Place is awesome. Sprinkler system, pool, long slide going into pool, basketball court, baseball and soccer fieldtennis court, and walking/running track. Right across the street you have an awesome convenient store called Harvest.

A whole lot of hoops Kennedy Park was created in 1964 and immediately became a place to place basketball. Because of it’s location on the border of both Hartford and West Hartford, people from both towns went there and some extremely intense and competitive games have been played here over the years. I remember people shoveling off the snow and ice in the winter and then throwing down sand for traction. A few feet of snow or 50 knot winds wasn’t going to stop serious hoop players. The park gained another two hoops over the years but the extreme, hardcore basketball seemed to have found other places. I did see one guy shooting hoops by himself in the 20 degree weather which was nice. Besides the hoops the park has several nice swimming pools and has added a splash area for the younger kids and even a little and very cool water slide. A well maintained and well used baseball field is toward the back as well as a soccer area and some nice picnic tables and benches. Curiously the tennis courts were in ruins. They were very popular when I lived near here and I couldn’t find out exactly what happened to them. A cool park that many kids in the area literally grew up in. Learned about basketball, swimming and a whole lot of other things here. It may not be the basketball center it once was but it still is a very cool and well used park for the whole family
