Everyone should go here for grooming your pets instead of Petco or petsmart etc. best service ever. Sharon was so helpful and gave me a great deal ever… she really did took good care of my two dogs and gave them treats… thank you Sharon you’re such a life saver… can’t wait to see you next month

My dog is very special to our family. She is a rescue from TJ that we got at Wags in Westminster. She is so important to us bc she is a companion to my son with Cerebral Palsy. The level of care we received from Paws Above the Rest is truly second to none. The love the ladies have for each customer was an added bonus to the great job they did with our very sensitive pup. We were treated like family, and that’s why we will keep coming back. Easy 5 stars

I’ve been to Paws Above The Rest twice now this month. I just recently moved around the corner and it’s the closest shop to me. I’ve only talked on the phone with Sharon once, otherwise I’ve been helped both times by her groomer Triston. I first took my english bulldog for a bath since I can’t do it at my new apt, he smelled great afterwards! (especially his face. that blueberry facial is a miracle) I then mentioned I have an older black siberian cat that had a butt full of matts and needed his yearly lion cut. Triston said Sharon does not do cats but that she does. Boo has been groomed at least 3 times before, he’s definitely not a normal cat, he’s super chill, more like a dog than anything. It was maybe 2 hours and change later I got a call saying he was ready (most cats don’t take this quick! Don’t use my time as an example)
Triston did an amazing job on Boo. His head was a little rounded than what he normally gets but I’m not complaining, he looked adorable. I just want him to be cool during the summer. He’s been stoked on his cut since he got home, so much more comfortable.
After both grooming experiences I got a text from Sharon asking me how everything went, she was nice and I let her know everything went great.
I personally like this place a lot. I will definitely be taking all of my animals to it as long as I live in the area still.

*As for the negative reviews on here, I used to work at a grooming shop in Orange for 3+ years. You would be amazed at what dog owners will make up. Especially on Unilocal!This can be a very stressful job and your dog may be a princess at home but in strangers hands/​at a new place they can be very difficult. Groomers do their best to deal with every situation the safest way possible. They wouldn’t be in this business: getting snapped at, pooped on, pee’d on, anal gland expressed in hair (the worst!) or barked at daily if they didn’t truly love animals. So far this place is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone.

Had a great experience at Paws above the rest! Sharon was very sweet and caring towards my dog, this was his first time getting a haircut and she just took care of him so well. She took her time with him and he ended up so cute and smelling sooo good! I will definitely come back here!

Paws above the rest is great… they did such a great job with my little baby and very accommodating with the time available. I’m taking my other two dogs here going forward and will refer everyone I know here. DEFINITELY MY NEW FAV GROOMER!!! Thank you for doing such a great job on my little panda!

My dog was NEEDING to get groomed. Sharon was so sweet and squeezed him in for me! As my pups first time I was a little nervous. Most places are so loud with all the barking dogs and dyers, but this place was awesome! Not only did my dog feel comfortable but he looked amazing after! Pets above the rest did a wonderful job with my dogs weird tri-​colored coat! I will absolutely be back; I loved the sweet and caring staff :)

Yay! Sharon is caring and really helpful. They definitely look for the best deal and service for your puppers and I would come again. The location is quiet which is what I definitely prefer. Levi loved his cut!

OMG I love this place. My dog looks so cute now. And I’m lucky this time there was oy my dog and another dog, so it was so QUIET. Other places were always sooo loud with all the hair drying machines and many dogs barking and Unilocaling at the same time. Plus they let him walk around the store when they’re done grooming him, not keep him in the cage like all other stores. Found my new favorite place!!!

Best dog groomer I’ve ever been too ! Super friendly and inviting environment the best thing about this place is they don’t cage your baby’s up in cold scary kennels. They gave my Evo a complementary blueberry facial and massage! The haircut was perfect and followed his natural length. I def will be coming back (:

I was lucky enough to get a last minute appointment for my Pomeranian/​Chihuahua mix on a Sunday morning, due to a cancellation. I could not be more impressed with the level of service Sharon offers! I basically took my dog to her very own spa treatment. My dog received individual attention for her whole grooming experience. I loved that I walked into a calm, quiet atmosphere and not the usual loud, barking, and crying dogs that is common at other groomers. When I picked up my dog, Sharon took the time to explain everything she did and how my dog reacted. My dog can be anxious, but I could tell Sharon took the extra time and care to put her at ease. All of this was amazing, and to top it off, the price was so reasonable! I have definitely found a regular groomer for my dog!

Omg! I love this place! We have a beautiful Standard Schnauzer that’s a little shy. I decided to take her here vs. The large pet store groomers for her comfort. Sharon the owner was so sweet, very accommodating and left our little Frida looking and smelling amazing. I’m so happy I took her here. I definitely plan on returning.

Petsmart grooming failed to do their job my last visit so I had to seek out a personal doggie groomer. & I am so thrilled I found a great one the first try!
My dog doesn’t do well with other dogs so I had to request for a private appointment. She treated my dog AND me very well. He smells so great and is super soft! Total stud now. Made sure my next visit will be an even more pleasant one & more convenient for me.

Super place! Sharon does the best grooming in OC. I took my Husky named Lucky to Paws Above The Rest on the recommendation of a friend. Sharon had him clean and trimmed before she promised and at a really reasonable price. She’s so kind and caring to my dog that I feel very comfortable when I drop him off. He’s always really happy when he sees her too. What better recommendation is there than a happy dog that looks and smells great?

The owner of this place, Sharon, is a LIAR. I’m am infuriated that she is defending herself with all these lies. Please note that I picked up my dog and he was BLEEDING from straight edge cuts that look like they are from a buzzer. NOT FLEAS. How dare she say that my dog is infested with fleas. When I brought him in, I was late on his routine flea medication by a week so there were only a couple fleas. And even if my dog were to bleed from «flea bites» he couldn’t be bleeding as hard as he was. She says that my dog has sores all over from fleas. THERE WAS NOT ONE SINGLE SORE FORM ANYTHING BUT THE CUTS SHE LEFT ON MY DOG. Keep in mind that there was blood all over the back seat of my car. When I picked him up from this awful place, I didn’t look at his underside, so I didn’t notice any marks on him. I live right across the street so when we got home (probably less than 2 minutes later) my dog got out the car and there was blood on my back seat, then I go to see where it was coming from and the see long straight cuts on him. WHY DON’T YOU TRY TO EXPLAIN THAT TO ME SHARON???
Sharon says by dog is difficult, I find that weird because I’ve been taking my dog to Lucky Paws for the last 3 years and they say that he’s super easy even when they’re brushing his teeth. Unbelievable how big of a LIAR someone can me.
I don’t care what the price is, I don’t care that your shop reeks of cigarette smoke (and don’t try to blame your neighbors because odor was the kind of old smoke smell lingers for weeks), but if you go and BLAME the customer for YOUR lack of competence, you don’t deserve to run a business. Especially one where people are trusting they’re loving pets to you.
For everyone else on Unilocal… RUN.

Please do your research before you decide if you want to take your pets here. (I WISH I DID) She has several negative comments about how she handles her business. There are pictures as well to prove it.
My personal experience is just as bad as her sense of ethics. If you are looking for unnecessary drama and harassment on top of grooming for your pet… feel free to step right in! BE CAREFUL. I AM WARNING YOU. she will accuse you of ridiculous things like stealing her personal items. she harassed my mother for her missing ipad. She called my mother the day after our appointment screaming «GIVE ME BACK MY IPAD!!» and falsely stating that she has footage proving it. My mother was in such distress that she cried all day and she has medical conditions. My mother is an hard working woman who does not even know how to use the internet so what use would she have with the IPAD?!? Does that make sense???

If you were to treat humans as kindly as you treat dogs, (if I can even assume you do treat them kindly. consider the other bad reviews you have regarding cuts on pets and such) perhaps your business would be more successful and you wouldn’t have to close at 1pm.

I took my little Yorkie/​Lhasa Apso baby to Sharon today to be groomed. I had purchased the Amazon Local coupon and wrote for an appointment 2 weeks in advance of the date I wanted. Sharon responded right away with a time and I made the appointment. Sharon sent the paperwork so that I could fill it out before taking Zoe in for her appointment, which was very convenient.
My little Zoe was nervous when we arrived at Paws Above the Rest shop, as she is whenever I take her somewhere new. Sharon was so loving towards Zoe and Zoe took to her right away. Sharon sprayed some natural calming spray on Zoe to help her relax. After discussing how I would like Zoe groomed, I left. Zoe was much calmer and I didn’t worry about leaving her.
Sharon texted me about 2 hours later that my little girl was all ready to be picked up. I texted back that I would be there in 20 minutes. This is where my problems began, and it had nothing to do with Sharon. First of all, there was a big traffic jam on the 22 due to debris being dropped in the road. I texted Sharon that I was running a bit late and would be there shortly. I then got lost due to my navigation taking me to another area altogether and since I am not familiar with Westminster, I was having all kinds of trouble finding where I should go. It seemed as if I had entered the Twilight Zone because every time I thought I was there, it seemed I was just further lost. I was close but couldn’t quite find my way there! I called Sharon a couple times and she was so patient with me!
Between the traffic jam, school busses, my getting every darn red light in the city and just getting lost, it took me over an hour to get there! It was embarrassing just how I had so much trouble finding the place I had dropped Zoe off just a couple hours earlier!
Anyhow, I finally found my way and Sharon was so understanding, even though I was nearly an hour late! She made me feel so much better and not so much of a dweeb for getting lost!
My little Zoe looked beautiful! Sharon did a wonderful job on her haircut! I groom Zoe myself in between professional grooming and Sharon had to fix some of my mistakes. Zoe looked perfect! And although she was very excited to see me, I could tell she was no longer nervous and even enjoyed playing with Sharon’s cute little dog.
I asked Sharon how much I owed her, expecting a cost for being so late picking Zoe up but Sharon said, you are paid in full with your Amazon Local Voucher. I offered to pay her extra for keeping Zoe the extra time but she said that wasn’t necessary. She was so nice to understand! I gave her a $ 20 tip for her kindness and for the wonderful job she did with the grooming.
And boy does Zoe smell wonderful! The blueberry facial is fabulous! It has a mild scent of blueberries and sweetness. Everyone who has been near Zoe this evening has commented on her wonderful scent! I am going to buy some of this blueberry facial to use whenever I bathe Zoe!
For the Reviewers that said Sharon didn’t honor the Amazon Local vouchers or wouldn’t make an appointment, I didn’t have that experience at all. She made an appointment for me as soon as I requested one via email. And she did not charge me extra for any services. I brush Zoe often and she didn’t have any mats or large knots. If she had, of course I would have expected to pay an additional fee. Removing mats and knots take additional time and effort and it is only fair that you pay for that extra work and time. That is customary at any Groomer. Sharon is very fair and tries very hard to work with the customer, that showed today with my tardiness!
I am impressed that Sharon not only adopts rescue dogs as we did with Zoe, but also volunteers her time to do the grooming of dogs that are rescued by WAGS. That is just another example of how much Sharon loves dogs and cares about their wellbeing.
I will be taking Zoe back to Sharon when she needs to be groomed again. I feel 100% comfortable leaving my precious little girl with her as I know Zoe will be well taken care of.

Sharon, your comment below is riddled with lies. Due to your lack of professionalism your business will fail and for the sake of other pets I hope that happens sooner rather than later. Also, you did post photos of my dog however, it was after you had already shaved him an left the hair claiming that it was matting. Dear fellow Unilocalers, please read all negative reviews on this business before subjecting your pet to this treatment.
I recommend reading the ‘not currently recommended reviews’ for accurate reviews. Many of her good reviews are left by people who have no Unilocal friends and it is their first review, I personally feel she falsifies these.
If you read my other Unilocal reviews, you will see that it is not often I leave poor reviews as I like to see honest business succeed. This just happened to be a terrible experience that seems to be never ending.
Shame on you Sharon for your lies, deceit, and mistreatment of people’s pets!!!
