If I could give negative stars I would. I took my car here based on the positive reviews. I drive a Corolla and my engine light as well as my Vehicle Stability Control light came on. My car wasn’t registering being in drive (although it would turn on and I could drive it) and the automatic door locks would randomly open and close. It seemed like my car was possessed. Since this is close by I decided to take a chance here instead of the dealership.
I drove my car here and asked the gentleman to get the engine codes before he did any work. I later got a call from him that the car now wouldn’t start, and I needed a starter at a ridiculous price. I asked if this would fix the problem and the guy says it would.
The next day he calls me and says that they replaced the starter, but the issue I initially brought it to the shop for were still happening. He then informed me that he checked the engine code AFTER he changed my starter and that the engine code was related to a Neutral Safety Switch that would cause the car NOT TO START as well as my other issues. He then proceeded to say that I definitely still needed the new starter and mine was «busted», but when I asked for my starter back he said they had to recycle it. He told me he couldn’t fix my other issue there and I would have to take the car to a Toyota dealership.
At this point I was fuming. I told him that I wanted my old starter put back in my car and that a tow truck would be coming to take my car to the dealership. Thankfully I didn’t get any push back on that since he must have known he screwed up. My car is now at the dealership and god knows what other damage this shop caused. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I had a positive experience. I went in for a routine oil change. The mechanic was able to work on my car right away. When he finished he pointed out the condition of my front brakes, and explained that I had very little life left in them. I also asked him about a rattling noise my car made and he was able to identify the problem right away and apply a quick fix to it. Overall I was left with the impression that they were reliable prompt and honest.

I needed a new tire rim, so I was sent here at the suggestion of Guarani Auto, similar to one of the other reviewers. The part was going to cost over $ 400, but they were able to get the price down to $ 250 by calling a used part place. They fixed the rim the next day and were flexible about allowing me to pick my car up after their shop had closed.

I was referred to Value by Guarani Auto Body, where I had excellent body work done.
The mechanic that worked on my auto at Value was Phi – friendly, expert, honest.
He took the car in on the spot, jacked it up, diagnosed the problem in minutes, and repaired it in minutes more. It was a small fix – but he only took payment for it when I insisted.
Great mechanic, great job. A+

I have two old cars that need TLC and Value Auto Service has given me good and honest work over the last 5 years to keep both running nicely. In fact, now I just drop off either car with a general description of the problem and they call me when its ready — I don’t even worry about what the cost will be. They are that honest and cheap.
Seriously, the best deal in auto repair I’ve ever found in DC.

I had a terrible experience going to TT&D Value Auto Service — the auto place connected to the Shell Gas Station at the corners of Georgia, Kansas, and Upshur.
I went in for a routine oil change, handed over my keys, and went to sit in the waiting area off to the side. About a minute later, I heard what sounded like a small crash. I got up to look, and the attendant was backing up my car from the column where a trash can was sitting and I did not see any damage from my stance about 20 feet away. Later when I was waiting for my receipt, I saw a dent in my hood that was visible from a close range and definitely not present when I brought my car in. When I brought it up to the attendant, he rudely denied it and then proceeded to have an extended exchange in a foreign language with the other mechanic present. After trying to push the issue, I gave up and left in frustration, but will never be going back for any service or repair.
Do not frequent this business!
