I was so surprised to see any poor reviews of this shop. It’s my absolute go-to store for unique, fun, eco-conscious, «sciency,» or whimsical gifts for all ages, and for all budgets. Always such a fun shop to explore. Whenever I’ve visited, which is quite often, the staff have been wonderful, and very knowledgeable, able to give great guidance and suggestions. Well worth the trip, even if you don’t live in the area!

Diverse variety of fun, educational toys and books to select from. I ended up buying 3 toys that were promptly wrapped(albeit a bit sloppy). Attentive personnel and much more reasonable prices than expected for a Westport shop. Parking was a trick but I can’t hold that against the store.

It gets one star for being locally owned and for having an interesting name, but the manager of this store, makes it impossible to shop there or refer others to do so. I had similar experience that the other negative reviews offered. A friend needed to return an item that broke nearly immediately, and since I had recommended the place, I went in with her. My friend assumed she would be offered an apology and a refund, but she was open to exchanging. The manager at this location was really unnecessarily difficult. There would be no refund and no apology; as for an exchange, it came begrudgingly. If it had been me, I would have just left the item there and walked out never to return. The attitude this store manager had wasn’t worth the time it took to get an exchange. She was also oddly enough gossiping about other customers who came in, while throwing out names of local celebrities that she knew. The other woman who worked there could not have been nicer but this manager was really difficult and unprofessional. If I were the owner I would demote the manager and promote the other woman, would make a world of difference to the owners bottom line if she did do that.

We had great expectations for this store, given its name. We expected lots of science-oriented and eclectic toys. However, we found a rather messy and dinghy place with nothing memorable on offer. The sales staff was entirely disinterested even though we were the only customers in the store. A downer.

Excellent toy store with a strong emphasis on the educational and the unique. Owners enjoyed pointing out some great items and were more than willing to chat with my husband and me about local activities, future toys for our infant son and 3D puzzels. Some merch was worn looking, as if it’d been sitting around for a while, so I’m subtracting a star for that.

Not sure why this location had such a poor review prior but it’s by far one of the more tasteful(not lots of battery operated or plastic goods) children stores around. They aren’t catering to the Waldorf or Montessori child but they do have plenty of classic toys, lots of games, and it’s location is centrally located to those in need of a quick gift for a party. It’s worth the visit for sure.

This toy store is run by two older women who have no patience for the behavior of their primary customers… little children. Over the last few years, time and time again, my children have been rebuked and scolded for handling the toys which is exactly what children should do in a toy store. I finally confonted one of the older women, who told me to «leave and don’t come back». Do yourself and your family a favor and avoid these horrible old women, and go to Blinns in Fairfield, or any other toy store for that matter, where the same toys can be purchased in a much more child friendly atmosphere. The proprietors should retire to an old-folks home, or some such place where they won’t be ‘bothered’ by children.
