This place always hits the spot. The food is always fresh. We generally get the loaded nachos or quesadilla with everything on it and are never disappointed.

Best carne Asada fries. Best California burrito. Best everything. Ask for a burrito michoacano. Not on the menu. It’s a carne Asada burrito with beans and green sauce.

I recently discovered this restaurant and I have to say I am obsessed. The décor is very cute and cozy not to mention spotless. I am always welcomed with a smile an excellent service. The food is phenomenal and always amazing. The quality of ingredients and the excellent kitchen are what sets this restaurant apart from all the rest. I know there are many taco shops in the area but this one is by far superior.

Chitos is awesome! The food quality is far better than most of the other places around. The portions are plentiful and tastes really good. The carne asada here is outstanding. Just tried a breakfast burrito for the first time and it’s really good.

Friendly staff. Clean. And most of all they have the best Carne Asada Burrito in North County.

For the price, its definitely not too shabby! Went in for lunch, and the place is definitely more decorated than your average taco shop. The set up is a bit strange with the salsa bar and fountain drinks right at the front walkway, but that’s unimportant. Anyway, the menu is pretty standard with fairly low prices too. We ordered a California burrito($ 5.90) and five rolled tacos($ 3.60). Credit/debit card purchases are an additional $ 0.50 and they don’t take American Express. Their salsas are prepacked which is convenient when you’re on the go, no need to pour your own salsa. First soft drink refill is free, then there’s a charge after that. although honestly, the dispenser is not at all within sight of the register so it’s definitely a strange layout to be trying to enforce that. Our food comes out fairly quickly and steaming hot. The CA burrito was standard, no frills kinda burrito. Fries, carne asada, and sour cream. They use thicker cut fries, and the meat was seasoned and cooked well. I felt like the burrito was still missing something though, and I would have liked more sour cream since it was a bit on the drier side. I will say though that the size of the burrito was well worth the price. The rolled tacos were coated with sour cream and piled high with lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. They were filled to the ends, but again, still just mediocre to me. Like I said earlier, not bad for the price, but definitely not anything special. I’ll probably be returning because it’s one of the closest/most convenient taco shops by my work and inexpensive to boot, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place. I recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and craving some Mexican food!

Tried this place out today with the hubby after seeing it every time we drive to Walmart. Never expected the interior to be so cozy, the tables and such are set up nicely and it’s very clean compared to a lot of other taco shops. My hubby ordered some carne asada fries and I ordered the vegetarian burrito. The girl who took our order was super nice & made sure to ask us how we were liking the food. Hubs said his food was ok but lacking in flavor and he didn’t really like how the yellow cheese was liquid rather than shredded. We also ordered an horchata which was delicious & I appreciated they don’t charge for the first refill. My burrito was HUGE although I wouldn’t order it again. It was basically all rice, pico, and a tiny amount of Guacamole. I appreciate that they give people like me an option like this on their menu but honestly it was nothing special. I’ve had better veggie burritos at other places. Overall it was a nice little meal but we probably wouldn’t go back, super Americanized Mexican food but customer service gets them 3 stars in my opinion.

VERYGOODFOOD for a fair price! I’ve tried a dozen things on their menu, and whether you’re ordering a breakfast burrito, a street taco, a California burrito, or some Horchata, you will not be disappointed. Very happy with the quality of food here.

Good place. I had to get some food for me and others. I got the carne asada burrito and a carne asada torta with a pineapple cold drink, and then I ordered two menudos. They had everything done in a short amount of time and the cashier seemed friendly. The food tasted good. They marinated the carne asada very well in its spices, so the burrito and torta tasted great. The menudo was served to different people and they all loved it. They even complained about how they needed to get more of it next time. I will come back if the quality of it all is like the food I had here on this visit.

Note: This review covers the Vista location only, I’ve not tried the Escondido location. Chito’s is great, and completely worth stopping at for a meal if you enjoy GOOD Mexican food. What’s nice about Chito’s is that the quality of the food is EXTREMELY consistent, and you can always count on getting high quality, fresh product that will taste the same every time. Their mole sauce is fantastic and standard on their enchiladas — I highly recommend them. Another nice thing about Chito’s is that the restaurant is impeccably clean every time I go in. They have a steady clientele, but they put in a lot of effort to keep the place clean and welcoming, so dining in is a pleasant experience. If you’re looking for good Mexican food, give Chito’s your business. It’s worth it. I only gave it four stars because it’s not exactly around the corner from me. I wish they would open up a downtown Vista location!

Stopped by a few times on my way to the gym(what an oxymoron, right?) I was taken by the person on the side of the street holding a sign that advertised 5 rolled tacos for $ 2.99. Great deal, right? I guess the sign guy worked in my case. First time I came I ordered the five rolled tacos. Not bad, especially for the price. Usually at other taco shops you’re like to get three rolled tacos for $ 3. Taste was decent. Not the best rolled tacos I’ve had but decent. I wish they melted the cheese on top a bit. I also tried the California burrito as well. It actually to my surprise came out pretty big. Check out my photo that I uploaded to get a picture of what I mean. Taste was pretty good. Can’t complain. Carne Asada was a little on the tough side though. A few chunks of carne was inedible because it was too tough. Salsa bar was average. I didn’t care for the green one but the red one suited my needs. Not bad. I’ll definitely be back again.
