This is one of Greater Hartford’s nicer parks. It is spacious, picturesque and well-maintained. The playground can be used by toddlers and older children and there is also a splash pad. From a safety standpoint, the playground equipment is far from the parking lot/road so kiddies are very far from moving vehicles. On the other hand, there is a small lake on site, which means you still need to keep an eye on really little kids. The park is located in a quiet neighborhood in West Hartford so you also won’t have to worry about riffraff showing up unexpectedly.

A quiet park A little park tucked in between Fern St. And Whitman Ave in West Hartford. It has a couple of swimming pools that become quite popular in the summer and a small duck pond and picnic area. Not a lot of room for hiking, but it does have tennis courts and a basketball court that no one every seems to use. A park where locals go for a quiet afternoon. The much, much larger West Hartford reservoir is only a few miles away and offers far more exciting hiking, biking or X-country skiing.
