my review so suck it up.

After reading the review on Unilocal(only two of them) we headed off for a Sunday night meal of Korean BBQ. First the good news, the service was good and the employees were all very nice. That’s where the good news ends. I’ve only had Korean BBQ one other time and really enjoyed. We order the Brisket and Prime Rib. Unfortunately, they were out of prime rib so we ordered Short Ribs. We don’t eat pork so beef was our only option. The salad was good and the heated Kim Chi was tasty. There were many condiments available which were all tasty. The meat was terrible. The short ribs were so greasy and difficult to eat. We eventually gave up and and ate the brisket

This place is Korean Seoul Cuisine by a different name — Hebaragi. Besides the name change, they’ve also made a few changes to their menu. They no longer offer the AYCE, taken out a few things from their menu, but also added quite a few things. Most if not all the meat choices are under 10 bucks which is a steal! There’s a minimum of 2 orders of bbq to use the grill. Chadol and samgyeopsal were excellent! Especially the samgyeopsal, very fresh and flavorful –yum yum-. The soondubu there is also excellent, very flavorful and filling. Service was great too! Chadol, samgyeopsal, and a pot of soondubu ended up costing only 27 bucks! What a steal! Very simple kbbq, great prices, excellent service. I shall be back!

VERY good service. Small place, intimate atmosphere. The BBQ is very good, as is their soft tofu soup, grilled fish and extras. Last time I was there the waiter kept bringing us replacements of all the extras whenever we ran out, which was very thoughtful and different than my experiences at other Korean BBQs. The only reason I didn’t rate them 5 stars is that I have had slightly better BBQ at one other restaurant, and I wish their menu had a little more selection. BUT, here’ the kicker — you can get stuffed to the gills with really good BBQ for LESS than $ 10/person! That’s only a little more than a fast food«value meal» nowadays!
