History

Established in 2002.

Megan Haney Designs opened in Broadway Plaza in January 2002. After five wonderful years of running a retail florist and winning Diablo Magazine’s Best Florist of the East Bay in 2006, Megan decided to move operations to a studio in Lafayette in order to focus more on weddings and special events.

Megan Haney Designs still specializes in deliveries, personal and corporate accounts, sympathy arrangements, wedding and baby showers, and all of the other fun stuff we did in Walnut Creek.

At 17, just before her senior year at Las Lomas, Megan Haney began her floral career by scrubbing buckets and sweeping floor at California Rose Co. in Broadway Plaza. While working toward her degree in Communications at UC Berkeley, she worked as a designer in a number of shops around the Bay Area. Upon receiving her diploma in 2000, she traveled to Europe for seven months. When she returned to the Bay Area, Megan was presented with the opportunity to take over the location where she had first started her floral career. Without hesitation, Megan Haney Designs opened in Broadway Plaza in January 2002. After winning Diablo Magazine’s Best Florist of the East Bay in 2006, Megan decided to move operations to a studio in Lafayette in order to focus more on weddings and special events. My daughter and I hired Megan for her recent Sonoma wedding and she did an absolutely beautiful job! She followed our vision and had wonderful suggestions. Megan is so easy to work with, super down to earth and the entire
experrience from start to finish was perfection.
I would really recommend her for any floral needs!

Second year and third event we have used Megan Haney Designs for major events at Saint Mary’s College of California. She knocked it out of the park again! Always professional, outstanding customer service, amazing arrangements and worth every penny! Can’t recommend her with a higher rating because 5 stars is the highest Unilocal offers. Otherwise it would be 10 stars out of 10. Thank you, Megan and staff for everything!

Megan runs a wonderful business and provides quality flowers! I used her for my wedding this past weekend and everything was absolutely perfect! I will update with pictures once I have them.
Her prices are not the cheapest but neither is the quality of her floral arrangements! The price I was quoted at was much lower than several other florists in the area. Megan is truly an artist who has a talent for piecing together what you are looking for and making some amazing floral art. I highly recommend her :)

Megan Haney Designs is on the preferred vendor list of the Lafayette Park Hotel, where we had our wedding reception. I adored her designs and was lucky enough to work with her for our special day! She truly made my vision come true. a field of grass with bunnies! It looked fabulous! The bride and bridesmaid bouquets looked gorgeous! All I provided was direction, in regards to colors and Megan made it happen. I received many compliments on the flower arrangements. You get a good quality for a good price! I can highly recommend her and cannot wait for another event to work with her again. Thank you Megan!

Megan Haney did all of the flowers for my daughter’s wedding and did a truly amazing job. The bouquets were absolutely beautiful, the arch looks gorgeous in every picture, and the center pieces made the ballroom look elegant. The flowers on the cake tied everything together and made for a great focal point. Megan’s attention to details included incorporating flowers from my wedding bouquet and my mother’s (freesias) and pinning the boutonnières on all of the guys. The flowers were one of the most important details for me and Megan more than surpassed my hopes.

The flowers Megan did for my wedding were beautiful! I was unsure of what I wanted when we first met her, but once I came up with the main color of my bridesmaids (blush pink) she made it easy to decide the right flowers for the wedding! We got so many compliments on them too! Megan was wonderful to work with. She is very professional and was flexible with our budget. We definitely got what we paid for. She also provided flowers for our cake last minute because we had a mix up with the cake vendor.
Thank you Megan for making such gorgeous arrangements! I will definitely use Megan for future floral needs and I highly recommend her!

7÷16÷2014 — Wish I could write another 5 Star review! Megan HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK AGAIN!!! Another HOME RUN!!! This time flowers were delivered to the bosses wife for her birthday. He noted that his wife said that «they are the best flowers that she has ever received!» And they were delivered at the promised time. THANK YOU MEGAN.
6÷26÷2014 — When I called, I gave Megan a general idea of what I wanted and she hit it out of the park. A low modern white and green arrangement with a bit of whimsy. What she created was perfect! And she kept it under my price point. FIVE STARS!!! Thanks Megan.

I have used Megan Haney Designs for several years, and have never had any sort of problem. She makes the most beautiful arrangements, and has kept me out of the doghouse for a long long time.
I wouldn’t think of using another florist in the area.

Megan was an absolute pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job on the flowers for our wedding. My mom and I went to meet with her and had one of our favorite/​most memorable vendor meetings. I had sent Megan a lengthy email beforehand with my colors, dress, venue, vision, etc. and she took the time to read everything and totally «got it.» The day of everything was perfect and so beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for more. Her and her team are a pleasure to work with!

when i started planning my wedding i knew right away i wanted megan haney designs for my flowers. and im so glad i did, my flowers were absolutely beautiful, more so than i could have imagined. megan hung glass vases from the tree we were married under and everything was perfectly placed. my bouquet was the most beautiful thing, i wanted to carry it all night long. she personally came and pinned on all the boutenieres (sp?) and did the table design and tree vases. megan is absolutely the best i cant recommend her enough.

Megan Haney is incredible!!! She did my wedding flowers, and while I knew they would be good, I have to say, she really exceeded my expectations. I literally gasped when I saw the arbor that she decorated. Everything that she did, from the bouquets, to the arbor, to the centerpieces were absolutely stunning. She gave 120%, and it really showed. I am still receiving comments from guests on how beautiful the flowers were. Megan also worked within my (somewhat) smaller flower budget, and was very accommodating and honest throughout the process. I was one of those brides who didn’t know exactly what I wanted, and Megan really helped me figure it all out and make it come together perfectly. If you are looking for stunning florals from a kind hearted professional, do yourself a favor and go see Megan. You will not be disappointed!

Megan Haney and her team do impeccable work. I love when you can call up and ask for a bouquet that is bold, vibrant, colorful, but a bit conservative and elegant… and she knows exactly what you mean. Not everybody can do that, and deliver a product that matches that EXACT description! They are amazing!!. I ordered and received a large, flowing, beautiful bouquet for my mother-​in-​laws birthday, full of purples and pinks and yellows and greens, and it perfectly represented her personality down to the T!
When I went to pick it up, Megan was so happy that I was ecstatic with the final product. She helped me out to the car, and even took the time to buckle up the bouquet in the back seat for our drive. So sweet. Then she tried to refuse when I handed her a tip! How humble! I had to give her the stink eye til she would finally take it! Haha.
She must be a joy to work with on a larger project. Brides! Line up now! I’ll bet she makes weddings absolutely breathtaking with her skills and artistry.

It’s really off of Commercial Lane back by the Modern China parking lot. It’s the next lot to the north.
I have to say that I wasn’t expecting to be able to be squeezed in on a Friday at the end of September (trailing off of wedding season). I wanted to pick up some flowers for my anniversary and Megan said they could be ready in a half an hour! I’ve been vising Megan’s shops for the past 3 years and she has never faltered once. This is THE shop to go to if you want great arrangements that are also great value.

In the end, everything worked out with Megan Haney Designs, but I would like to point out some positive and negative things.
Negative:
1. Worst communication ever. Contacting her was a total pain, and I would go weeks without hearing anything back. As a vendor for my wedding, this made me really nervous.
2. Very expensive. For the simple request we made, the price was marked up more than was reasonable.
Positive:
1. The flowers were gorgeous. It could not have looked better.
2. I was worried the boutonnieres would look silly (since they were sunflowers), but they were very well done.
Again, if I rated her prior the wedding she would have been a 1 or 2. However, she pulled it all together in the end which is the most important detail of all.

It has been almost 5 years since my wedding and I still remember Megan! That says something.
She did my wedding bouquet, boutonnière’s, corsages for the moms and an adorable kissing ball for my flower girl (I couldn’t have petals thrown even though we were outside! This was a great idea so she wouldn’t be tempted)
Megan helped me pull together my strange ideas (diferent color Gerber daisies and thistle) together to create beautiful pieces that were fun and unique. She helped make all of the mothers corsages unique and perfect (always hard when we have 2 moms and 2 step moms who are all equally special in their own way!) and the thistle in the boutonnière’s made our scottish theme pull together.
She also did my aunts 50th wedding anniversary center pieces also very beautiful!

My fellow men take notes:
I dont normally pass out a five start reviews. I have to tell you that the flowers that I get from this designer are amazing. When you call ahead and tell her that you need some flowers for your signifant other and what they like she puts together an opus of flowers for you that show some thougthfulness on your behalf.
Instead of the jankity bunch that you can get at Trader Joes or Safeway. Put out a little effort and you will reap what you sow.

Megan was a beacon of garden roses in all the ups and downs of wedding planning. Of all of my vendors, she was the most honest, professional, flexible, hardworking, and uniquely talented. I had a vintage theme with soft colors and had collected 80+ pieces of antique milk glass. She filled my vases with the most beautiful assortment of flowers in ethereal pinks, peaches and butter yellows, with a hint of violet to match the groom’s tie. It was a wild garden, just as I asked. She created a blooming dream!
I appreciated several things in particular: 1) She was organized and attentive to detail. She sent a quote with excellent descriptions and returned revisions in a well documented format. In the end we had a well written contract, 2) She believed in the unity and integrity of her work and loved what she did. It showed in her floral arrangements 3) She exceeded expectation, and 4) Excellent price point. Great value. I did my homework.
After several snafus with other vendors, I can’t tell you how much I appreciated the smooth process with Megan. Her service and artistry is a step above them all!

I will never go to another flower shop!
Megan and the girls that work here are so awesome… they take care in each order and make sure that you are happy. Megan also goes to the flower market 3 times a week so things are always fresh and she can also take special orders.
Don’t miss her designer pumpkins in the fall! They are beautiful pumpkins with dried arrangements and ribbon on top. The best part is that the pumpkins aren’t punctured so they last for months.
Aside from day to day orders, her wedding flower skills are truly special. She does an amazing job of working with each individual bride’s budget and style.
Just make sure to give her a couple of days notice if you want to special order anything.
Call Megan, you will not be disappointed!
