The Magic of Jimmy H

Great magician! Very entertaining! We hired him for our sons first birthday and everyone liked him. So much that we hired him for his second birthday. But there lied the problem. All the jokes and tricks were almost the same. We re watched his 1^st birthday video and were very surprised 90 percent of the material was a repeat! And it was the same audience from the year prior so they all remembered. And since he is a little pricey we were just very dissapointed. I give him 4 stars because the first experience really was great. And he was even patient to wait for people to arrive the first time. So again a really class act. But I would definitely would NOT recommend him for a returning show.

I am amazed the magic show on my friends kids party. How he made a ball disappear I still don’t get it.

I hired Jimmy for an event I held in conjunction with Dapper Day at Disneyland. He was a blast! Energetic, funny, and totally engaging with kids and adults alike. The room loved the magic, and there were lots of laughs too. He was just sassy enough to remind you that magic can be lots of fun, not smarmy at all. We all had such a great time! I’m so glad he was able to be part of my event and am looking forward to seeing him perform again!

I have been fortunate enough to see Jimmy H perform for 3 different types of venues. Each type showed him as a very versatile performer with the ability to adapt to his environment. He has changed my perception on magic. I personally find magic cheesy and annoying but Jimmy H shows that there is something more to performing magic.
First time seeing him perform was at a 1 year old’s birthday. There were many children and adults present. He was entertaining and had such a stage persona which made me do a double take on the traditional boring magic acts. He knew how to work a crowd and get the children and the adults excited and in awe of his performance. The kids were thrilled with his tricks, ballon animals, and silly side. The adults were amused with the tricks and the jokes. Adults can be jerks about magic and one purposely dropped the cards to ruin the trick, Jimmy H recovered and still got it right. Not sure how. He socialized with the audience and even went to the tables and performed there too. Very nice guy. Great people skills and kid skills.
Second time was as a stage performer for Dark Harbor. This show was in the round and I had seats on the side. I was surprised I still could not see how the tricks were done from this angle (way to shut up the sceptic). This one was geared more towards adults (makes since because of the crowd). He did his tricks, different from his birthday party routine, and had the crowd excited. The makeup and costume made him hard to recognize (and scary) but his charisma makes him stand out. During the show he uses the audience in his act. My boyfriend was one of the people pulled up on stage. He was impressed and even being that close up, had no idea how the tricks were done. After the show, Jimmy H personally came over and thanked him for being a participant.
Third time I was a guest at the Magic Castle and he happened to be performing that night. This seemed more like a typical magic show. This style was acceptable for all ages. It seemed like an old time parlor show. Very intimate and close up in the theater. Again great magic and he knows how to rock a crowd. Saw some of the same tricks from the other 2 shows but presented in different ways. Not all the tricks were repeats. How many tricks does this guy have!!! The story about his dream boggles my mind! How on earth does the paper have the audience suggestions written on it! It is sealed. Mind blown. Very friendly and shook hands with people after the show. Very humble performer.
Excellent performer. I highly recommend Jimmy H for any event, whether it is kids parties or adult corporate events. His versatility on stage makes him the best in the area. You can not go wrong with him. I have no trouble passing his card on to my family, friends, and students who are looking for great live entertainment for their events.

I’ve seen Jimmy H on countless stages, including at the Queen Mary and the Magic Castle. He has equal charm and skill with both kids and adults. It’s a pleasure to watch him perform. Highest possible recommendation.

I’ve had the pleasure to see Jimmy perform at the Magic Castle several times. His show is fun and inspirational. He also combines music and storytelling to create magical moments throughout his performance. I am a fellow magician as well and can say Jimmy is my competition, but he is very good at what does. Bravo!!! Looking forward to seeing his family show.

I hired Jimmy H after seeing him perform at the Magic Castle. That night I saw a room of adults watch in amazement at him weaving a web of entertainment. You see he performs in a way that asks you to enter the world of magic with him, rather than others who claim I can do this and you cant!
A few weeks later I hired him to perform for a group of kids. I had second thoughts about this wonderful magician making the transition from wowing adults to handling well a bunch of over active kids. Well, all I can say is I am so glad he was at the party. He treated the kids with respect and involved them in the magic show. What better compliment could I get then when my own child told me he was the hit of the neighborhood and other kids wanted to be invited to his next party if he brings that Magician Jimmy H.
I would hire this guy in a NY second when the next event comes up you should too.

I was very happy with his performance, It was my son Baptism and I booked Jimmy H to entertain my 200 guests with his Awesome magic show. My guests were very impressed and the children were astonished! I loved how he included my son in his final act and my son still remembers helping him out. After the show he went around and talked to my guests… WOW he is such a nice person. I recommend Jimmy H his prices are affordable no need to look anywhere else!

Jimmy H performed at my daughter’s 13^th birthday celebration and magic and teenagers can be difficult. Jimmy was amazing. His tricks were geared towards this audience and they were amazed and entertained the entire time. My daughter loved the performance and so did all of her guests. We would hire Jimmy again and recommend him to anyone. You will not be disappointed!

We have been using Jimmy at our Hospital events now for a year. He performed yesterday at our Halloween Party and was as always incredible! Great show, very affordable and involves the whole audience in his act. I highly recommend him for any event you need an entertainer. Great personality!

I hired Jimmy H for my daughter’s 10^th birthday. He has superb customer service skills-​from start to finish he made my party feel special and unique. He arrived on time and proceeded to delight the kids AND the adults. All of my friends told me how much they enjoyed the show. It was funny and pure MAGIC! Not one of the adults went into the other room during the show-​we all gathered around and enjoyed every moment. The kids all had big smiles on their faces. Jimmy H is an awesome magician. We had him as the main entertainer for our mostly-​adults party (with open bar). He not only did his stage performance, but he also did «strolling magic», where he walked around during cocktail hour and performed card tricks. Everyone had a great time, and there was a lot of audience participation. Definitely a memorable addition to my party, which friends are still talking about! Book this guy. He will not disappoint.

jimmy h performed at my daughter’s 1^st birthday party and he literally made the party. he was able to take an audience of about 90 people (ages that ranged from 1 – 70 years), half of which were non-​english speaking, and was able to put on a show that was funny, involved the children, teens, young adults, and older adults into his act.
he was professional and easy to deal with via email and his responses were always prompt. he called the day before to confirm the time and location and showed up early for the party. he not only had an amazing magic show prepared, he was quick-​witted and tied in things from the other events into the show which made his act even funnier. he was very accommodating as we were running late on schedule and stayed to mingle with the guests and make balloon animals for the kids.
a week or so later, i received a thank you packet that included a framed picture of my daughter and him. it’s such a thoughtful takeaway that i can show my daughter when she’s older.
i would recommend jimmy h to anyone. i’ve hired other magicians for different events and although the magic tricks are there, none have even come close to jimmy h in terms of his charismatic personality and his ability to engage and captivate his audience.
edit: we also had a mic that our mc used. jimmy h didn’t even need one. his voice carries and he is a natural performer that everyone sitting in the banquet room was able to hear him.

We had Jimmy over for our company’s Christmas party and all of us had a blast. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I hired Jimmy H to perform a surprise private show for my girlfriend’s 30^th birthday at the Magic Castle. In searching for the right act, I blindly contacted multiple magicians to see which would have the best talents for the presentation, and learned that professionalism isn’t one of the basic tenets of magicians. Many were slow to respond or didn’t respond at all, even after emailing 2 – 3 times, didn’t answer my questions when they finally did respond, some were outright rude/​bordering on disrespectful, some were pushy and condescending, and some were asking for unreasonable fees (thinking they’re Lance Burton or something).
Jimmy H was in a class of his own — he provided prompt, detailed responses and professional service the way that a potential client should expect. This was the first time I’ve ever booked a magic act, so I was completely ignorant about the whole process. Jimmy was gracious enough to walk me through it from start to finish and explain how he envisioned the performance to be. I had very particular ideas in mind for the performance (presenting her bday gift through a magic trick), and Jimmy was able to work with me to develop a set that worked for both of us — something with his personal signature style that incorporated some of my ideas for the overall performance/​surprise.
I’m a bit of a perfectionist (Jimmy can tell you all about it), so I probably gave him a hard time about making sure the show went PERFECTLY. I didn’t need to. After the show, all my anxieties and worries were washed away and replaced with a huge sense of relief and a big smile. Though I helped plan part of the show, the act was still very exciting, surprising, and mystifying in its presentation. He mixed comedy acts with great magic, and lots of audience participation. My friends loved it and had a blast — a bunch of 25 – 30 year-​olds laughing and behaving like children. Most importantly, my girlfriend had no idea what was coming, and was blown away by the presentation of the gift.
But even before the date of the performance, Jimmy H impressed me with his professional demeanor and personable attitude. Before committing to anything, he invited me to meet with him at the Magic Castle to discuss ideas and to show me a sample from his repertoire. Some other things I’d like to mention are that he’s always on time and was very good about responding to my lengthy, detailed emails and excessive questions. What I found of particular note was that instead of responding via email, he would call me and answer all of my questions in a more personal way — that’s something you don’t see very often.
So if you’re looking for a solid comedy/​magic act for your next event, look no further. Jimmy H has the talents/​character/​professionalism that will not only make it a great event, but make it an EASY event to plan too.

I hired Jimmy H for my daughter’s sweet 16. He was awesome!!! My daughter wasn’t sure about a magician for her 16^th birthday, but after his performance she thanked me for finding him. He was nice, funny and his show was AMAZING! Everyone at the party loved his show and had a wonderful time:)

I hired Jimmy to perform at my wife’s 40^th birthday party after searching on the internet. I watched video of his act and thought he was really talented. Wow! It was the best thing I did for the party. Jimmy was very professional from the beginning when I spoke with him about his act, what he does, the cost, etc. His act was simply awesome! He commanded the crowd, made everyone laugh and have so much fun. The party was 5 days ago and people are still asking where I found him and still talking about how much fun they had. I cannot think of anything better to say than my wife at first was apprehensive… she said «a magician… I don’t know». Afterwards she and the rest of our guests were blown away. We booked Jimmy H for our son’s 1^st birthday party. Jimmy arrived on time (15 minutes early actually), he made time at the end as well to make sure everyone was happy, and made balloon animals for the kids. The show was great, he included the audience and had kids come up to help with the show. His comedy is good, the jokes are cheesy but not too cheesy, enough to break the ice and keep the crowd going. He is a great guy, very friendly and personable. I would recommend him for anyone interested in looking for a magician.
