By far one of my most favorite places to eat!!! Everything on the menu looks appetizing and the staff are so friendly! Wish they had more locations !!!

I tried Veggie Grill when they first opened. I was not impressed with the food and I don’t believe the staff was quite knowledgeable about gluten free options yet. The menu was still very new as well. However, the other day I decided to give them another chance. Instead of going in and speaking to someone I googled their«gluten free menu». I found a list with all the allergen information I needed to order something tasty and new(FYI: Cross contamination is still possible at this restaurant). I ordered the Sonoran Bowl for myself and the Tres ‘Fish’ Tacos for my mom. My mom said she enjoyed her meal and that it tasted just like fish tacos. I really enjoyed my Sonoran Bowl. It was tasty, filling, fresh. After enjoying our to-go orders so much, I decided to revisit and try something else. I ordered the Yukon Gold Fries and Bombay Bowl. I read all the fantastic reviews about the Bombay Bowl, yet I did not like it as much as the Sonoran. It tasted like a thai/indian dish; I just didn’t like the kale — which was a primary ingredient in the bowl. The Yukon Gold Fries were delicious and a new favorite. I also met a very friendly and cheerful cashier on Friday January 22nd. Unfortunately I don’t remember her name. She was very helpful and cool(compared to a previous visit). I can say that Veggie Grill will now be one of my primary choices when hunger hits. Yay for Gluten Free and Vegetarian options =)

I am suppppper upset. First, they take off my favvvvvorite item on the menu, the Bahn mi, and then, they change the rewards program so I lost ALLLLL of my points. I don’t like having my debit card information online. And that’s the only way to get points now. I’m super upset.

Happy that a veggie place like this exists! Its modern, located in popular part of town, and has creative dishes for any kind of eater. And its not in-your-face vegetarian either. Tempura green beans are awesome and crunchy, comes with an amazing side ranch. Sonoran bowl is delish, lots of great ingredients that you can decide how mixed up you want it to be. I need to figure out how to make carrots like his at home. Fire roasted. Bad boy burger not as spicy as advertised, a bit mild. A mild boy burger. Service is hit or miss — first time it was fast and the waitress was attentive and even offerred sample bbq wings for people to try. The second time, they claimed they could do a salad without onions/peppers, but took a very long time to tell us later that they couldn’t. I already finished most of my very yummy bombay bowl before my coworker was able to get his alternative dish.(Call me rude or whatever, but my tummy doesn’t wait for others!) Will be back as its my neighborhood veggie place. Heard there was a frequent customer program but I didn’t see anything in the store for it? Discontinued perhaps.

Quinoa power salad was good… fresh. Place feels like any other fast food resturant inside, screaming children, sticky floors, hustle & bustle. On the menu they should explain what their faux meat is made of. Cool concept but would not go back.

OMG, I’m obsessed with the Bombay bowl with glazed tofu. So good and reasonably priced. I’ve also had the sweet potato fries and those were very yummy. I also heard from someone who is a meat eater, but tried the BLT that is was good too. I love this place and so happy more veggie options are opening up in WC. I go here at least once a week and really need to try something else, but can’t pull myself away from my usual.

This food is for the vegan phobic. There are MAYBE a handful of healthy, fresh, non-processed options. Most of the menu consists of fried items, faux meat and lots of carbs. Even their kale salads are already heavily marinated by their sugary dressing. So my usual, ‘dressing on the side’ banter, doesn’t really do much here. If the kale is already marinated, why does it take 15 minutes to compile it all? I thought the tempeh bacon was amazing and will need to recreate at home. Interesting vegan parmesan. The Caesar dressing was pretty on point, though again, like everything else, a bit sweet. Two kale salads, savory and all hail were $ 21.27, cheap for an entrée salad, but not filling ATALL, I had to eat BOTH salads to get satiated. Very friendly, hardworking staff, it’s too bad the health factor is not here. Skip.

I just absolutely love Veggie Grill and need to make a point of coming here more often in 2016. The menu is creative and appealing to even my non-vegetarian friends. We ordered a few dishes to split and try. This is the way to go as you explore the menu. There are so many diverse and interesting menu items, that it’s hard to choose! I’ve eaten in and done take out from here and both times, I found the quality, service and food to be 5 stars all the way. Tucked away on Locust, not too far from the corner of Mount Diablo Blvd, parking is at a premium around here. With two lots close by, just be patient and you’ll score a spot. The restaurant looks small on the outside but it goes a bit further back than you’d think. Order and pay at the counter-they’ll bring it to you. Very clean tables and simple décor. As for the food, here’s what I’ve tried so far. ~ Sonoran bowl(it has quinoa and beans as a base and then the other ingredients will vary based on the season.) It was flavorful, fresh and healthy-filling but not too heavy. ~Tofu Thai wrap. On paper it seems a bit busy on ingredients(glazed tofu, arugula, avocado, tempeh bacon, carrots, basil mint and a hint of Sriracha on a spinach wrap,) however it was all perfect balanced. The combination of flavors complimented each other well and so far, it’s my favorite dish ~Santa Fe Crispy«Chikin”-normally I’m not a fan of chicken substitutes but this was a nice surprise-perfectly crispy and nice texture. ~Yukon gold fries-good but nothing that stands out too much-I don’t feel the need to indulge on these again ~Butternut Squash soup. I liked that it had a smooth, creamy texture but wasn’t overly heavy or sweet. They nailed it. All sandwiches come either with a side of Yukon Gold fries, seasonal soup or coleslaw. There are so many other dishes I can’t wait to try(their bowls, plates and salads offer some yummy sounding possibilities.) If you dine in, I highly recommend trying their iced teas. Their ginger hibiscus iced tea was crisp and refreshing with a touch of natural sweetness. Mmmm… can’t wait for my next trip to Veggie Grill

Amazing flavors. We had the bahn mi salad, cauliflower mashed potatoes, and the Bombay bowl. The mac and cheese was ok. But the salad and bowl were excellent. Very well prepared, great sauce /dressing /glaze. Healthy and highly recommended.

I’m not a vegan, but I love coming to this place. I live in San Jose and I usually go to the one in santana row. Similar set up except they don’t post the menu on their wall at this location which could get annoying when there’s a line and people keep trying to black Friday tackle you out of the way so they can a laminated menu from the register. But back to the food, when I first came here I didn’t even realize I wasn’t eating meat; it’s pretty amazing how they can texture/season soy(or whatever they use) to resemble almost anything they want. If there was one of these on every corner, I would seriously consider converting lol. Weird thing is, sometimes I almost prefer the taste of fake meat to the real thing. Love their hibiscus ginger tea… Drool.

I’m a carnivore who rarely eats vegetables. Tried to be pescatarian at one point in my life but that was it, so hearing that I was going to have dinner at a vegetarian/vegan place with my co workers was questionable with a slight excitement at best. PARKING: «Walnut creek parking» = meters for street parking, garage parking right next door(1st hour is free), and you’ll be lucky if you find a non-meter street parking. ATMOSPHERE: Had a modern-futuristic cafeteria vibe. All glossy lime green and glossy hospital white. As one of my workers mentioned: cold feeling. SERVICE: Everyone was nice. You order your food, they give you a number and they deliver your food at your table. We all ordered a LOT of stuff and it didn’t take long at all for us to get our food which is a good thing because everyone was starving. PRICE: Eh, I thought it was a little on the pricey side. I ordered a crab cake sandwich, buffalo chiken and a chiken sandwich = $ 30+. FOOD: Everything here is vegetarian/vegan and I was expecting mediocre taste but I was pretty surprised on how my crab cake sandwich really tasted like crab, fishy goodness. My boyfriends chiken sandwich was delicious and also everyone else’s side dishes: fried green beans and Mac n cheese. My experience was good overall and now that my boyfriend has changed to a new diet, I’m pretty sure Veggie Grill will see us soon.

Everything here is Vegan, so if you are looking for Protein, go elsewhere. That being said, the food served here is good value for the price, and this is a fast casual place. So you go up and order and they bring the food out to you and clean up and what not. I had their buffalo chicken wrap with the spinach tortilla and fries. The fries were tasty and the fry on it is crisp. The wrap is a step above what you can get at the supermarkets or the grocery store, it isn’t amazing but any stretch, but for around $ 10 in Walnut Creek it’s decent. The«fake» chicken there has a good protein consistency, it came apart easier then most real protein, but it had the bite and the texture of real protein, or at least, as close as it is going to get without the real thing. The buffalo wings there had a good sauce over the top, a good fry and while it lacked the crunch of a real boneless wings, it had the flavors. Overall this place is a place I would come back to again, as it’s slightly different and the food here is good enough to warrant a visit back to.

It’s okay, I’m not a vegan/vegetarian, but I have been here a few times when I don’t want to consume meat. Food: PSA: Just because it’s vegan/vegetarian, does not mean it is healthier. Just know that before you decide to come here. I’ve ordered a few items, including the mac n cheese, chickin’ tacos and kale style grillin’ chickin’(no bun). The food is good, flavorful and fresh. However, it’s pretty load with sodium, etc. to make up for it being meatless. Just be aware of that if you have to worry about controlling sodium intake, etc. The mac n cheese is not good, cheese is super artificial tasting, definitely not a favorite of mine. However, I do like the grillin’ chickin’ a lot. Good mesh of flavors, lots of avocado and I really like the pesto/chipotle ranch sauces. would have never put those two together, but it’s actually quite good. Service: Eh. I have never had the best service experiences here, especially with the cashiers. They just seem a bit rude and full of themselves, to be honest. Is it just me that thinks that? They can work on being more welcoming. Price: Honestly very affordable, portions aren’t the biggest, but for being vegan/veggie… I think it’s a really good deal. Ambiance: Modern, clean, well-maintained. Seating indoor and outdoor. Outdoor seating faces Locust St, it’s nice when the streets aren’t super packed with pedestrians and cars. Overall: Good quality, good prices, lame service. I may come back!

I ordered the fried cauliflower bites and the macaroni and cheese. I am not vegan but love a good plant based meal and this place hits the spot. I will say that the vegan macaroni and cheese is a little«off» tasting if you love dairy product and still eat it. I would say steer clear of it altogether. The fired cauliflower bites were AWESOME! They are a good sized portion if you are looking for a healthy lunch. I would also recommend their blackbean burger and fries! If you’re looking for a healthy meal in Walnut Creek, you should check this place out in downtown Walnut Creek.

Yes yes yes!!! Cruelty free mouth watering goodness! This place is a must try. Everything is so clean. The décor suits the atmosphere so well. So much seating! The layout is awesome. Enough about the inedible aspects… I have yet to eat something here that I don’t like and I’ve almost had it all. From most of the salads to all the veggie burgers, the chickin sammich, and the tres tacos dishes. It’s all so satisfying. My favorites are the banh mi salad, Yukon gold fries, and the black bean quinoa burger. :) It’s all so good. I got something to eat here three times in a single day. That kind of good. Please stop debating and reading these reviews. Just go. Trust me.

At first — I was dismayed to see that this place had a line out the door and that tables were at a serious premium. WTF? Don’t these people know this is VEGAN food? How is it possible that this place is so busy? The line moved pretty quickly — despite a rude guy on his cell phone in front of me who refused to acknowledge the cashier or step out of line(!). Cashier was professional and efficient, even when rude cell phone guy didn’t greet her, make eye contact or any kind of human gesture and then walked away without paying. «Oh, where am I supposed to pay?» Our cashier was cool as a cucumber despite this dope’s rude behavior and aggression(I wanted to bean him with the menu!). My friend and I ordered the fried cauliflower appetizer, hot wings salad and grilled chik’n style sandwich — and soft drinks. It reminded me of my visit to Native Foods in Tuluatin in July but much much more busy and crowded! We got lucky and scored a table — and then our food followed after a bit of a delay. The quality of the food was fantastic — esp given how slammed they were that day. I was very impressed with the flavors, freshness of the produce and overall offerings. I will definitely be back.

Whomever associates vegan food with being flavorless better be prepared to have their minds blown. Me, being the carnivore that I am, had some reservations about eating here. It looks like meat. In it’s own way it tastes like meat. But it’s not meat and I’m letting you know that that’s OK. The restaurant is located very conviently next to a parking garage. Because the location is on a corner, they only share one wall with a neighbor. Two of the remaining walls sport giant windows for you to vividly observe the beauty that lay within. I know the place hasn’t been opened very long, but the cleanliness of this place is top notch. The employees were great. Quick friendly service from the get go. The food here is freaking amazing. We started with the Buffalo Wings. To paint a more accurate picture, they were more like chicken tenders in buffalo sauce. Whatever you want to call them, they are delicious. The buffalo sauce is ridiculous. Intense would be the perfect adjective to describe it. Intense in the best way possible. The«chicken» was good even though it doesn’t taste like chicken exactly, I can appreciate the flavor they are going for and it totally works. Served with celery and blue cheese dressing. I ordered the Papa’s Portobello sandwich for my main dish. So many ingredients make this sandwich amazing. The delicious Portobello mushroom. The chopped tomato, red and carmelized onions, and lettuce. Plus it has three different sauces. A basil and garlic pamadoro. A cilantro pesto, and a chipotle ranch. The ingredients truly do mesh perfectly together. The sandwich is presented open faced with a nice giant garlic cloved slapped right down in the middle of it. Served with fries(home made, sprinkled with seasoning salt, and delicious), and a dill pickle spear. They have three different types of tea to choose from, as well as a variety of other beverages. I went for the pomegranit green tea. As you can imagine it is very mellow but with a little kick from the pomegranit. A perfect balance of flavor and very refreshing. So with great food, service and drinks, even the most die hard fan of meat can appreciate Veggie Grill. Open your eyes, expand your minds, and start salivating.

We are so happy that Veggie Grill has opened in the East Bay! We went to our first VG in Santa Monica and waited for them to expand in NoCal.(They have several Vg’s in SoCal and in the Northwest. They opened in San Jose, Mountain View and recently Corte Madera and now Walnut Creek! VG Walnut Creek is located near Tender Greens and many other restaurants. What a concept – an affordable Vegan eatery that has great staff, great food in a very comfy ambiance. This VG is a bit more spacious than its sister VGs in Corte Madera. The staff here is friendly and helpful. In fact all the staff at all the VGs we’ve been to have been friendly. Mr Rinky often asks the staff at the restaurants we’ve been to how they’re treated. The VG staff all have said they’re treated well! I’m sorry I missed the UYE held here recently, initiated by Brandi. We usually order the same things even though it’s tempting to try everything on the menu. We ordered: The Butternut Squash soup(seasonal) was delicious – flavored just right. All Hail Kale Salad – Marinated Kale, Quinoa, red cabbage coleslaw, corn salsa, walnuts with ginger papaya vinegarette. He had them add tempeh Crispy Chickin Plate – Fried«chicken,» Cauliflower-mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and a side of roasted carrots(you can choose the carrots or the steamin’ kale. Needless to save the food was as usual delicious. Glad there’s a VG in WC but it would be great if there was one in Albany, Berkeley or El Cerrito!
